Dear Tom,

Thanks for your letter which finally caught up with me in London. I suppose youre keen to hear how the trip has been so far. So heres a short description of whats happened.

Well, you remember we left Sydney on Monday and arrived in London 24 hours later. After such a long and exhausting flight the first thing we did was to have a good, long sleep. And after that?a good meal to make up for all that horrible airline stuff!

The first real day of our holiday was spent just walking around London to get a feel of the place. After that, however, we were more particular and planned each day carefully.

First, we looked at all the historical sights, such as the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament, the British Museum and the National Gallery. Then we visited some other famous places, such as Kew Gardens and Hampstead Heath. Finally, we took a one-day trip to Oxford, which is really the most marvelous town. You should make sure to go there when you visit England.

After we had seen a lot of London, we flew to Paris. A t first, we didnt like the place-I suppose because it was so different from London. Later, though, we began to really love it and started to appreciate its differentness.

The final stage of our trip is a visit to Rome, after which we will be staying in Singapore for two days before returning to Australia.

Taking exercise is good for our health. All work and no play makes Jack a

dull boy. By taking exercise, we can relax our body and mind. At the same time,

we can harden our muscle and have a good figure. If we dont take exercise for a

long time, we may easily fall sick.

I enjoy several outdoor sports. Swimming in the sea is my favorite. Because

there are too many people in a swimming pool and the water is always dirty, I

prefer to swim in the sea.

Playing badminton is also fun. I can always find a place in the park for

playing badminton. Besides, I enjoy jogging in the morning. Sometimes, I jog

放假的一天，我与弟弟没有事情做。就看着炎热的天空，心想应该玩点什么?好，打水仗。我们俩异口同声的说了出来。

充实快乐的暑假已经接近尾声，这个暑假我收获了许多。

我打开包裹，清点自己收获的点点滴滴。看！我不仅完成了老师布置的作业，还背诵了《论语》中的部分内容。看了《中国上下五千年》，《中国通史》上这些历史书，了解了五千年来的历史故事和中国传统文化，还读了沈石溪写的一系列动物小说，深深被作者笔下的各种动物所感动。

故人云‘读万卷书，行万里路。瞧，我还去了郑州的马拉湾水上乐园和世纪欢乐谷。在马拉湾我们体验了水给人们带来的无限乐趣。在世纪欢乐园游玩中，我们则被那些惊险刺激的游戏所震撼。

当然，对我来说更为重要的是认真面对下一个学期，我就要升入六年级了，这是一个重要的阶段，我将要在小学阶段做最后的冲刺。开学之后，我要为自己制定一份学习计划，而且要多锻炼身体。

校长说过，我们要做两种事，一种是应该做的事，一种是喜欢做的事。我一定把应该做的事变成喜欢做的事。把学习看作快乐的事，开开心心学习知识，顺顺利利升入初中。

一想到马上就要重新回到学校，再次见到老师和同学，我心中便无比兴奋。

在来到沈阳后，我觉得自己像“小大人”了，独自一人来到沈阳，以前都还不敢一人去温州呢。我总是万分的期待，去了沈阳的南湖公园，享受了“碰碰车”的刺激，“火箭飞人”像鸟儿一样飞到高空，冲向云际!但也有让阿姨担心的事，表妹滑冰鞋摔倒膝盖了，流了好多血，也不能走路。我还要陪我妹妹，谁叫我是她哥。

在沈阳待了一个月后，阿姨带我去了云南。在云南大理我们游览了大理古镇，城门外，古老城墙阻止敌人进攻，仿佛是真的，上了北城门，一眼眺望，全是矮房，房顶是瓦片，密密麻麻的人各聚一堂。古镇的特色也是美味至极。在这里，我们了解了白族和彝族的民族风俗，更是有趣。云南的虎跳峡，居传有只老虎跳黄河，本来黄河动静我们感觉不到，但我是亲身接触，走到黄河旁边，黄河的水花溅到我脸上。滚滚的河水响得隆隆，我的耳朵差点被震聋了。

在云南先格里拉，我们来到了普达措公园，是中国第一公园。我们都穿上了毛衣，披上围巾，是因为专家确认进入公园，公园里面的温度会一点一点的降低，有备无患。进入公园，正前面引来了一只黑猪和一只乳白猪，我很好奇冲上前，缓缓的搭上了乳白猪的背上，头一次摸过野生猪，猪毛真刺啊。在雨中，蒙蒙胧胧的雾一点一下的，雨中的节奏一点一滴的，雨中的环境更是清新啊。

回家之后，剩下的几十天怎么过呢?还是写作文，还是。我还是只能期待下次毕业的暑假无忧无虑，满心期待中。

今天妈妈他们早上继续开会，我趁着这个时间把带的语文书给背了下。因为我还差两篇就背完语文书了。我背书时，小虎妞好奇的看着我。我被她看的不好意思了，就背对着她默默地背书。

她是一个小胖子，整个身子上全是肉，小脸也是圆圆的。她是我妈妈同事的女儿，今年六岁了。与我住一个房间。她的嘴巴可馋了，___妈不让她吃零食，因为她太能吃了，所以吃成了个小胖子。___妈要她节食，于是她趁我背书时，把我的零食包包打开，自己在里面找吃的。我开始没注意她，也没注意她翻了我的包。结果我发现她正在吃的零食好像是我带来的，才发现她在偷吃。真是郁闷死我了，让她不要吃太多，不然___会骂你，可她不听，还在吃。还说我的零食好吃，她很喜欢。

啊啊啊，我真想大叫几声，难怪不让你吃，照你这样吃法，不胖才怪。而且她还是个狡猾的小孩子，如果她吃了她家带的零食，___妈一定能发现她偷吃了，可她吃我的零食，只要我不说，___妈一定不会知道她偷吃。我看着我的零食快要见底了，忍无可忍上前，把我的零食包拿了回来。看着里面我喜欢的零食就剩下一些了，我真要泪流满面了。只因为我比她大，她是个小孩子嘛，我又不能凶她。我的心好痛啊，我的零食啊。

During the winter vacation, nothing is different for my life. i wake up 11 oclock am everyday, after a washing, i have a good lunch with my parents. next i play computer games till the time to have supper. after have dinner. i go on playing till 2 oclock am, and then go to sleep with tired. this is one dull day of my winter vacation.

But i havent bored all the time. sometimes i read the books, sometime i listen to the music or the radio in the bed, because it was very cold outside and snowy all the day. and i also meat some of my good friends during the vacation, we have a very long talk about the life of each other in the past year and play table tennis tegether. and i watched the spring festival party of the cctv in the last seconds of the 2004 year! i think this is the thing most people of china doing at that time.

With the rapid process of modernization, computer becomes more and more

popular. Nowadays, almost every family has a computer. Because of computers, our

daily life is improving.

Computer has a great effect on our daily life. In the first place, computer

has so many functions. As we have computers, we neednt buy books, radios, TVs

and any other things, because computer can take place of them. Secondly, surfing

on the Internet must be very interesting. Through the Internet, we can do

everything we like. Thirdly, thanks to the Internet, we can get the further

education at any time, so we dont have to get up so early in winter days.

However, a coin has two sides, because its new doesnt mean its always

good. At present, most students spend too much time on computer games. I dont

think its a good phenomenon, because it will do great harm to our eyes as well

as our health if we play computer games all the time.

In my opinion, we should use the computers in the right way. For instance,

we can read the latest news on the internet to know the world better; read the

e-books to enrich our knowledge or download some useful information for our

work. We can also make different friends on the Internet, so that our life will

be colorful. I believe computers will be our best friends if we make good use of

December 25, Christmas day, is a foreigners New Year.

But I also had a happy Christmas, and my mother bought me a toy that I had been thinking about for a long time, a remote control plane. I was stunned when I received the gift. Because my mother had never promised to buy me before, it may be that I have done my homework these days to be more conscious, and I am very happy.

12月25日，是圣诞节，是外国人的新年。

但是我也过了快乐的圣诞节，妈妈给我买了我想了很久的玩具，一架遥控飞机。我收到礼物的时候，我都愣住了。因为妈妈以前从来都没有答应过给我买，可能是我这几天做作业比较自觉，才奖励我的，我开心极了。

暑假的一天，我怀着无比激动的心情来到了被人们称为“天下第一奇山”的黄山旅游。

明代大旅行家徐霞客游览黄山后，对黄山推崇备至，说：“五岳归来不看山，黄山归来不看岳。”

今日，我也有幸游览了黄山，再一次证实了黄山的确不同寻常。他兼备泰山之雄伟、华山之峻峭、庐山之飞瀑、衡山之烟云，以奇松、怪石、云海、温泉“四绝”闻名于世，是实至名归的“天下第一奇山”。

黄山的山峰是莲花峰，海拔一千八百多米，那耸立天外的峰顶，云雾缭绕，神秘莫测，使人感到其攀登之难，难于上青天啊。特别是山上那奇形怪状的岩石，似乎摇摇欲坠，令人心惊胆战。

黄山景色秀丽神奇，尤其是那些怪石，有趣极了!就说“仙女弹琴”吧，那美丽的仙女弹着琴，悠扬的琴声在山间久久回荡，好像在让人们欣赏回味。再看那陡峭山峰上可爱的小狗，正抬头望着月亮，好像是想到月亮上去看个究竟，这，就是有趣的“天狗望月”。黄山奇石还有很多，如“狮子抢球”、“猴子观海”、“龟鱼对望”等，千姿百态，惟妙惟肖。

玉屏楼的附近，有几棵古老的松树，其中有一棵叫做迎客松，它的姿态好像时刻都在欢迎游客的到来。还有一棵叫做送客送，好似在殷勤地送客：“祝您走好，欢迎下次再来!”

黄山归来已经许多天了，但那秀丽的风景犹如一幅幅美丽的图画，仍时刻浮在我的脑海里。

放假了，我想学游泳，爸爸就带我去报名参加游泳班。学游泳的地方是我们县城的淯江河，这条河从竹海流来，绕城而过，学游泳的河段距离下游的拦河闸不远，所以这儿的水很平静，河床也比较平坦，河水的深度保持在一米四五，这真是一个学游泳的好地方!下水后，我发现河水很清，清得看得见脚下的小鹅卵石;水凉凉的，把身上的热气一下就带走了。教练教游泳就三个步骤：换气、手上动作、脚上动作。

每天六点钟，闹钟一响我就起床，换上泳裤，带上装备就出发了。教练先让我们做热身操，然后戴上泳帽和防水眼镜下水，一开始练习的就是换气。在齐胸的河水里，先深吸一大口气，然后迅速把头埋在水里，像鱼儿一样在水里缓缓吐气，一串串水泡就从脸边上往上溜走。气吐完了，便又露出水面深呼吸。这样反复练习，我做了一百多次。

接下来，教练就开始训练我们的手上动作。他先示范给我们看，手要像剑一样从胸前快速往前方射出去，再往两侧划水，最后要把手收到胸前。我练习这个动作时老是出错，双手划水后我总把手放在两肋。教练发现一次纠正一次，在他的耐心帮助下，我用了很长一段时间，终于纠正过来了。

手上动作会了就学脚上动作了。教练教我们两脚弯曲，小腿贴着大腿，然后分开，把脚掌向外翻并用力一蹬，身子就会往前游动。脚上动作配合手上动作，就不会往下沉了。我们练习了好一会儿，把手和脚练习协调了，就基本上能游动了。

最后是训练耐力，每次在教练指定的路线游20个来回。距离并不算远，估计只有10多米吧，但一开始我们都练得气喘吁吁，很是吃力。坚持几天后，我们就习惯了，还能直接游到河对岸再回来。

学会了游泳，我心里乐滋滋的。游泳不仅可以带来快乐，还可以锻炼身体，更重要的是，它还是一项求生的本领。

暑假的时候，我和爸爸妈妈去海滨公园玩。海滨公园可真大呀，足足有500平方千米呢!

爸爸妈妈带着我去坐摩天轮。这是我第一次坐摩天轮。从空中往下看，视野一下子就开阔了，地上的车和人都变小了。

坐完了摩天轮，爸爸又拉着我去“惊魂屋”。我刚进去，只听见砰的一声，大门被关得紧紧的，惊魂屋里伸手不见五指，我只好摸索着往前走。突然，一只鬼突然从棺材里走了出来。我吓了一跳，鼓起勇气拿起一块石头扔向那只鬼。只听“哎哟”一声，那只鬼一边叫一边逃走了。我这才发现这鬼是工作人员扮演的，于是胆子就大起来，顺利的走出了惊魂屋。

这次的海滨之旅，治好了我对惊魂屋的恐惧。海滨公园，我们有缘再见。

Different countries have different customs and different ways to celebrate festival. In our China, we have a variety of festivals, of which celebrating way is different. For example, we will eat mooncake in Mid-autumn Festival and have dragon boat races in the Dragon Boat Festival and eat zongzi. But in some extend, we celebrate all the festivals in the same way. Every family will have a big meal with their family. It is a time for family gathering. No matter what kind of celebrating way for a festival, it is the time to enjoy life.

不同的国家有不同的风俗习惯和不同的节日庆祝方式。在我们中国，我们有各种各样的节日，而庆祝它们的方式是不一样的。例如，我们会在中秋节吃月饼、在端午节赛龙舟、吃粽子。但从某种程度上说，我们都是以同样的方式来庆祝所有的节日。每家每户都会和家人一起吃大餐。这是属于家庭相聚的时间。无论用什么样的方式来庆祝，这都是享受生活的时刻。

今天我们来到了承德避暑山庄，妈妈请了一位讲解员阿姨，为我们讲解，我们就开始游览了。

一进到避暑山庄里我的眼睛就不够用了，我看见了好多的古建筑，听说这些建筑都是给皇上避暑的。

我们参观完建筑区，我们就开始参观园林区，园林区有个大湖，我们坐在船上看着风景，这次可是我开的船哦!柳树在风的吹动下翩翩起舞，湖面上飘着像火一样的荷花。看到这儿我想起了妈妈教我的一首诗，接天莲叶无穷碧，映日荷花别样红。突然!我发现了一只蓝色的蜻蜓，它长着圆圆的大眼睛、透明的小翅膀，停在我们的船舷上，妈妈拿起照相机准备给他照个相，可是他飞走了，飞起来像一个小直升飞机。

游完船我们坐着旅游观光车游览了避暑山庄的山区。避暑山庄的围墙有二十里长，修建的跟小长城一样。我们站在小长城上看到了外八庙，他另外的名字叫小布达拉宫。它的样子非常漂亮壮观!我真想进去看看。

车子在陡峭的山路上前行，我们像坐在过山车里一样。我们的两边不断的看见为皇帝修建的建筑物，其中还包含冷宫。听妈妈说，冷宫是皇上不喜欢的妃子住的地方。

避暑山庄给我留下了深刻的印象，我也知道了一些关于清朝皇帝的知识，我很开心。

First, we have four classes in the morning and three in the afternoon. We have to get to school before 7:30 because we have a morning class.

Second, I like my school life because teachers and my classmates are friendly and helpful. We also have lots of after-school activies.

Third, our school environment is very beautiful, the teachers all can make their lesson interesting and instructive. So I like my school life very much.

我的学校生活是忙碌的，神奇的。首先，我们有四节课在上午和下午三。我们到学校7:30之前因为我们早上有课。其次，我喜欢我的学校生活，因为老师和我的同学都很友好，乐于助人。我们也有很多的课外活动。第三、我们的学校环境很漂亮，老师们都能使自己的课有趣又有启发性。所以我非常喜欢我的学校生活。
