新的一年已经到来。

everyone needs friendship. no one can sail the ocean of life single handed.

we need help from, and also give help to, others. in the modern age, people attach more importance to relations and connections. a man of charisma has many friends. his power lies in his ability to give.

the term, friend, covers a wide range of raeanings. it can be a nodding acquaintance, a comrade, a confident, a partner, a playmate, a brother, an intimate etc.

as life is full of strife and conflict, we need friends to support and help as out of difficulties. our frinods give us warnings against danger. true friends share not only joy but, more often than not, they share sorrow.

with friendship, life is happy and harmonious. without friendship, life is hostile and unfortunate. i have friends in the rank and file. some are rich and in power. some are low and common. some are like myself, working as a teacher, reading and writing and content with the simple life we have. to many of my friends, i know what to treasure, what to tolerate and what to share, i will never forget my old friends and keep making new friends. i will not he cold and indifferent to the poor friends and will show concern for them, even if it is only a comforting word.

在放假的几天中，我最快乐的一天，要属元宵节了。那天，伯伯来我家吃饭，伯伯刚坐下就问我：“凡琪，你放过烟花吗”我回答道：“放过一两次。”伯伯接着说：“那你还想放一次吗”我说道：“当然想啦!可是妈妈偏说说放烟花有危险!不让我多放。”伯伯说：“不用怕，我跟你妈说，她会同意的!”我高兴得蹦了 “三千尺”，我大喊道：“又可以放烟花了!又可以放烟花了!”我扭过头对伯伯说：“还是伯伯最爱我!”伯伯对我笑了笑，又回头看他的报纸去了。

吃过饭后，伯伯给了我一大袋烟花，和三根香，就让我和妈妈下楼去放。到了楼下的石头椅子旁，我先把烟花管放在地上放好后，然后用点燃的香将烟花管旁的引子点燃，没过多久，烟花像火箭一样“嗖”的一声，飞上了天空，然后，“碰”的一声在天空散开了，真像一朵花开了!后来，我看了看，有红的，有黄的，有紫的，有绿的，各种各样，各色各异，真好看!

后来，我回家后，妈妈端上了一碗汤圆给我吃，啊!元宵节我真喜欢你!

It was October 12th yesterday. My friends held a birthday party for me. In

the morning, they came to my home early, and they brought many presents for me.

I liked them very much. I invited them to the KTV, we sang songs, danced and

played games. About 5:30 p.m., we went my home. My mother had cooked a delicious

dinner for us. After dinner, we watched TV and at about 8:30 p.m. we ate

birthday cake. There were fifteen candles on my birthday cake. I made a silent

wish, and then I blew the candles out in one breath. I had an interesting

birthday party. We had a good time in the party. I was so grateful to what they

did for me.

In my eye, my father is so adorable, because he can give me advices and help me to make the best decision. My father experienced a lot. When he graduated from college, his first job was to work in the office, then he found life was boring to sit in the office all the day, so he decided to quit and then started his trip to many places. My father had been traveled to many places, he opened his vision and then went back home to find another job he liked. When he met my mother, he thought it was time to settle down. I was so interested in his life experience, I couldn’t help thinking what if I go with him. I must will meet many new persons and then see the beautiful scenery. I want to live as my father, when the time comes, I will travel too.

The conception of money is different for the old and the young. The old

generation believes that money should be saved in case of the urgent situation,

while most young people think that money should be spent to realize its value.

When I was struggled about the different opinions, I saw the news report about a

man got back his money that he saved in the early 1990s, which was about 1000

RMB. People made their comment that this amount of money meant so much at that

time, which could buy a nice big house, while today it was just a big meal in

the restaurant. This news inspired me to make reasonable plan of money. The old

way to treat money is not suitable, because money will lose its value as time

goes by. I choose to spend part of money while saving another part of it.

老人和年轻人对于钱的概念是不一样的。老一代认为钱应该存起来，以防紧急需要，然而大多数年轻人认为，钱花出去才能实现它的价值。在我纠结这两个不同观点时，我看见了一则新闻报道，是关于一个人拿出了他在19世纪20年代存的钱，大约1000元人民币。有人说这钱在当时就是一大笔钱，可以买一栋漂亮的大房子了，但是现在只能在餐馆大吃一顿。这个消息激发了我要合理规划金钱的想法。老一辈对待金钱的方式是不对的，因为钱随着时间的流逝价值也会贬值。我会选择花一部分、存一部分。
