It is reported that ten big cities in China are being  among the top twenty cities with the highest pollution index in the world. This means it is high time we did something to bring the situation under control.

Many factors are  to the deteriorating situation: industrial wastes pumped into the air, the lakes and rivers; a increasing number of automobiles crowding into the streets; the  use of plastic bags etc.

To my view, stiffer laws and regulations must be implemented to check pollution. Industries that release wastes without  should be heavily fined. 1.There are still many problems of environmental protection in recent years. 1·开头

冬爷爷走了，春姑娘悄悄地来到了人间。她吻了一下草地，草地苏醒了，她用手碰了一下柳树，柳树也苏醒了……

2·过程

As an engineering student majoring in environmental systems, I have strong awareness of the environment and want to work in the field of environmental protection. There are three feasible ways, in my opinion, which can raise public awareness of our surrounding environment. Firstly, the appropriate education in schools can be applied to build our concept on the importance of environment and it should be taken good care. Secondly, more and more green or environmental promotions should be carried out. For example, use public transportation more frequently instead of private vehicles; print double-sided instead of one-sided to save papers. Furthermore, researches on clean energy and sustainable development should be enhanced. The natural resources on earth is not infinite and we should seek for a better method to protect our circumstance in the long run.

Pollution has been a serious problem for a certain time around the world. There are many causes for it. Transportation is the main factor of pollution. When the waste gas from cars is released, the air is polluted. People breathing in the polluted air can develop respiratory disease. Another factor is that people throw their garbage everywhere. All kinds of garbage not only spoil the splendid environment, but also cause environmental pollution. Whats more, industrial pollution also deserves our attention. Wastewater from factories is poured into rivers and this causes water pollution. As a consequence, the greenhouse effect becomes a problem which needs our immediate caution and how to solve is urgent all over the world. At present, some measures have been taken to prevernt.

For example, people classify the garbage and some is recycled after being collected. People are also encouraged to use paper products instead of plastic products because we know that our living condition will be worse if we keep ignoring this problem. And I believe we can prevent pollution if everyone makes the efforts.

在我们中国上下五千年，其中也不乏盛世，人民生活幸福指数可能高于现在，但是对于那时环境污染的记载却几乎没有。而在近一个世纪里，尤其是最近的几十年中，环境被严重破坏，到了触目惊心的地步，人类的生存条件日渐降低，许多的生物已经绝种，大量的物种濒临灭绝，为何？

“水可载舟、亦可覆舟”这是我国博大精深文化中的一句。我认为非常有道理。最近的一个世纪，科技的兴盛，创造了无数的前所未有，但同时也带来了前所未有的大破坏。科学技术的运用发明了更多的产品，也使人类的欲望更加膨胀，带来了战争，于是大量开发矿产，破坏地形地貌，破坏了生物链，最终也破坏了人类的生存条件。

在我国五六十年代，庄稼所用的肥料都是有机肥，用家畜的粪便或用河道里的於泥，腐烂的草，土地的特性得到保持，但在使用化肥农药后，产生了一系列的恶性循环，土地日益酸碱化，农作物也受此影响，而这种现象要大自然用几百年的时间才能减弱。另外，河道中的淤泥日益增多，破坏了生态环境，加上工业污水使鱼儿无法生存，前些年，太湖大面积的发生蓝藻，使无锡市民得不到饮用水，也是这方面的因素。

而工业的发展更加剧了破坏环境的进度，石油和煤炭的大量开采，大量的排放和尾气产生了地球温室效应，使得全球气候产生了变化，引发了许多的自然灾害，如此长久下去，人类迟早会毁灭在自己的手中。

幸好人们发现了这种变化，许多国家在发展工业的进程中也加强了保护环境的意识。德国是一个人造森林最多的国家，在破坏的同时绿化相同的面积，从而保持了总的生态环境。在我国，这种做法也在逐渐推广，运用科技力量，在发展中注重环保，但是只起到一部分的作用，同样，在太湖蓝藻事件中，许多的方法只起到了表面的作用，最后，放养了大量的鲢鱼去食用蓝藻，用生态平衡法则来解决根本问题。

近几年来，在我们农村，环保意识史无前例的加强了，建立了许多生态保护区，更多品种的生物回来了，在我家后面的河面上，多了一些不认识的水鸟，爷爷说四五十年没见到了，这让人感到欣慰。

所以，我们这一代人身上的使命更神圣了，责任更大了，我们要加强环保意识，提倡“低碳”生活，处处进行“节约”生活，从细节着手，保护好我们的家园，保护好大自然，保护好我们赖以生存的地球。
