In recent years, tourism has been popular and played an important role in our nation’s economic growth. However, I am afraid that if tourism develops over, it will bring harm to the environment and give rise to many problems.

据统计，一亩树林一年可以吸收灰尘20—60吨；每天能吸收67公斤二氧化碳，释放49公斤氧气，足可供65个成年人呼吸；一亩树林一个月可以吸收有毒气体——二氧化硫千公斤；一亩松柏一昼夜能分泌出2公斤杀菌素，可杀死肺结核、伤寒、百喉、痢疾等疾病的病苗。这样就能净化空气，保障人们的身心健康。植树造林还能减少噪音，美化环境，保持生态平衡；为人们提供理想的学习、工作、娱乐和生活的环境。在意识到树木不可缺少这一点以后，人类开始种植树木：自1981年12月以来，中国全民义务植树累计超过350亿株。中国正在实施“三北”和长江中下游地区重点防护林建设、退耕还林还草、野生动植物保护及自然保护区建设、天然林保护等六大林业重点工程。至2000年底，中国的森林覆盖率已达16。55%，城市建城区人均公共绿地提高到6。52平方米，全国自然保护区总面积超过1亿公顷。据中国气象部门记录，20世纪50年代中国仅发生过5次强沙尘暴，进入90年代，则发生了23次。沙尘天气给中国社会经济造成了巨大的损失。环境污染使人类意识到环境保护的重要性。人类文明，无论在那一个发展阶段还是在整个的历史长河中，都是始终受制于人类对自然界的认识程度。当我们从这个意义上重新打量人类文明的功过时，我们便没有足够的信心来赞美今天的人类文明了，至少我们不能盲目地加以赞美。因为，直到目前，我们对自然界地认识还十分有限。可以确定无疑的是，人类只是大自然中的一员，人类的一切危害自然行为最终都将受自然的惩罚。因而，我们就不得不对当今的人类文明进行全面的检讨，也不得不对未来的人类文明深怀忧虑。

面对日益恶化的地球生态环境，人类至今都不肯放弃局部的利益，使自己的欲望日益膨胀。而人类欲望越强烈，对生态环境的、破坏也就越严重。 人类文明是地球生物圈里光照四方的伟大奇迹，它能否永久的延续下去，并不断达到新的文明高度，以致照耀久远未来的地球子民，它的命运就掌握在人类自己的手里。人类！醒悟吧！请珍惜我们赖以生存的地球，请真正做到“美丽环境——健康人类——文明发展”。

Once in the food webs, these pesticides can cause mutations, as well as diseases, which can be harmful to humans as well as the entire food web.

About 60 percent of cities are polluted in China. The rubbishes are everywhere. And the air pollution is also very serious. Exhaust fumes, household garbage and industrial refuse all can make our city dirty. So, don’t spitting ,don’t litter, don’t graffiti on the wall!Forest

The forests are being destroyed now. Acid rain, big fire and saws always break the forests unfeelingly, so, they are in danger . The number of forests are becoming less and less. Let’s plant trees and protect the forests together!River

There are many things in the river, like newspaper , oil, chemicals and heavy metal. If we drink the water that’s from the polluted river, we will get sick or die. And the plants which is near this river will die. So, don’t sewage effluent into the river!

The earth is our only home to this day, and many people know that "there is only one earth, we should love it", but some people just talk about it and do nothing. Air pollution is mainly caused by the floating of material from factories, power stations and car exhausts into the atmosphere, making the air "dusty and footless". In cities with severe air pollution, people and animals are also affected and stunted. In addition, if the atmospheric carbon dioxide content is too high, it will produce a greenhouse effect, which will melt the ice in the south and south poles and reduce the ozone layer rapidly, which will eventually lead to global warming. Water source pollution is mainly caused by waste water and climatic factors. With the increase of population and the extension of human life, mankind will face unprecedented water scarcity. Some people say that the worlds water supply will be in short supply after 2030. To this, we must pay attention to saving and protecting water resources.

Soil pollution is my concern, because soil has a huge connection to air and water. Without soil to grow plants, there is no source of air, and soil is an important survival basis for plants and animals. Without soil, we humans could die. So we must protect the soil. There are many ways to protect the soil, such as in daily life, dont bury things like disposable batteries and foam plastics into the soil. We need to start small, and everyone is helping to protect the soil.

Will Tourism Bring Harm to the Environment?

Tourism has developed by leaps and bounds in the past decades in the whole world. Therefore, the issue of whether the tourism will bring harm to the environment is becoming a matter of concern. As for me, I hold that the tourism does more harm than good to the world.

In the first place, the more places we travel to , the more pressure will be added to the environment. Take Dunhuang as an example, the greatest scourge these days comes from the tourists who swarm here by the busload , bring destructive amounts of carbon dioxide and moisture into the caves along with their eagerness for a glimpse of ages past .

Secondly, It has become fashionable for travelers to drive a private car to the place they want to . In this case ,a large number of cars are mushroomed in the road and it cause twice as much as air pollution .At this speed ,we may live in a world which is full of dirty air instead of fresh air.

In sum , although tourism is playing an indispensable role in the society , I still believe that we`d better try to limit its speed according to the harm that brings to the environment.

Last weekend, I wanted to swim in the river that I usually wen in the childhood. When I went there, I was shock. The river is no longer like before. It was full of rubbish. It seemed that the rubbish is from the villagers themselves. In order to put the rubbish nearer, they put all of them into the river. Not only the water is not clean any more, the river also smelt bad. I real touched. Why human and the environment couldn’t live harmonious? Long time ago, they could get along with each other. Why not now? People have to stop their behavior to harm the environment. Otherwise, it would cause destruction to both sides.

上周末，我想去我小时候经常去的那条河里游泳。当我去那里的时候，我很震惊。河水再也不像以前那样了。河里面到处都是垃圾。似乎这些垃圾都是村民丢的。为了不走那么远丢垃圾，他们把垃圾都丢到河里了。水不仅仅不干净还会散发出臭味。我真的触动了。为什么人类和环境不能和谐地相处呢？很久以前，他们可以好好相处。为什么现在不可以了呢？人们必须停止他们伤害环境的行为。否则，最后会是两败俱伤。
