On one hand, volunteering makes you feel good about yourself on a purely selfish level. There are few things more satisfying than helping people. Hammering nails on a new home while the owner beams with pride right next to you is an amazing feeling. Walking or running to raise funds for a cause close to your heart helps to give you a sense of purpose and helps you realize just how lucky you are. As a volunteer, you will gain new perspective, for it’s so easy for us all to get a little too wrapped up in our own lives. On the other hand, from a professional standpoint, volunteering is a great way to add to your portfolio. From press releases to design pieces, from public speaking to fundraising,

you will have the opportunity to build your portfolio. This is especially beneficial for students or young professionals, although all of us should continually work on building our portfolios.

Apart from the benefits of building up your confidence and making your portfolio better, there are probably many other benefits you will find in your volunteer work. So it is time for you to participate in more volunteer work to help others as well as help yourselves.

[支教的意义英语高考作文

每个人都有生病的时候，每次我生病的时候母亲总陪伴在我的身边。

记得七岁那年的一个晚上，我突然觉得喉咙很痛，而且浑身发热，我很不舒服，就大声哭了出来。妈妈闻声走过来，摸了摸我的额头，啊！好烫啊！赶紧从医药箱里拿出体温表，一量39.5度，妈妈吓坏了，赶紧抱着我去医院。

来到了医院，妈妈又挂号，又交钱，忙得不亦乐乎，我迷迷糊糊之中，感觉自己好像躺在一个很温暖了地方，蒙胧中睁开眼发现自己原来躺在妈妈的怀中，我心里感到很温暖、很幸福，开心地笑了起来。打了一会吊针，我的烧终于退了一点了，于是妈妈就带着我离开了医院。

妈妈背着我，一步一步地来到路边，累得满头大汗。妈妈为了让我早点休息好，叫了部的士赶回家。

到了家，妈妈并没有马上休息，而是又开始忙碌了，一会儿给我弄药吃，一会儿帮我量体温，看看有没有反复，一会儿又哄着我睡觉，一直拖着个疲惫的身体，确定我的体温正常了才合上眼睛，慢慢地睡着。

这次生病，让我体会到了母亲的温暖，母爱的伟大。我长大了之后一定要孝敬父母。

一场疫情，扰乱了我们的学习生活，为了不耽误我们的学习，于是开展了“停课不停学”的线上教学，让我们在家里也能上课。这段时间为了上网课，老师们也非常辛苦!时至今日，我们已经上了两个星期的网上教学课程了。

妈妈每天早上给我做美味早餐，且出门前都会唠叨我好好背书，上课。爸爸早上因为要照顾妹妹，送她上幼儿园，没有时间管我，出门前也会叮嘱我一下。而我也是每天早上6：30起床洗漱后，就下楼晨跑，然后回家吃早餐，再带着小布丁(狗)去一楼散步。

8：30准时开始早读课，上课前老师会在线点名，等大家都上线了，老师会亲切的跟大家打招呼，同学们也可以互相看到。9：00准时上课，老师经常会有一些互动提问，如果我被点名，头像就会显示在屏幕的桌面中间，所有的同学就都对着我看，虽然大家在一个班级里一起学习了很久，但是还会有些紧张。有摄像头对着我们，我们上课可不敢开小差，要不一定逃过老师的火眼金睛。

有一次中午自己在家炒菜做饭，一顿收拾后就13：30了，我立刻开始午休，定好14：30上课的闹钟，结果闹钟竟然没有响，还是妈妈打电话过来，我才从梦中醒来，着急忙慌地跳下床，洗了把脸，像做贼似的赶紧进入教室里。刚一进去，这时忽然听到学习机上发出老师的点名声：“杜俊熙，把摄像头对着你自己。”虽然隔着屏幕，我都能感觉到老师站在我面前似的，我赶紧把自己摆在摄像头前，回答道：“老师，我……我在。”这时我额头上都冒出了冷汗，心里想：千万不要在班级群里点我的名字呀，不然妈妈看到可就惨了。“你回答一下……”我连忙集中精神认真地回答着老师提出的问题。

下午17点下课后，又想到爸爸妈妈上班很辛苦，下了班还要马不停蹄的做饭，我开始学着做饭炒菜替他们分担一点。

晚饭后，19：30至20：30上晚自习、认真完成当天的作业并提交钉钉群，老师每次批改后，我就要去看看，今天有没有被评为“A+”。知道为什么吗?因为妈妈跟我约定了，我认真听课，作业质量优秀，能满足我一个大的愿望，这使我不由自主地感觉到内心很积极。

周末，白天我还是在家里写作业，刷题，网课生活比的就是自律，妈妈说测一下就知道我有没有认真上课了，于是给我买了资料让我做，做完作业后，我会和小区同学们一起去打篮球，打到晚上十点半才回家，那种释放压力和心情的感觉，真爽!

虽然在家上网课很方便，但我还是更想念在学校上课的日子，想念老师和同学。希望这场疫情早日退散，让我们早日回到熟悉的校园。
