The first Arbor Day took place on April 10, 1872 in Nebraska. It was the brainchild of Julius Sterling Morton (1832-1902)， a Nebraska journalist and politician originally from Michigan. More than one million trees were planted. A second Arbor Day took place in 1884 and the young state made it an annual legal holiday in 1885, using April 22nd to coincide with Mortons birthday.

In the years following that first Arbor Day, Mortons idea spread beyond Nebraska with Kansas, Tennessee, Minnesota and Ohio all proclaiming their own Arbor Days. Today all 50 states celebrate Arbor Day although the dates may vary in keeping with the local climate. (State Arbor Days) At the federal level, in 1970, President Richard Nixon proclaimed the last Friday in April as National Arbor Day. Arbor Day is also now celebrated in other countries including Australia. Variations are celebrated as Greening Week of Japan, The New Years Days of Trees in Israel, The Tree-loving Week of Korea, The Reforestation Week of Yugoslavia, The Students Afforestation Day of Iceland and The National Festival of Tree Planting in India. Julius Sterling Morton would be proud. Sometimes one good idea can make a real difference.

For the homeowner, Arbor Day is an excellent opportunity to take stock of the trees on your property and plan for the future. Inspect your trees. Note any broken branches or evidence of disease or insect infestation. Think about how planting new trees might improve the look of your property or provide wind or heat protection. Take a trip to your local nursery to see whats available and to get new ideas. Walk around your neighbourhood. 为响应省委号召，做好新冠肺炎疫情防控工作，2月22日，我报名参加省直机关工委组织的党员下沉社区志愿服务活动。虽然条件艰苦，紧张忙碌，但是使命光荣，感触颇深。

作为社区志愿服务9名党员的小组长，2月22日接到任务当天，第一时间与社区对接，明确了我们小组负责小区的卡点值守任务。同时成立了某某社区下沉党员微信联络群，了解小组成员基本情况，合理定岗排班，确定工作职责并提出工作纪律与相关要求。后续，在人员不足及个别党员因工返岗的情况下，及时与社区沟通对小组成员进行了增补。同时，在微信工作群中，对工作中出现的情况和问题，随时进行沟通和协调，保证了卡点值守工作的顺利开展。

某某小区情况复杂，有近千百户居民，超市的后门也开在小区内，进出行人和车辆频繁。在卡点值守时，我认真、耐心、细致地做好进出人员的证件查验、信息登记、体温测量、快递消杀等工作。同时积极向出入小区的居民宣传国家疫情防控工作政策，帮助年龄较大人员进行扫码登记，替不愿拿笔写字人员登记信息，拦阻不带身份证居民外出，处理居民无理由不听劝阻强行闯卡等突发情况。值守期间，遇到两场大雪，在保证值守任务不出纰漏的同时，还清理了卡点周围的积雪。

国家有难，党员义不容辞地要冲到防控疫情一线。卡点值守，接触人员多，风险比在办公室要高，为了大家的安全，担这个风险值得。我值守的卡点条件艰苦，执勤两个小时都要在室外站着，没有取暖的地方。每天执勤结束回家，都冻得腿脚痒。但是我知道，作为党员干部，疫情当前，我肩上的使命有多重要，作为社区人民安全的守护者，我有义不容辞的责任和义务，每当屹立风雪中，我有为人民服务的信心和决心，更因自己是一名党员而感到骄傲和自豪。

为大力弘扬雷锋精神，按照县文明办文件要求， 2月15日上午，周至县规住局房地产管理所组织志愿者对县城南大门周围路段、卫生死角、绿化带垃圾等进行卫生清理，以实际行动践行雷锋精神，弘扬志愿服务理念。

在活动过程中，大家不怕脏、不怕累，有的拿垃圾夹、有的拿扫把、有的拿簸箕，认真仔细对地上及绿化带内的纸屑、烟头、果皮等垃圾进行清理，重点对卫生死角进行了清理。经过一个小时的努力，南大门周围的环境卫生面貌焕然一新。

1979年，在邓主席的提议下，第五届全国人大常委会第六次会议决定每年3月12日为我国的3.12植树节。

1981年12月13日，五届全国人大四次会议讨论通过了《关于开展全民义务植树运动的决议》。这是建国以来国家最高权力机关对绿化祖国作出的第一个重大决议。从此，全民义务植树运动作为一项法律开始在全国实施。

那么大家知道植树对人类到底有什么好处吗?

首先，植树造林可使水土得到保持，哪里植被覆盖率低，哪里每逢雨季就会有大量泥沙流入河里，把田地毁坏，把河床填高，把入海口淤塞，危害极大。要抑制水土流失，就必须植树造林，因为树木有像树冠那样庞大的根系，能像巨手一般牢牢抓住土壤。而被抓住的土壤的水分，又被树根不断地吸收蓄存。据统计，一亩树林比无林地区多蓄水20吨。

其次，植树造林能防风固沙。风沙所到之处，田园会被埋葬，城市会变成废墟。要抵御风沙的袭击，必须造防护林，以减弱风的力量。风一旦遇上防护林，速度要减弱70% ~80%。如果相隔一定的距离，并行排列许多林带，再种上草，这样风能刮起的沙砾也就减少了。

再次，植树造林能为人类提供许多有用的东西。不少水果、药材都是林产品，茶叶、橡胶、新碳等更来自林木。

此外，植树造林能清除完全污染。据统计，一亩树林一年可以吸收灰尘2万—6万千克，每天能吸收67千克二氧化碳，释放出48千克氧气;一个月可以吸收有毒气体二氧化硫4千克，一亩松柏林两昼夜能分泌2千克杀菌素，可杀死肺结核、伤寒、白喉、痢疾等病菌。

植树造林还能减少噪音，美化环境，保持生态平衡，为人类提供理想的学习、工作、娱乐和生活的场所。

绿色是大自然的颜色，绿色孕育着生命与希望，没有绿色，就没有我们人类。

在3.12植树节到来之际，人们纷纷走向田野山岗，履行公民的植树义务。许多人用种植纪念树、营造纪念林、公益林的形式，既绿化环境、减少污染，又铭志于树，寄情于林。

7月25日---8月3日，XX中学组织2014级高一新生80人在XX工商职业技术学院内开展为期10天的夏令营活动，根据活动安排，我负责对学生进行英语学法指导，根据新生特点，我提前制定了教学计划、教学目标。本次参加夏令营的学生为高一年级排名靠前的新生，为培养他们良好的学习习惯，坚强的学习意志，迅速适应高中学习，将来把他们打造成为品学兼优的尖子生。学生们的中考成绩虽然较好，但是英语综合运用语言的能力还很差，一到高一就会迅速滑坡，因此上好初高中的衔接课至关重要。

为使学生了解高中英语学习特点，在四节指导课中我以写作指导贯穿始终，通过听说读写训练，开阔视野，激发英语学习兴趣。通过语言实践，培养学生运用语言的能力，并运用已知的语法知识发现错误，纠正错误。帮助他们树立信心，从容应对新学期，新学习，新挑战。引导学生运用英语进行交流，写作，并且有意识的进行自我修正，培养发现问题，分析问题，解决问题以及自主学习的能力。

4节课内容初步安排如下：

第一节课

听说训练:以新学期，新环境为主题，师生互动，相互了解，鼓励学生大胆开口用英语进行交流，教师适时提供句型表达使交流内容丰满。

第二节课

说写训练：以新环境为主题，让学生了解修文及修文中学的概况，和学生一起讨论描述地点的有用表达，引导学生写一篇介绍修文中学的短文。

写后任务：

将写作评价表(自我评价和同伴评价)发给学生，指导如何进行评价，要求第二天交。

第三节课

短文改错解题指导。结合学生写的文章，找出常犯的错误，提前打印好有语病的句子，共同分析错误原因。

第四节课(讲座)

英语书面表达要注意的几个问题(主要结合高考评卷中反映出的学生答题出现的突出问题，提出平时学生在书面表达训练中应该强化训练的方向，应该积累的知识等等)

四节课的指导收到了较好的效果，学生从不愿意开口讲英语到能够比较积极的参与课堂活动，能够比较认真的完成布置的任务，大部分学生英语写作能力较好。

但是，在教学中也暴露出了他们的一些不足：

1. 学习的主动性和积极性还有待大大提高，良好的学习习惯还有待养成。比如在课堂上教师所讲的内容大部份学生还没有形成及时记笔记的习惯，老师提醒记下来才动笔，没有记完全的内容课后也不会找其他同学的笔记补充完整;老师要求上交的学习任务只有一半的学生能够按照规定时间上交，其余的是拖延一天才完成，学习上的紧迫感和竞争意识不强。

2.自主学习能力和合作学习需要花很大功夫培养。可能因为初中的学习多数时间都是在完成老师的任务，按照老师的要求做，很少有自己的“主见”，所以遇到放手自己安排学习和同伴合作时就无所适从，做得很不好。而到了高中学习阶段，这两方面的能力不能大幅度提高的话，学习的效果不会太好。

3.课外知识严重匮乏。主要体现在老师问到很多常识绝大多数学生都不知道。以往的学习还是只停留在书本知识上，可见有用的课外书的阅读量太少，知识面太窄。

这些不足将会严重影响他们今后学习迅速的提高，在今后的教学当中要针对性的，有目的的进行训练，要想又快又好的出成绩，老师的任务任重道远。

[英语夏令营活动意义

When the bell rang, the students stepped out of the classroom and went to the playground to take part in their favorite activities. The campus is boiling up immediately.

Last Saturday--April 28th, my classmates and I went to the park near my school. Can you guess what we did there?Not for amusement but to take part in a volunteer labour.

We reached the park at nine oclock. The whole class was divided into three groups. I was in Group Three.

Each group had different tasks. Group One planted trees and watered flowers. Group Two was told to pick up litter left by the tourists and cleaned all the benches. The group that I was in wiped all the equipment in the Childrens Playground. All of us worked hard.

Before noon we finished working. Each of us felt a little bit tired, but we were happy because we had done a good deed.
