The person who had said such moving words was a 17-year-old girl --- Bella, who was a high school student. After reading the whole novel, what impresses me most is not the mysterious vampires family, but the kindhearted and brave girl --- Bella. Actually, some people may wonder why Edward would fall in love with such a delicate human girl, while others may hold a doubtful attitude towards their love story. However, to my mind, I strongly believe that Bella and Edward can lead a happy life. Bella is a kindhearted and independent girl who never goes with tide. She always sticks to her own way of doing everything. On her first day to school, Edward came across with Bella, and at that moment Edward could not move his eyes on Bella at his first sight on her. I clearly know that it was Bella’s unique and special character that drew Edward’s attention. In Edward’s mind, Bella was a natural girl with a kind heart. After several days’ struggle, Edward could not prevent himself from caring about her and loving her though he knew perfectly well that it would be a fateful and deadly thing for a vampire to fall in love with a human girl. From this, it can be seemed that what a charismatic and glamorous girl Bella was.

When Edward said to Bella, “I don’t have the strength to stay away from you forever.” I know, Edward had already been loving Bella deeply.

When Bella answered “I’ll be with you forever, Edward.” I can realize their love has already been surpassed human in human’s innermost feelings.

When Edward said, “You don’t know how long I’ve waited for you, Bella” I know, Bella is the most suitable one for him, only with Bella can Edward gains the real happiness.

To be honest, Twilight is the best romance novel that I’ve ever read. There is no much flourish in it, but there are lots of touching and thrilling plots between Edward and Bella. I still remember every time Bella was in danger, Edward could helped her out in time, which made Bella feel so grateful and become interested in him gradually.

There was a time when Bella was on her way home from a bookstore alone, suddenly a gang of ruffians molested her, Bella felt helpless and hopeless. Fortunately, Edward appeared as a hero and rescued the beauty, Bella. At that moment, I couldn’t help praising, that Edward was such a thoughtful gentleman who cares about the person he loves at any time. No wonder Bella would love him.

Then when Edward told Bella he had a super strength that he could read every person’s mind except Bella’s one. You can not imagine that, Bella’s first reaction to it was --- “Is there something wrong with me?” Hearing that, Edward smiled and said, “I tell you I can read minds, and you think there is something wrong with you.” At that time, Edward knew Bella was a kind girl indeed, who would not be worried and scared when hearing such unusual truth, but just try to find the mistakes of herself.

Once Edward took Bella to his home to meet his family members, instead of being afraid, Bella asked Edward what if his families didn’t like her. Bella pursued the true love belong to her bravely, while Edward was giving all his love to the one he loved. I know this is love.

All in all, romantic love always has a happy ending. When Bella went through life and death, when Edward experienced the cruel ordeal, seeing they were dancing romantically at last, I can say their love will be going on.

When I was a freshman in college I watched the film Gua Sha Treatment for the first time, now I am a junior student and I come back to review the movie from a multicultural aspect, I have many different feelings after watching the film again.

At the beginning of the film, XuDatong is given an award and later he delivers a speech. What makes me impressed most is in his speech he says “one day I will become one of you, a truly successful American, today this award proved that America is a true land of opportunity and I am the living proof of that.” At that moment Xu thinks he has realized his American Dream totally with his lovingly wife and adorable son. However, I think it is ironical that to make a speech like that and I assume it is made on purpose to hind a clue for the story’s development. How many non-American people have such a beautiful American dream? One of my classmate studies in American now and before he went aboard he told me his American dream is he can stand at the top of the New York. To be honest, I also dream that one day I can get the Green Card living there happily and successfully maybe working at the Wall Street. When Xu gets the award he thinks he entirely melted in the melting pot neglecting the multicultural obstruct, later the plot goes against the way he thinks. And later Quinlan asked Xu ‘why you be the scapegoat of your father?’ Xu answers ‘because he is Chinese.’ Then maybe Xu knows that there is always a wide gap between Chinese and American cultures.

The fourth aspect is following the procedure, in the film, more than there times, the people focus on the rule, the law, the procedure. At the Christmas Eve Xu wants to return back to his home pretending as a Santa Claus, what a pity, the security recognizes him and persuades ‘you are always a good tenement, never causes troubles for me.’ And another scene is at the end of the film , the judge says ‘I have to follow the procedure.’ However, in China people always have to ask for a favor to do something, and later you have to pay back the favor ，for myself, I prefer the American style, strict to the procedure.

The fifth and the last point is the humors, Quinlan says ‘you can’t fall, your health security is the company paid.’ ‘Datong, welcome home, maybe next time, you can come from the front door.’ ‘dady, why you come from the window’ ‘ because we don’t have a chimney.’ I really adore this distinguished American humor, especially in dangerous situations, which is quite rare in China.

I have got a lot of interesting scientific knowledge from the books of National Geographic Reading Expeditions, some of which are about life, physics. I really can’t help losing myself in the colorful pictures and clear words in the books. After reading the books, I have been considering a question: What if we lived without science? Great changes have taken place in the world with the help of science. In the past, life was nasty, brutish and short. It is hard to imagine how our forefathers could do without so many conveniences that modern science brings about. Back then, only a small group of people enjoyed the very few comforts. But the majority of people didn’t even have sufficient food, let along their privilege to be educated. Anyway, it is science that changes the world and makes people’s life better and better, although it also leads to some bad aspects at the same time.

From the discovery of the gravity to the first step on the moon, we human beings have experienced a long process of developing science. And now, this process is still continuing much faster. New organisms are already being engineered, and new genetically modified crops promise benefits from higher yields and less use of harmful chemicals and so on. A lot of examples are showing this point. In the future, changes are likely to be even much greater as science reaches out to shape life itself. Maybe one day, the possibility that life existed on Mars billions of years ago will be potentially one of the greatest discoveries of our time. It is the force of the competition, we human beings’ inquiring mind and initiative that bring about the non-stopped development of science. Therefore, it is difficult and impossible to prevent science from changing the world and our life as well.

At present, we are in two minds about science. On the one hand, we are enjoying the sweet life as a result of the evelopment of science, and expect it to continue. And we are showing our interests into some scientific expeditions, such as the astronomy, the alien civilization, etc. On the other hand, we are distrustful of it, due to the lack of understanding of science. Some people thus far are still very superstitious, and they would even believe in superstitions rather than believe in science.

Stephen Hawking, one of the most remarkable scientists in the world, once said, “In a democratic society, the public needs to have a basic understanding of the science, so that it can make informed decisions and not leave them in the hands of experts.” This has reminded me of Professor Alan G. MacDiarmid from America, the person who got the Nobel Prize for chemistry in the year of XX. In his lecture at Peking University this year, he put forward that science is people. He also expounded the importance of the basic science for the public. Evidently, every one of us does need science, or we can’t live without it.

Now that everyone needs science, why not take advantage of some means to give the public the right basic scientific knowledge? So when they face the problems such as acid rain, the greenhouse effect, nuclear weapons, environment destruction and some other problems, they can also make informed decisions on these subjects, just as what Hawking said. One aspect relies on what is taught in schools. But science is often taught in an uninteresting way and most students just learn it by rote to pass examinations. However, the final goal of learning science is not to pass examinations or to get a higher score; instead, we should try to make full use of it to change our world and life. While learning, we should try to ask more questions and we should have the courage of suspecting the knowledge in the books, as some of the scientific conclusions are likely to be corrected in the future. Who knows. So not only must we change our attitude towards science, but also the way of teaching and learning science.

Recently， I have read a very interesting book， the Adventures of Tom Sawyer。 And the companion volume is the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn。 This book described an American boy， Tom Sawyer’s fantastic adventure。 The author of this novel is one of my favorite writers， Mark Twain， who was honored as the literary giant and was good at writing satirical novels。 The reason that I enjoy Mark Twain’s composition is that he always brought me into a funny world by using very simple description but perfect writing skills and attractive story structures。 Nevertheless， when I finished reading his words， I would think some deeper and serious things that he wanted to convey to us。 The style of Mark Twain’s composition is humorous but actually very sharp， which exposed the weakness and the hypocrite of human nature and expressed his desiring for a perfect and ideal world。

You don"t know about me if you haven"t read a book called the Adventures of Tom Sawyer。 Mr。 Mark Twain wrote the book and most of it is true。 The heroin of this novel， Tom Sawyer， was a brave and active boy。 But he got tired of his family， his school as well as the church。 He was not satisfied with a hidebound life but dreamed of a free and venturesome life。 This naughty but clever boy lost his parents since child。 Thus he lived with his aunt who loved him very much。 He always escaped from school， and played various games with his friends。 He even fell in love with a girl and tried again and again to win her favor。 One day， Tom and his friend Huck came across a murdering。 An Indian Joe killed a doctor because of disagreement and imputed it to another partner Porter。 The two young boys were extremely frightened and decided to keep the secret。 But actually Tom was anxious all the time。 After that， Tom had conflict with the girl， he leaved at home with Huck angrily and started their adventure。 People in the town thought that they had died。 When they held funeral for these boys， Tom and his friends appeared。 Since then， Tom became hero in school， and reconciled with that girl。 Soon， the court was about to judge that murder case。 When everyone considered Porter as the murderer， Tom bravely exposed the true murderer Joe。 But unfortunately， Joe ran away， so Tom was trapped into enormous anxiety。 Once time， Tom met a partner of Joe in a haunted house。 He heard that they would go to find treasure。 Several days later， Tom went to a picnic with his friends。 But he and the girl Becky got lost in a cave。 They had suffered from hunger， thirsty， darkness and coldness for days in that cave。 Worse still， they found that Indian Joe also in that cave。 This time， all the town folk believed that they must have die。 Especially Tom’ aunt and Thatcher were in deep sorrow。 Beyond people’ expectation， Tom and Becky found the way， and was sent to their home by others。 And because of this accident， the cave was sealed。 When Tom heard that， he told the judge that Joe was still stay at that cave。 When the judge fetched someone to check it， Joe had died in the cave。 Then， Tom and Huck got into that cave again， and found the treasure that Joe and his partner were finding。 Tom got a happy ending， he became a rich man and was popular in his town。

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a clear reflection of the child"s life is full of Children"s novels。 I have to say that clever Tom reminded me of my childhood。 We always lost something as we grow up and gradually got lost in our life。 A child would not tell lies to other， a child would speak out their feelings without hesitation， a child would care too much about other’s opinions， and a child would bravely do what they wanted。 Likewise， in that time， people were pretty reserve， and they did not dare to tell their own ideas， neither fight against the tradition。 But Tom was brave。 He challenged the tradition。 He never restricted himself into school or homework like other child， he loved adventure and different challenges instead。 He exposed the true murderer even though he might be dangerous。 So the author Mark Twain designed a good ending for Tom。

It was Mark Twain’s humor that attracted me most。 But there was not only humor， people who read his books would learn something serious。 He told us： tell the truth forever， such of words you need not record you to once say somewhat。 Someone said that Mark Twain gave pleasurereal intellectual enjoyment to millions， and his work will continue to give such pleasure to millions yet to come。 His humor was American， but he was nearly as much appreciated by Englishmen and people of other countries as by his own countrymen。 He has made an enduring part of American literature。

In a word， I gained much from this fantastic novel， and learned a lot from Tom Sawyer。 And I believe that these harvests will have great effects on my whole life。

A Little Princess is a touching novel written by Frances Hodgson Burnett—a famous novelist and dramatist. The novel portrayed the real condition of working horses living in Britain during the Victorian Era. In that time period, the wealthy thought that their horses were treated well because they never stepped into the stable. In order to call people’s attention to horses’ hard life, Sewell tells the story through the first-person narrative voice of a horse. This innovative personification of an animal made the book a real success. Readers heard the stories straight from the horse’s mouth, literally, as an animal spoke of extremes of joy and suffering. Sewell formed the novel with three kinds of characters: Black Beauty, Ginger and other farm animals. Through their different experiences, I saw similarly painful lives led by the animals. This method made the earnest appeal for animal rights become more and more persuasive.

I first read this book when I was in my fifteens. And now I remember it just as well as if I had read it yesterday.

Pride and Prejudice is a chefdoeuvre.

My first impression of this story was from screen.

Its long long ago, maybe before I can read english books. I dont remember which movie edition I had seen. But I was impressed by the music, the scenery and the costume. I was very favor of a section of music in its balls. Its pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. Regarding to the characters, I liked Elizabeth, the heroine,though I didnt think shes beautiful. But shes smart. However, I didnt pay much attention to the plot. I thought its so long that it made me impatient and bored. By now, I havent read the whole story in English or its Chinese version, either. I owe it to my prejudice.

In fact, I didnt understand the story at that time. I didnt know why it called Pride and Prejudice. Of course someone was pride, but I didnt find where s the prejudice. I thought its normal, the way people treated each other in that. I considered prejudice would be very disgusting. But to the movie everthing was OK in my minds, except its length. Now, I think I have understood more about it. Im a prejudiced person so I cant find wheres wrong. I merely like to do the things I like. This year summer vacation, I read the American well-known writer Hemingways novel “ old person and sea ”。 I extremely admire in the novel the senior fishermans will, he let me understand one person certainly must have relentless spirit, only then could obtain successfully.

The novel description is one year near sixty years of age senior fisherman, when alone goes to sea in one fishing, fished one big fish, actually did not pull. The senior fisherman socialized several days after the fish, only then discovered this was the big marlin which one surpassed the oneself fishing boat several fold, although knew perfectly well very difficult to win, but still did not give up. Only has this, we only then can obtain a bigger success and the victory.

The character of Heidi show kindneand innocence of happineand joy. After reading this book, I read a lot. I saw Heidi be happy in doing good, helping others. Heidi used the pure personality and love to warm her the appearance of indifference but kind-hearted grandfather. She accompanied the blind grandmother talk, chat, make what is invisible blind grandmother found a life of joy and fun, grandma is no longer lonely. She helped kind paralyzed girl Clara, in Heidi and uncle "s encouragement, Clara used his power to learn to walk. And the young Peter under the influence of Heidi, also gradually began to learn, to be an honest child. When I heard the name of this novel, I thought it was a horror fiction. But after reading it , I find it is a interesting story.

In the novel, dead man’s island was a funny island; there was a dead man living there. The heroine---Carol Sanders started to abandon herself to taking drugs after her father’s death. Her mother took her to a new place to help her forget the past. They came to London. There her mother got a job which took them to the dead man’s island. In fact , it’s a small private island in Scotland. The owner of the island is Mr. Ross.

Everything went well. But Carol Sander found something strange: Never took photographs of Mr. Ross and there is a strange room locked.

Why did Mrs. Ross have so much money to buy a island? Why can’t take photographs of Ms. Ross? Why did Mr. Ross have a room locked?

It’s really absorbing. I want to get all the answers.

In fact, there was a big secret about this island. Mr. Ross was a pop singer in the past. His real name is Jack Rosso. He had taken drugs and killed a young girl when he was a singer. He wanted to forget the past; he wanted to have a new life. So he bought a island to hide his secret. The other people on this island are his family. Actually, Jack Rosso was the “dead man” on the dead man’s island.

All the puzzles have been solved. Carol Sanders and Jack Rosso all had their backdoor past. They all wanted to hide their past. They all wanted to go to a new place and have a new life.

Everyone has personal secret. Everyone has personal past. The novel tells me something about secret. Happy memory makes us happy; heartbroken memory makes us unhappy. It’s right to deposit happy memory and throw away heartbroken memory. Forget all the unhappy things; you may have a more beautiful future.

As the novel tells me, keep you bad memory as a secret and keep it in your mind forever.

Dead man’s island is not for “dead man”. It’s just for someone who has secrets. It’s a place for you to forget the unhappy past. It’s a place for you to start your new life. In fact, it’s also a good place to live.
