this will involve ever increasing quantities of agriculture chemicals. from this, it is apparent that drastic steps must be taken immediately to develop corrective measures for the pollution problems.

there are two ways by which these pollution problems can be lessened. the first relates to the treatment of wastes to decrease their pollution hazard. this involves the processing of solid wastes "prior to" disposal and the treatment of liquid wastes to permit the reuse to the water or best reduce pollution upon final disposal.

the second approach is to develop an economic use for all or part of the wastes. farm manure is spread in fields as a nutrient. wastes from sewage disposal plants are used in some areas both for irrigation and for the nutrients contained.

liquid wastes from other processing plants may also be used as a supplemental source of water. only by doing these promptly now can we epect to solve the serious water problems in the future.

With the development of communication technology, people in fact become alienated with friends and relatives since they could be so easily accessed via phone or email. Too often we feel that few of our friends are true friends, without the traditional feeling of mutual affection which could only be created by longtime apart. But several decades ago, people treasured their friends and maintained relatively close interpersonal relations, which is much more enjoyable than the estrangements we are experiencing.

The last factor that has made our age so uncomfortable is the abusive use of technology. Although it brings much convenience, it essentially changes human – we are no longer the master of tools, but instead the slaves of devices. We rush to metro station in order to catch an early train, sit in front of radioactive computers all day long in order to get our work done, and stay in air-conditioned rooms all summer without experiencing the natural changes outside thick cement walls. Several decades ago, people could still live closer to nature and make rational use of modern technology, which to me is the essence of human living experience.

However, the comparison between different times is itself ridiculous. The criteria could not be easily determined, and opinions are highly personal. Anyway, we have a longer life span, more advanced medical facilities, and easier traffic than our grandparent when they were children, and we should treasure the present experience. 那是一个星期五的下午，太阳明晃晃地挂在天空，然而我却怎么也高兴不起来。马上就要接近期中考试了，复习摸底考试卷上一道道红色的叉，像小刀一样扎着我的心。回家的路似乎很长，路边无暇顾及的风景消失在身后。

等待红绿灯的十字路口，一簇簇盛开的丁香花突然映入眼帘，小小的花蕾，圆圆的，好像奶奶衣襟上的盘花扣，淡淡的清香扑鼻而来，一时间所有的不快消失得无影无踪。

一条不知来自何处的流浪狗迎面走来，后腿蜷缩着，一瘸一拐费劲地走着。浑身上下沾满泥土，脏兮兮的，穿过了十字路口。我瞅了一眼这条受伤的小狗，自言自语道：“这是谁家的小狗呀，多可怜。”小狗可怜巴巴地望着我，眼神里流露着乞求。好像在说“救救我吧，救救我吧……给我一点吃的吧！”我看着它卖力摇着尾巴讨好我的样子，心里不由得生出一丝怜惜。可是想想还没有完成的作业，令人讨厌的红叉，顿时又担忧起来。现在不回家，妈妈肯定会责备我的，于是加快脚步，头也不回地朝家的方向跑去。

终于到家门口了，我突然间想到了自己遗忘在学校的复习试卷，于是又朝向学校的方向走去。又路过那个十字路口，我惊讶地发现，一个小男孩正在把自己的午饭喂给流浪的小狗，还用自己的红领巾包扎了小狗受伤的后腿。这一刻，我深感惭愧，从小男孩的身上，我看到了人性的善良，看到了生活的美，这美，无处不在。

I am a first-year student in Nanjing University. Every day, I have a very busy and full schedule.

Education is very important to students. The reason is that our achievement determines whether or not we can early out duties to our country in the future.

I get up early every morning to prepare my lessons. Then I attend classes. The last two periods in the afternoon are usually free. I spend them either on the sports ground or in the library. In the evening I try to complete all the assignments on time.

On the weekends, I like to watch TV or go to the films.

As the pace of life continues to increase, we are fast losing the art of

relaxation.Once you are in the habit of rushing through life, being on the go

from morning till night,it is hard to slow down. But relaxation is essential for

a healthy mind and body. Stress is a natural part of everyday life and there is

no way to avoid it. In fact, it is not the bad thing as it is often supposed to

be. A certain amount of stress is vital to provide motivation and give purpose

to life. It is only when the stress gets out of control can it lead to poor

performance and iiihealth. The amount of stress a person can withstand depends

very much on the individual. Some people are not afraid of stress, and such

characters are obviously prime material for managerial responsibilities. Others

lose heart at the first signs of unusual difficulties. When exposed to stress,

in whatever form, we react both chemically and physically. In fact, we make a

choice between "flight or fight"and in more primitive days the choices made the

difference between life or death.The crises we meet today are unlikely to be so

extreme, but however little the stress, it involves the same response. It is

when such a reaction lasts long, through continued exposure to stress, that

health becomes endangered. Such serious conditions as high blood pressure and

heart diseases have established links with stress. Since we cannot remove stress

from our lives (it would be unwise to do so even if we could), we need to find

ways to deal with it.

昨天晚上，我做完作业后太疲倦了，倒在床上就睡着了，不知不觉，我进入到了梦境。

我来到了20年后的家乡。这时，我已经成为了一名著名的科学家。我乘着“穿越汽车”来到了我的家乡。啊！家乡的变化可真大呀！家家户户几乎都有汽车，汽车的动力主要是靠太阳能。太阳能汽车绿色环保，对空气没有任何污染。而且，汽车里面还有一种防碰撞的功能。当两辆车即将发生碰撞的时候，它们就会自动减速，而且适当改变方向，防止碰撞。多么神奇呀！

我把车停好，来到了家门前，爸爸妈妈笑脸相迎。我走进家门，发现房子和以前没有什么变化。我正纳闷，妈妈好像看出了我的心思。她在门旁边摁了一下按钮，顿时，房子里面变得金碧辉煌，给人一种梦幻般的感觉。妈妈笑着对我说：“你看见门旁边还有一个按钮吗？它是调节室内温度的。可以根据需要调节你想要的温度。”“它是依靠电能吗？”我不解地问道。“它不需要耗费电，完全依靠太阳能。”妈妈高兴的说。

接下来，我和爸爸妈妈一起来到了农场。“咦，这里怎么没有一个农民伯伯，只有一些机器人在田地里忙碌？”我疑惑不解地问道。爸爸听了哈哈大笑，自豪地说：“农民伯伯都在办公室里操纵这些机器人呢？神奇吧！”“真是太神奇了！”我不由自主的感叹道。

我继续往前走，前面有一块菜园，里面的番茄有足球那么大，黄瓜有一米多长，茄子大得像冬瓜…………我正疑惑不解，爸爸笑着对我说：“这没有什么，这都是转基因的功劳。”“嘻嘻，家乡的变化可真大呀！”我不禁感叹道。

“懒虫，起床；懒虫，起床。”我被我的闹钟吵醒了。到早上啦！原来这是一场梦啊！我迷迷糊糊地下了床，心想：“我以后一定要勤奋学习，学好本领，争取让梦境变为现实。”
