Dear Sir,

I understand your well-respected college offers a number of places to overseas students every year, and I am writing to enquire about the application procedure.

I am at present a student at Mary High School, Hong Kong, where I have been studying for the past five years. I passed the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination last year with distinctions in English and History, and credits in Economics and English Literature. My advanced-level subjects are History, Economics and English Literature. In addition to these subjects, "Use of English" is also a compulsory subject because a pass in English is a minimum requirement for admission to most faculties of the University of Hong Kong.

Apart from academic work, I have been actively involved in extra-curricular activities. I am Chairman of the English Club and I have represented my school in many inter-school contests.

On the advice of my friends, I have decided to further my studies in England because I wish to widen my horizons and benefit from the scholarly heritage of your country.

I wish to continue to study the above-mentioned subjects at your college in the 2006/7 academic year before I sit the Advanced-level Examinations in England.

As regards my character, Mrs. Chen, my Principal, and Mr. Huang, my English master, have agreed to act as my references.

As I come from a family of fairly limited means, I would like to know if there is any financial assistance available for overseas students.

只有当他成为自己的主人并遵循一些生活规则时，他才能管住自己的行为，我们才认为他是一个守纪律的人。这样的纪律具有灵活性概念即不易被明白又不易被采用。但它包含一个伟大的教育原则，它不一样于旧式教育里那种绝对的，不容辩驳的高压政策下的不许动的原则。

心得：

这一段话给我的教学路程上点燃了一盏明灯。回顾自己以前的教学过程中也曾想约束孩子。当孩子们说话时觉得他们太吵了，期望他们安静。但是这种约束对孩子们没有任何作用。相反孩子们想说的、想做的欲望却更强烈。正因在此时我是主人，而孩子们是服从者。因此他们的行为不是发自内心的，而是外人强加的，因此孩子们的安静时一时的，只要我一离开，他们便会很快的开始交谈起来。

当我接触蒙氏教育，开始了解蒙氏时，尤其当我阅读了这段话语之后，我才找到了真正管理孩子的方法，想让孩子遵循一些生活规则不是去管理他，而是让他成为教室的主人。

作为教师的我们要忘记那些不许动的原则，正因这种不许动的背后，隐藏的是孩子们那种强烈的我要动的欲望。因此不管用什么活动，我们都就应让孩子去动，在满足孩子需求的前提下提出要求，这时孩子们安静了，有秩序了，这是孩子们自己的纪律。在自由之后所获得的纪律。

因此这让我深深感受到了，不管什么时候，孩子才是他自己的主人，当他成为自己的主人时，老师只需要给予正确的引导，他就能很好的发展。

正确看待孩子之间的争吵，有利于孩子心智、交往等方面潜质的提高。在孩子园里，争吵、告小状，是一种常见现象，有时为一把小椅子，甚至一点儿小纸片儿也会争起来，教师应对这种现象，常常是采取简单的阻止方法。从表面上看，教师是在制约孩子的不良行为，似乎充当了正面施教的主角，其实教师这时就应用发展的眼光来看待这种现象的发生。正因对于孩子来说，争吵、闹纠纷并非都是坏事，而且往往有着成人施教所不能替代的重要好处。教师就应透过孩子们的争吵和纠纷，去了解孩子心中的世界，了解他们对于事物的看法，从而帮忙他们提高分析问题和解决问题的潜质。

争吵或闹纠纷，使孩子的语言表达潜质有可能得到锻炼，一次户外活动，我将孩子带到放有轮胎的教学楼顶玩滚轮胎。轮胎只有十一个，孩子却是几十。这时许多行动慢一点的孩子空着手跑过来找我说：琨琨、星星有轮胎都不让我玩，我笑着说：是吗?想个好办法也能玩到的，去想想办法吧!有的孩子听我这么一说，就跑去从别人手上夺，力量强的仍能玩着，弱一点的便被夺走了。这时不断有老师，某某抢我的轮胎的叫声，琨琨也跑过来大声叫着：老师，雨桐把我的轮胎抢去了!雨桐小小的个子，敢夺琨琨的?我正在疑惑，雨桐也不示弱，说：他玩好了，都流汗了。琨琨不服气地说：我没玩好，还要玩!雨桐说：光你想玩，我也想玩一会儿!两人你一言我一语，争辩不止。这时有孩子喊老师，有人打架了其实，从我对他们说想个好办法时我就看在眼里，听在耳里，只是为了锻炼孩子们的交往潜质，有意让他们自己去玩到轮胎。当看他俩争执不下，才决定去处理的。我心平气和地问：雨桐，你为什么抢琨琨的玩具?雨桐见我先让他解释理由，就得意地说：老师，你看琨琨玩得头上都出汗了，还不让我玩玩。之后我又用商量的口气对雨桐说：雨桐，琨琨和你一齐玩好不?这时雨桐想将轮胎送给老师，老师接过轮胎做了个向他们方向滚的动作，俩孩子咯咯笑着

追轮胎去了。

I am very excited! We are taking a vacatim. Around china. We are going to harbin by train. We are going sightseeing there. After. We go to see snow. And go to the beach. Playing volleyball beach. Then we going hiking in the mauntains. We are very happy. Show you our photos when we go back to school. today I very tire,But I very happy!

The environment has been polluted badly today and the nature punishes the

human being by all kinds of disasters, such as the heavy haze in Beijing, which

damages people’s health. World Environment Day is on June 5th. It pays attention

to call for the public to make an effort to bring the world a clean

environment.

Look at the pollution around us, which exists everywhere. The cars release

the gas which pollutes the air and the rubbish can be found in every corner of

the street. All of these daily incidents hurts the world we live. Especially the

factories, they release the heavy smoke and make the sky becomes dark. What’s

more, the wasted water flows to the clean river.

Though the government has made some action to punish the businessmen for

releasing the polluted sources, they still dare to take the risk of earning the

biggest profit. If we hurt the environment, it will hurt ourselves, because we

live together. The polluted environment threatens our health. If we want to live

the comfortable life, then the only way is to be nice to the environment.

My favorite star isSangLan. She is one of the best gymnasts in our country and she is very beautiful. Her smile like sunshine makes everyone happy.

Unluckily she was hurt badly in a contest. Since then she hasnt stood up. But she faces the fact bravely and overcomes all kinds of difficulties.

Now she is studying hard in Beijing University. She wants to do some useful things for our country after graduation. Her spirit encourages many people.

Last Sunday， our class held aSpringOutingin the forest park. It was a nice day. The sun was shining brightly and the flowers were swaying in the spring breeze. We took a lot of pictures and had our favorite snacks on the bench. The girls talked about their favorite movie starts and the boys played football on the ground. We had so much fun.

I love spring outing because we don’t need to do the homework.

In recent years, there are more and more Confucius Institutes being built

all around the world, which shows that our Chinese culture become much more

popular than ever. As one of the four ancient civilizations, China has long

history and creates many splendid cultures. The ancient culture once had great

influence on the world, such as Japan, South Korea and other Asian and European

countries.

From the respect of school, Confucianism, Mohism, Taoism, and Legalism are

the main schools created in ancient China, and they also have great influence on

the Modern China and the world, especially the Confucianism. They deeply root in

traditional Chinese culture and people’s daily lives.

Specially, kung fu, traditional Chinese painting, poem, opera, cooking,

clothing, architecture and many other kinds of cultural forms make up the

splendid Chinese culture. The kinds listed above are the typical ones which

connect to each other at the same time. For example, painting, clothing and

architecture has many things in common. And each kind of cultural form contains

numerous intentions.

In short, Chinese culture are the accumulation of Chinese history, which

makes Chinese culture colorful and prosperous. If one wants to know or study

Chinese culture deeply, he or she must spend much time in it, otherwise he or

she can only get the tip of an iceberg.

A说了些话，不久反悔了，就和听到这些话的人不了了之了，我觉得A的做法不对，要离A远点.

B说了些话，不久变卦了，就向当初听到这些话的人解释我为什么改口，我觉得B蛮有意思的，不是个坏人.

C说了些话，不久还在说这些话，我觉得C有毛病，同情之余，却也懒得理C.

D说了些话，不久死了，我看着D的遗照，怎么也想不起D说话的腔调了，心里是说不出的惆怅.

于是，我就想要把身边ABCEFG等一干人的声音录下来，最好还能合拍几张照，甚至拍拍DV，这样就算塌实多了，以免日后心空洞洞的.

但是，我依旧觉得A不是个东西，B还像个人样，C就是那么让他去吧.

光是记录，而不去改变，这样好么?

虽然大贤罗素说过："参差多态，乃幸福本源"，可是，参差的程度太厉害，就难免产生偏见了.恩，说到偏见，那可多了去了，ABCDEFG...没几个让我看了不爽，恨不得把我的脑袋拧下来塞到他们的脖子上.

上述的想法虽然不太冷静，但却是最为真实，最为触及矛盾核心的比方!

意识到当时自己还没能力解决其中问题，就这么插科打诨混到了18岁.那日子倒也不难熬，因为发现了电视和电影.不过，电影电视看多了，感觉满脑子都进了水，智商一路狂掉，没有锐气了.

还好，脱住院的福，读了点自认为了不起的文字.于是，产生了这样的价值观：所有的参差多态，我压根没必要去管，把我自己的差距和ABCDE拉开来就OK了，人家能不能赶上我，远没有我能不能把人家甩远来得重要!

最后，抖点包袱：机缘巧合，我看到了这样一句话："男生不能不读王小波，女生不能不读周国平"我承认，我是奔着媚俗的想法，即想要找点能把ABCDEFG比下去的资本底气而去看王的的(本来也要看周的，但卖光了).至于对我产生了何种效应，我也说不上来，只是至少，觉得"参差多态"，如果能借助文字，写出来，一吐为快，比起得过且过谈恋爱，倒也清爽，也更有价值.

During the winter vacation, nothing is different for my life. I wake up 11

oclock Am everyday, after a washing, I have a good lunch with my parents. Next

I play computer games till the time to have supper. After have dinner. I go on

playing till 2 oclock Am, and then go to sleep with tired. This is one dull day

of my winter vacation.

But I havent bored all the time. Sometimes I read the books, sometime I

listen to the music or the radio in the bed, because it was very cold outside

and snowy all the day. And I also meat some of my good friends during the

vacation, we have a very long talk about the life of each other in the past year

and play table tennis tegether. And I watched the spring festival party of the

CCTV in the last seconds of the 2004 year! I think this is the thing most people

of china doing at that time.

Thats all, all my dull, coldly and snowy winter vacation.

前几天，妈妈给我买回一套四大名著，我迫不及待地拿着《西游记》看了起来。我日也看，夜也看，吃饭睡觉都拿着书，妈妈笑着说：“你还真是废寝忘食呢!”

我喜欢唐僧的善良和坚持不懈，喜欢猪八戒的能说会道，也喜欢沙和尚的吃苦耐劳。但我最最喜欢的还是孙悟空，他不仅有火眼金睛，可以看破一切妖怪的伪装，还有筋斗云，可以让他一个筋斗翻十万八千里，最厉害的是他会七十二变，可以随意变幻，他还有一根金箍棒，打败了所有妖魔鬼怪。

他们师徒四人经历千辛万苦，得到许多神仙的帮助，闯过了九九八十一难。终于到达了西天，取得了真经。

我们要向他们学习，团结一心不放弃，遇到困难不退缩，就一定能够成功。

Dear Liu Qi,

I, the undersigned, am a senior in Peking University. The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is coming in four years. After watching the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, I can not help writing to you.

First of all, here is my suggestion for the preparation work of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The construction work of the sports building must be completed in time according to the contract. In Athens, the swimming stadium was not accomplished in time so that the event had to be held in the open air, which has brought negative effect on the performance of athletes. In one word, to protect the international image of China and ensure the Olympic competition, we must finish our preparation work well and in time.

Last but not least important, I want to express my wish to be a volunteer. In the first place, it is the duty of every Chinese to do his bit for the 2008 Olympic Games. In the second place, I have a good command of foreign languages. I can speak English, Russian, and Japanese. Therefore I can be a qualified volunteer.

I have a dream. Compared toMartin Luther King’s, my dream is very small. I

want to be a teacher in the future. And then I can have a two long vacations for

traveling. I can travel around the world. I can go America, Canada, New York,

New Zealand, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and so on. It’s perfect. Yes, going

travel around the world is my dream. Even I want to go to the moon for

travel.

During the National Day, our family went to Yunfu Mountain Hot Springs.

To the hot springs, we swim for swimsuit. First of all we came to the childrens pool, where there are a lot of fun slides there are things, I did not even do not do the warm-up exercise could not help but jumped out of the pool, "wow, really comfortable." But the water there is too shallow , Do not move. Then we went to the fish treatment pool, I put the feet into, there are many small fish over my feet, very comfortable, but feel a little itch. Today is Friday. It’s sunny. My aunt comes to my home with her dog, Nannan. Nannan is very active. She is from Boston. She is fat. Her fur is so soft. She has two big eyes, a black nose and a big mouth. Her teeth are very sharp. Her tongue is purple. Her paws are very sharp, too. She’s very pretty and easy-going.

I like Nannan, I do hope mum buys me that dog.

The time of middle school is short and precious, but for some students,

they sit in the class and dont show any passion to learn knowledge. They like

to do something that is against what teachers tell them to do. Such as when the

teacher is presenting knowledge, they choose to read novel, or when it is the

time for them to do some exercise, they sleep. They dont care about study. It

is so negative for them to treat study. We are young and should be full of

energy. It is the best time for us to gain knowledge. What we learn today will

help us to realize our dreams, so lets fight for our goals.

读书，我很快乐，因为读书能让我当上大侦探哟！我一定好好读书！

Valentine’s Day is on the February 14 each year. It is celebrated in many

countries around the world, although it remains a working day in most of them.

After New Years Day, it is the most celebrated holiday around the world. It’s a

holiday for lovers or couples. This is a festival of love and romance, as well

as flowers, chocolates, greeting cards. On that day, there are many activities

for couples to celebrate, showing their love to mate. Gift exchanging is the

most common. In recent years, February 14 become much more popular than before,

although there is another Valentine’s Day in China. Besides, there are many

people choose that day to propose marriage or get married. In short, it’s a day

of love.

人们总是抱怨生活很平淡，没有什么变化。其实什么都在变，只是我们没有留意，没有认真观察而已，就像在我的眼里-----------的善良、纯真也让我忘却了烦恼和忧愁。

我记得有一次，我把孩子们做的作品-----------这些事情小到不能再小，不值一提，但就是这些小事让我时时感动，让我看到孩子那颗纯真的心，让我体会到作为幼儿教师的幸福!

前几天，我看了《城南旧事》这本书。书中讲的是英子小时候的故事。儿时的作者小英子一直生活在北京，但上个世纪二三十年代的北京城。还是胡同生活的时代。长得清秀可爱的妞儿;众所周知的“疯子”秀贞;重男轻女的宋妈，还有讲不清北京话的爸妈。他们都深深印在了我心中。

《城南旧事》这本书像一幅童年的风景画，很多童年的生活细节都被作者描述的栩栩如生，趣味盎然。老洋槐上的“吊鬼子”，西厢房里的小黄鸡，草丛里的小皮球，跟爸爸乱学歌谣，撮合兰姨娘与德先叔。尽管时代不同了，生活的条件也不同了，但作者纯真的童心并没有改变，因为那是作者最深处的记忆。

回过头，让我们也想想童年，有多少记忆是我们回味过的。或许真的很少很少。有的人甚至不稀罕去回味，因为他们认为，过去并不能代表现在。但他们又可曾想到：如果没有过去，又怎会有今天;如果没有过去，又怎会有悲与欢，如果没有过去，又怎会有离与合。过去，是重要的!

童年，是每个人最纯真，最快乐的时代。童年，也是每个人最深处的美好记忆。让我们一起来开启心灵的窗户，去回味心中最美丽的种子——童年的记忆!

“妈妈！快来看书吧！”

“来了！”每天晚上，这句平淡而温暖的对话成为一天中我最幸福时光的开场白。

“妈妈！白天上了一天的课了，晚上还要读书，太累了！”我曾经这样问过妈妈。

“宝贝，你不觉得读书很有趣吗。”在妈妈的又哄又骗下，开始了我的读书历程。

日子就这样悄然无声地在我们的身边溜走了，和妈妈一起读过的书也在悄悄地增加着。我渐渐感到，从起初的无趣到现在的渴望竟然是这样的顺其自然。我惊喜地发现“亲子读书”正发挥着她独有的神奇力量。我遇到困难能自己想办法了，写起日记来也情真意切了。书柜里的书越来越多，连一向不爱看书的爸爸也加入到我们读书的行列了。“亲子”读书正悄悄地影响着家里的每一个人。

是的，现在我再也不认为读书是一件很累的事情了，读书给了我知识，读书给了我乐趣，读书更给了我力量。

妈妈告诉我，在我还不会说话时，她就十分重视培养我对读书的兴趣，那时她就给我买那种专门设计的撕不坏，咬不破的书，虽然我可能什么也看不明白，但她想让我知道“书”是好东西。渐渐大了，每周妈妈都会领我到书店买书，到图书馆借阅，让我深深感受到书的魅力。只是那时我看我的，她看她的。自从学校开展“亲子”读书活动后，妈妈说她才真正和我一起读书，才尽情地享受着这份“共读”的妙不可言。 记得小时候，我常常缠着爸爸妈妈，问他们一个又一个稀奇古怪的问题:“一年中为什么有时冷，有时热？”“妈妈为什么能生宝宝，爸爸那么高大却不能？”他们常常被我问得哭笑不得，“快长大吧，书会给你满意的回答。”妈妈笑着说。于是，在每个夜晚，在柔和的灯光下，妈妈开始给我讲书上有趣的故事，听着…听着…我慢慢地，不知不觉地进入了甜美的梦乡…

上学了，在老师的教导下，我学会自己看书了。在书中，我发现了一个又一个秘密，原来人的祖先是类人猿，还有高大可怕的恐龙曾经主宰地球。远古时代，人们钻木取火。哦！原来世界这么奇妙！从那以后，我真的喜欢上了读书，因为书给我带来了无穷的乐趣。当读到安徒生的童话《卖火柴的小女孩》时，我曾为小女孩的命运做过祈祷；当我读到《三国演义》时，我为诸葛亮的雄才大略钦佩不已，我深深地陶醉在书的海洋中。现在，当我捧起《钢铁是怎样炼成的》，深深融入到里面时，我感到自己是多么的幸福，因为我拥有健康的身体，保尔虽然残废，但他那种不向命运低头，坚强的毅志和顽强的精神，深深地把我折服，让我佩服。我对今后的学习、生活充满了希望。我更爱读书了。 读书真好！

是啊，读书真好。亲子共读更是妙不可言，现在的爸爸妈妈已经开始迷上了我的书。她会和我一起为了白雪公主饱受皇后的折磨而伤心，会为了睡美人最终获得新生而快乐，会沉浸在曹雪芹笔下黛玉葬花的忧伤里，也会为了《水浒传》中英雄好汉的打抱不平而大声叫好。读《钢铁是怎样炼成的》，受到保尔坚毅与顽强的精神所鼓舞，……我读各种中外名著和名人传记，我全身心融入书中，与作者对话，与伟人对话，与时代对话，我惊奇地发现：原来读书在我的生命当中是如此重要，读书让我的心灵得到净化，读书让我的生活更加美好。我不能想象不读书的生活是一种怎样残缺、无味的生活，我更不能想象没有书籍的世界是一个怎样愚昧、暗淡的世界。因此，我经常地发出感慨：“读书，真好！”

此刻，我是如此幸福，我正和我的爸爸妈妈共同经历着书藉带来的喜怒哀乐，同样的心情让我们贴的更近，彼此间没有隔阂，象朋友那样亲密无间无话不谈，可以零距离感受到心理和思想的变化，以便于及时调整方式方法，更好的为我创造家庭环境，学习环境。让我快乐健康地成长。
