Why this? People have questioned what caused this problem and what can be done to improve the situation. In my opinion, two of the most critical causes of this waste material problem are the increased consumption and a shortage of space for landfill.

To begin with, modern lifestyle has contributed greatly to the increasing amount of waste and garbage we produce everyday. In other words, we have turned into a materialistic and mass-consumption society where we use more and throw away more than ever before. Moreover, countries are running out of space to store garbage and waste material. In fact, securing land for waste disposal raises controversies in many countries.

To solve this intractable problem, every citizen needs to participate in producing less garbage. For example, we can bring our own personal shopping bags instead of using plastic bags provided by stores and shops. Besides, the government can enforce stricter laws on companies to use biodegradable packaging or use recycled material. Indeed, this alone can eliminate much of the waste which is sent to at land fills. Companies can also contribute by developing new raw material which is recyclable and will ultimately lead to less garbage. The shortage of housing is one of the most serious problems facing many big

cities in China. Though the government has spent a large sum of money on

housing,the investment has not been very resultful and a housing shortage still

exists. Two generations sharing one room and newlymarried couples finding it

difficult to have a house of their own are still common cases. Housing shortage

is a problem that requires an immediate solution.

Peoples attitudes towards the solution to the housing problem are

different. Some suggest building more tall apartment buildings; others believe

that we should develop underground housing areas. I am in favour of the former

opinion. For one thing, it is cheaper to build upward than downward. For

another, living underground for a long time will do harm to peoples health.

Above all,people are unwilling to live underground with artificial lighting and

they prefer to live normally on the ground to enjoy the sunshine.

Although there may be some other ways to solve the housing shortage

problem, I believe to build more apartment buildings is one of the feasible

solutions to the housing problem.

我正在看电视，突然面前一束光，把我带到了一个奇妙的世界。

这个世界都是海洋，我非常惊讶，我没有带氧气瓶，居然也能呼吸，我把这个世界都参观一遍，发现所有的房子都是用水晶做成的，河水也非常蓝，一点也不浑浊。这时我突然遇到一个鲨鱼，我刚想跑，这个鲨鱼竟然说话了：“年轻人不要走，我不会伤害你的，我是这个王国的国王，这个王国叫海洋王国。”我说：“你好，我叫孙哲”国王说：“我带你参观一下我的王国吧。”我说：“我已经参观完了，但我想问你个问题。”国王说：“你问吧。”我说：“你们这个王国为什么这么干净，没有变脏的地方哪？”国王说：“因为我们是人人都爱护环境，不像你们人类，口口声声说保护环境，但到头，你们却把你们的世界变得又脏又臭。”我惭愧的低下了头。

这时一阵吵闹声好像在叫我，原来是妈妈在叫我起床，这也是个梦，但我想我们应该向海洋王国那样，人人都保护环境。

Different countries have different customs and different ways to celebrate festival. In our China, we have a variety of festivals, of which celebrating way is different. For example, we will eat mooncake in Mid-autumn Festival and have dragon boat races in the Dragon Boat Festival and eat zongzi. But in some extend, we celebrate all the festivals in the same way. Every family will have a big meal with their family. It is a time for family gathering. No matter what kind of celebrating way for a festival, it is the time to enjoy life.

不同的国家有不同的风俗习惯和不同的节日庆祝方式。在我们中国，我们有各种各样的节日，而庆祝它们的方式是不一样的。例如，我们会在中秋节吃月饼、在端午节赛龙舟、吃粽子。但从某种程度上说，我们都是以同样的方式来庆祝所有的节日。每家每户都会和家人一起吃大餐。这是属于家庭相聚的时间。无论用什么样的方式来庆祝，这都是享受生活的时刻。

妈妈让我做家里的垃圾分类大使，负责监管垃圾分类，教爸爸妈妈如何分类垃圾。

我首先建议增加一个垃圾桶，妈妈同意了，还带我一起去买。新买回来的垃圾桶用来装“其他垃圾”，原先家里的那个装“餐厨垃圾”。“有害垃圾”家里比较少，不用专设一个桶，用一个袋子装就可以了。“可回收物”很多本身就是个大箱子大盒子之类的大型物体，就用这些大家伙来装那些可回收的小不点就行了。

妈妈说卖可回收物得到的钱可以让我攒起来，这更激发了我的兴趣和积极性。我认真监管爸爸妈妈放垃圾，放错一件都不行。

当第一批可回收垃圾积累得差不多的时候，我和妈妈一起在小区附近找来了一位回收废物的叔叔，把积累的可回收物卖个他，竟卖了20元！后来陆陆续续又卖了几批，第二批卖了9元，第三批卖了1元……

在这个过程中，我发现垃圾分类看似容易，其实也很难。我一定要坚持做下去，争取做得更好！

As we all know the environment around us is getting worse and worse .In some places, we can’t see fish swimming in the river or trees on the hills. Some people even have no clean water to drink. So I think we must do something to protect the environment.

But what can we do? How to protect our environment? For example ,we can go to school on foot or by bike. We can use shopping baskets not plastic bags when we go shopping and we can use both sides of the paper when we write

In a word ,if everyone pays more attention to our environment ,there will be less pollution and our life will be better . “There is only one earth”, I hope everyone will protect our environment well.

What Can We Do for the Environment our environment is becoming worse and worse what can we do for the environment? I think each of us can do a little bit to help with this problem.

The first thing we can do is to use cloth bags instead of plastic bags when we go shopping. It helps to protect the environment. The second thing we can do is to reuse the old textbooks as possible as we can. We should also never forget to turn off the lights when we leave the classrooms in order to save energy. What’s more, it would be better if we walk or ride a bike to school. We should try our best to reduce pollution and waste. In fact, even the simplest everyday activities can make a real difference to the environment. I believe we can make the world a better place to live in.

我们都知道我们周围的环境变得越来越糟。在一些地方,我们不能看到鱼在河里游泳或树木在山上。一些人甚至没有干净的水喝。所以我认为我们必须做些事情来保护环境。
