There was once a little boy that wanted to be a good captain, but he knew

that he was too poor for that; and so he made up a plan to go a world called

Penny. It was a funny name but he didn’t mind. He also thought that his family

wouldn’t let him to go on such a long trip, for Penny that world was a

hundred100 miles more away. It was a very, very long journey for a boy only 10

years old to do.

He insisted that in the night where nobody could find him gone; and so he

set off in 1981, where he could find some kind people in New York. He got his

purse, and set off on his journey a day before the year; he went off at March,

starting with bare feet; he met on his way a little girl wishing so much for

money, and he picked up his purse; but found out that he had but only a little

bit of copper coins, there was not enough for her.

He stopped a while for about 10 days to find a job to earn money; he was

always kind, and was willing to help others when they are in need. At last he

got 100 cents with was 100 silver coins, and that paid the little girl

wealthily, he still kept the copper coins in emergencies.

After two more days of journeying, he found a place where it was icy and

cold, he knew that he couldn’t make it to Penny in time, and, so, made a

comfortable shelter to stay in until spring; where he came out happily, and

started off in 1982. When he at last reached Penny, he found a good job, and

paid it off with the copper coins.

He preferred the money to his whole family, and got $100 in return to the

kind people with which helped him when he was like, in trouble or something

like. That, it was good that nobody ever questioned him where he was that whole

time when he went back; but he was still glad that he got to help his family.

When he recovered, he felt a little bit sad, and lay down; the next morning when

his parents came into his recovering house to take him home to rest and play,

they found his two hands clasped on his white covered sheet bed, as if dead.

This place comes where his parents were shocked; they knew that this was

the boy’s last sleep, the cried bitterly all night long, while there was still a

smile on the hero’s face.

In the east of China， there is a small city---Haimen. I was born there.

Today， I am telling you about my hometown. Haimen is not far from Shanghai. It’s

at the mouth of the Changjiang River. Haimen is a modern city. There are lots of

high buildings in it. Most of us live in flats. We like to live in flats because

we can be close to our friends. In the center of Haimen， there are many shops.

You can buy some nice things here. Things in most shops aren’t expensive. You

can pay a little money and they are yours. My hometown is a beautiful city. On

each of the roads， there are some big trees and nice flowers. The roads are also

very clean. They make people happy and comfortable. The seasons here are very

nice. I like autumn best. It’s neither hot nor cold. A poem says “Flyer of

summer come to my window to sing， then fly away. And yellow leaves of autumn，

which have no songs， just fall there with a sign.” It’s very cool.I love Haimen.

It’s a nice place to live. Welcome to my hometown.

When the sky is raining with the sun coming out, I will be very excited

because I know the rainbow will show up soon. I am always attracted by its

beautiful colors. It hangs in the sky, like a great miracle. As it is not often

to be seen, so when it shows up, people will be very happy to appreciate the

beautiful scenery.

Hello!

Im a big fan of yours! Listen to some of my aunt said, you are to give

children gifts, so, every Christmas, I spent my bed hang Christmas stockings,

It is natural that difficulties hide in every corner of our life,so we have

to face them at times.Whatever we have undergone in our life, we shouldnt

complain about it. We may get a lot or lose so much in our life journey, but

keeping a positive attitude should always be together with us. Nothing can

defeat us if we are confident and diligent. Just as saying goes, God is equal to

everyone. As he closes the door, he will also open a window for us.

Many of us have seen a picture on the Internet of a man with a nice smile

is struggling along with the aid of a stick because of losing one of his

feet,and another man is sitting on the ground without shoes on his feet,looking

anxious and depressed.How different the expressions flitting across their faces

are!At the bottom of the drawing says”Because I have no shoes,I keep complaining

until I find another man who has lost one of his feet.”

What an impressive drawing it is in revealing different attitudes toward

life!A persons attitude towards life is very important, it determines your

life, which path you are taking and how your life will become. if you are a

person with very strong positive outlook, no matter what difficulties you

encounter, you will always look at the bright side of life and never give up

easily. Take Thomas Edison as an example.Before inventing the electric bulb,he

had tried thousands of materials for lamp filament,but failed.Despite others’

laughing at him.he said,”I am not a failure,at least I have proved these

materials are not fit for filament.”Before long he invented electric bulb.

The most frequent example you see are those patients or people that are

handicapped or suffering from some type of illness like cancer. They do not give

up any glimpse of hope and continue fighting till they their last breathe. Even

those very determined handicapped,they do not blame the world for their disable.

Instead, they are contented and blessed with all the rest the have, their family

, friends and those who support them greatly. Those handicapped with negative

attitude towards life will feel that the world is unfair and they life in misery

and always feel that they are unless and unwanted.

All in all,it is our attitudes that have changed everything in our life and

help us to pull through all hardships.So we should strive to develop a positive

attitude toward life and the world.It is convinced that only when we are

equipped with optimism and confidence can we achieve success in the future.

My school is at haimen town. it is very big and beautiful. there are

forty-three classes in it. when you come to our school, you can see the modern

teaching building.

Our teachers work and do practice in it. behind the building, there are two

classroom buildings and a school library. in the library there are thousands and

thousands of books. after class you can borrow the books you want and also you

can read them in the reading room at any time.

Beside our classroom, there is a big playground. at about 4:30 p.m. every

day, many students play football, basketball and some of them play tennis. all

the playground is alive.

Our school is a model school in jiangsu. i like my school very much.

This is our classroom, which is a nice big room.The windows are big and the

walls are white. There is a blackboard on the front wall. On the back wall there

is a map, which is a map of China.In front of the blackboard there is a big

desk, it is for the teacher.There are forty small desks and chairs in the room.

They are for us studens. Whats on the teachers desk? There are some

flowers.

To me ,the most interesting subject is English.But I find studying English

is very difficult.So if you ask which subject is the most difficult to me.My

answer will be English.Now I am a student,everyday I have more than one English

classes,I like studying it very much and I hope I can study it very well,so I

can talk with foreigners and know the foreign countries things,it is very

useful.

Last week, when I passed a clothes shop, I was attracted by the

beautiful dress, so I asked my mother to give me money to buy one. But she

refused me and said that I could collect some money by helping her to do little

work. I agreed. So I started to clean the house and the dishes. Sometimes washed

my father’s car. Finally I got enough money.

Two years ago, my mother sent me to learn ballet. At that time, I was so

unhappy about her choice, because I just wanted to play. But now, when someone

asks me what my talent is, I can be very proud to tell them I can dance. My

mother makes the good choice for me. I learn a special skill.

this morning i got up early. after breakfast, i helped mom with housework.

then i did my homework. the homework was very interesting, so i did it well. in

the afternoon, i played table tennis with my friend lingling, we enjoyed

ourselves very much. in the evening i watched tv with my parents and then

prepared my self for the next days lesson.

Today, I saw the notice on the blackboard under the school, this week

Saturday for the mid-term examination. Mother wants me to Chinese more than 90

points in the mid-term exam, math more than 95 points, I was very nervous.

Because only three days, so I want to read quickly review unit of one to four in

the morning. Because I must surpass mother request!

Everybody has an idol in their heart, who will set the good example for

them. In my eyes, a good idol should bring the positive side to the public, so I

don’t mind whether they look pretty. My idol is the real hero. He works so hard

and never gives up. His persistence helps him to make the great achievement. I

should learn from him.

There was once a little boy, who was my grandpa; lived in a little cottage

near the king’s palace. He was a jolly fellow in his life.

One day, he went down to the brook to pick some flowers. Close to the brook

was a little log, on it was a tinker. Beside him was a tool box, and in it were

some tools. “He must be the one that fixed the pluming machine in my backyard!”

my grandpa gasped as he said that. The tinker was having his lunch: One or two

pieces of bread, a bit of cold meat, and a cold potato. It looked such poor

lunch; that grandpa ran into the house, and grabbed two fresh apples, and gave

it to the tinker. The tinker thanked grandpa and ate the apples. And then he

went down to the brook to have a drink. When he came back, he said, “Now my boy,

we shall plant a tree!” “A tree?” asked grandpa, “But I thought only god makes

trees!’’ “True,” said the tinker, “Only god makes trees. But sometimes we could

help him. And the tinker pulled out a stick, and dug a hole in it. In which he

found a bark. He took the bark out of the stick, and gave the stick to grandpa,

saying, “Here my boy; wash it in the brook.” And so grandpa went to the brook,

and washed up the stick. And then he went back where the tinker was standing

with the bark in his hands.

There he found the tinker, dragging some grass from the ground. And then he

took the stick in grandpa’s hand, and used the grass to tie up around with the

bark. Then he slipped the bark back in the stick. And then he took it out,

squeezed the water out, and told grandpa to wash it up again. When he came back,

he put the bark back in it again. And then fitted it into a hole, which he had

dug; and used the end that didn’t have a hole, and fitted it in the ground; a

few months passed, and the tree grew as strong as the strongest man.

Dragon Boat Festival is one the very classic traditional festivals, which

has been celebrated since the old China. Firstly, it is to in honor of the great

poet Qu Yuan, who jumped into the water and ended his life for loving the

country. Nowadays, different places have different ways to celebrate.

In my hometown, there will be a traditional competition, that is the dragon

boat race. People make up the team and fight for the honor. Every boat looks

like the dragon and it is the most obvious feature. A lot of people will come to

visit or watch the match. Then the game begins. The audience will cheer for the

teams and the competitors try their best to make the boat go fast. It is very

lively.

Besides the competition, eating the traditional food zongzi is favored by

everyone. For me, it is very delicious. My grandma makes the best zongzi. She

has the special recipe and it fits my stomach. So every time I go back hometown,

my grandma will make it for me.

In other places, drinking the special wine and hanging the leaf are also

the tradition. The preserve of the traditional festival makes our culture

profound.

I want to have a cat,because Im very alone. So, Im going to keep a cat.

The cats colour is white and orange, and it has big green eyes, and its so

beautiful.I hope that it can be beautiful. I think cat is a kind of cute animal

and keeping one is good for me. The cat is clean . Cat likes drinking milk and

eating fish. fish is good for health. Sometime cat is naughty, but dont worry,

I love it. How nice my friend is !I love it more and more.

Its important for us to be healthy all our life. We cant study or work

well without healthy body.

Therere many ways to keep healthy. First of all, we should keep taking

exercises every day. We can walk to school instead of taking a bus. After

school, we can spend an hour playing ball games. If we live in a high-rise, we

can walk upstairs or downstairs. Second, we should have a balanced diet.

Finally, we must remember: "Early to bed, early to rise is the way to keep

healthy, wealthy and wise."
