Halloween

Halloween is an autumn holiday that Americans celebrate every year. It means "holy evening," and it comes every October 31, the evening before All Saints Day. However, it is not really a church holiday, it is a holiday for children mainly.

Every autumn, when the vegetables are ready to eat, children pick large orange pumpkins. Then they cut faces in the pumpkins and put a burning candle inside. It looks as if there were a person looking out of the pumpkin! These lights are called jack-o-lanterns, which means "Jack of the lantern".

The children also put on strange masks and frightening costumes every Halloween. Some children paint their faces to look like monsters. Then they carry boxes or bags from house to house. Every time they come to a new house, they say,"Trick or treat! Money or eat!" The grown-ups put treat-money or candy in their bags.

Not only children, but most grown-ups also love Halloween and Halloween parties because on this day,they can disguise themselves as personages or ghost as their imaginations will lead them. This bring them the satisfaction of being young.

万圣节前夕是美国人年年都会庆祝的秋季节日。它的意思是“神圣的夜晚”，在每年的10月31日，也就是万圣节前夜。但实际上这不是一个真正的宗教节日，而主要是孩子们的节日。

每年秋天蔬菜成熟可以食用的时候，孩子们就会挑出大个儿的橙色南瓜。然后在南瓜上刻上一张脸，把一根点燃的蜡烛放在里面。看起来就好像有人在向南瓜外面张望。这些灯就叫做“iack-o-lantems”，意思也就是“杰克的灯”。

每年万圣节前夕孩子们还戴上奇怪的面具，穿上吓人的服装。有些孩子把脸刷成怪物。然后他们拿着盒子或袋子挨家挨户串门。每来到一个新房子他们就说：“不款待就捣乱!给钱还是吃的!”大人们就会把用来招待的钱或糖放在他们的袋子里了。

不仅孩子，许多成年人也喜欢万圣节前夕和万圣节前夕晚会。因为这一天他们可以根据自己的想象把自己装扮成名流或幽灵。这会带给他们年轻的快感。

在每个人成长的过程中，都不会一帆风顺，经常会遇到很多伤心事和烦恼事。

记得我小时候无忧无虑，吃了玩，玩了吃。可是随着年龄的增长，进入学校，每天的作业越来越多，要背的书也越来越多。每天早上六点就会被妈妈谎说成七点叫起来背书，并且还要背着沉重的书包去学校。在学校里总是因为作文和考试而烦恼，就怕自己考不好，被老师批评，被妈妈骂。

记得有一次，我考了八十几分，发现都是自己不小心做错的，心里非常伤心。本以为回家之后，妈妈能给我一点安慰，可出科我意料的是，妈妈不但没有给予我安慰，而且还骂了我一顿说：“看，不是你不会做，都是你粗心大意造成的，像这样的话，你怎么能考上一个好中学呢?去，拿妈妈买的课外作业做二页，然后拿给我检查。”我心里很难过，但还是拖着疲倦的身驱走进书房，我看到课本上密密麻麻的字，头发晕，心想，要是我能躺在床上睡个十天八天的那该多好呀!可那是不可能的。

要知道，在人生的成长过程中有很多欢乐，但也少不了烦恼，当你经历了一次烦恼的“袭击”，那你离成功就更近一步。

This years New Years day is really busy! The street people mountain people sea, beaming, decorating. Some people carry the bags to visit family and friends, to new area; Some people around together, talking and laughing, laugh with, some people wearing beautiful clothes, walking in the leisurely. 今年的元旦可真热闹!大街上人山人海，喜气洋洋，张灯结彩。一些人提着大包小包去走亲访友，去拜年叙旧;一些人围在一起，有说有笑，笑声此起彼伏，一些人穿着漂亮的衣服，在悠闲地散步。节日的彩灯把广场照耀得如白昼一般明亮。家家户户都挂着大红灯笼，家家都打扫得彻底，一尘不染。

到了晚上，礼花怒放，鞭炮齐声。劈劈啪啪的鞭炮声络绎不绝。在什么地方都能听到人们的欢声笑语。一家人坐在桌前吃年夜饭，显得亲意浓浓，其乐融融。

在说笑声、鞭炮声、欢笑声中，一个元旦节就这样幸福地度过了。

My hobby is listening to music. When I was a child I enjoy listening to music especially the cartoon music, I often lose myself in it. When I am in trouble, music can make me calm down. Especially cold winter vacation of this year, the storm rages as snowflakes flying down to the earth covered with a silvery white quilt. Dad and I decided to take me to saipan, holiday together.

今年的寒假特别冷，风雪肆虐，鹅毛般的雪花飞落下来，给大地披上了一条银白的棉被。爸爸决定带我去塞班岛，和我一起度假。

四个小时的飞行就把我们从寒冷的冬天带到了海风凉爽的夏天。心情立刻就变得特别轻松。我们来到塞班岛的海边，海水湛蓝而清澈，甚至一眼就能看到小鲨鱼和小海星。大海的涛声象雄壮有力的号声，飞溅的浪花是一个个跳跃的音符，汇成一曲曲美妙动听的乐章。

我们在沙滩上堆沙子，跳进海里自由自在地游泳，坐潜水艇潜入海底去看五颜六色的珊瑚，色彩斑斓的热带鱼，更为奇特的是还能看到二战时期沉入海底的军舰和飞机残骸，让我了解了这段历史。

转眼假期就过去了，我怀着依依不舍的心情离开了塞班岛。大海是多么美丽，又多么神秘，让人流连忘返!我又度过了一个美好的假期。
