1.仔细阅读图画及文字说明，首先应确定文章体裁。这类文章一般以记叙文或说明文为主。

记叙文：要抓住记叙文的六要素：时间(when)、地点(where)、人物(who)、事件(what)、原因(w～)和过程(how)。即：五个“W”和一个“H”。根据图画提示把这六个问题写清楚了，至少可得及格分数。如2000年的全国高考题，时间：2000年2月8日清晨;地点：公园外的公园路上;A物;“我”、一个老头;事件;这个老头被一辆黄色小车撞倒，“我”把他送到了附近的医院;原因：司机害怕承担责任而逃走，过程：“我”当时正沿着公园路散步。

说明文：一般先要把图画联系起来，弄清楚图画的目的、意图;然后进行抽象概括，找出一个说明对象，接着根据图画从时间、过程、步骤等方面加以解释、说明;最后进行总结，得出结论。对事物进行说明时，一定要做到条理清楚，明了易懂。如20典型例题考英语试题，作者首先告诉对方已经为他找到了房间，接着介绍房间的情况，最后征求对方的意见。

2.确定人称。如果以日记、回忆录等形式来写，一般采用第一人称;如果是以讲故事的形式来写，则一般采用第三人称来写比较方便。但不管用哪种人称，全文都必须一致。

3.确定时态。根据图画内容及所采用的文章体裁，确定文章所要用的时态。切记全文时态的一致性。

4.发挥联想要合理、适度。这类文章的说明一般都要求考生作适当的联想和发挥，以便使上下文能更好地连贯起来。但联想和发挥一定要根据图画做到合情合理，不能过多地胡乱联想和发挥。如20典型例题考题，如果告诉对方：我几乎把城市找遍了，终于为你找到了一套房子。这样联想显然是可以的。然而，倘若你写成：我到东城区去找，那边的房子太贵;于是，我又到西城区去找，而那里正在建设之中，条件不太好;接着，我又到南城区去找，发现那里离新建的华文学校又太远了……像这样的联想和发挥就太夸张了。

5.虚实结合，详略得当。对于图画中的内容，该详细叙述、描写的，就必须要详细、具体;可以一笔带过的就一笔带过。也就是平常老师所讲的有时要泼墨如水，而有时又要惜墨如金。如图画中所有的时间、数字或言论需一词不漏地写清楚，而有些过程或原因则可适当简略。

拿到试卷后，首先浏览书面表达的题目，研究题目要求。正确的审题内容包括A、审标题B、审体裁C、审要点。审标题：看文章是否要求有题目(title)或者主题(topic)能够确保你不跑题;审体裁：确能够定文章的文体，为你写作提供方向。审要点：如果英语作文中，有要求要点的，一般打分时是踩点给分的，准确把握住要点，是高分的一个诀窍。

如何审要点要做到以下两个方面：

总结归纳要点：不是所有内容都要写出来，而是抓住其中的关键要点、衔接要点!

理顺要点：将提炼的要点按逻辑关系(如时间关系、因果关系、转折关系等)重新安排，这样整篇文章看起来就整体有序，流畅自然，更加容易打动评分老师，从而作文分数提升一档。

构思文章提纲：根据题目的要点，安排好段落和主次关系。要形成良好的分段意识，写作分段是必须要进行的(2至4段为佳)，这样显得文章不会拥挤并且层次分明。在行文意识上，要注意突出要点。

The world we live in is becoming more and more intolerable because of environmental destruction. Bird flu and Sars are two typical examples that environmental destruction may threaten our life. Nobody could have failed to notice the fact that drunken driving has been a grave problem with which we are confronted. Generally speaking, there are several reasons accounting for /behind this phenomenon. Firstly, recent decades have witnessed the rapid development of people’s living standards. As a result, cars gained ever-increasing popularity and have found their way into our everyday life. Secondly, people participate in more activities or banquets than ever before, where they will drink liquor/strong wine. Then, they may get drunk but continue to drive.
