Many， especially those living in cities， are not interested in celebrating the festival with people they hardly know.

Many customs associated with Spring Festival have changed， too. In the past， people used to visit relatives and friends with gifts and lots of good wishes. Today， many people， especially the youth， use their cell phones or the Internet to send their good wishes and even "gifts" to their relatives and friends. Some may say this a sign that people have become less caring about their near and dear ones， but we should see this development as a time- and energy-saving exercise granted by the information age.

In recent times， many people have started praying for a career promotion or more money instead of invoking God or the Buddha for a healthy and long life and the welfare of their family. But the number of such people is decreasing now， which shows that people are becoming more reasonable.

The holiday I like most is to visit Guilin with my parents .Because Guilin is one of the most attractive tourism places in China.Guilin is famous for Li River and Elephant Trunk Hill.They are the symbols of Guilin.People can enjoy the landscape on the bamboo raft and meanwhile talk to the Guilinese.People can learn a lot about the Ethnic Minorities culture there.There are also many delicious local food Guilin,such as Guilin rice noodles,Flowerbridge chilli paste.I really want to try them by my own month with my parents again .I cant wait to go there .I will go there when I have next holiday.

我最喜爱的假期是那次和我父母一起去桂林旅游.桂林中国最迷人的旅游胜地之一.桂林最有名的地方莫过于丽江和象鼻山,人们可以在竹筏上欣赏当地的景致,还可以在和桂林当地人的交谈中了解很多关于那里的少数民族文化.当地还有很多可口的饮食,诸如桂林米粉和桂林花桥辣椒酱.我真的好想和我父母一起再去那里品尝一下,我几乎快等不及了,当我下一次放假的时候我一定要和我和父母再去那里.

i had an unforgettable labour day holiday.

my classmates threw a celebration party at our middle school principles flat. our parents were invited to the party. everybody was ecited about the holiday. i ate a lot of delicious food at that time. i also went visiting my relatives with my parents. we went to celebrate our good time at a fancy restaurant in shanghai. later that day, we sang karaoke in my uncles house. we stayed for the night.

the net day, i went shopping with my cousins. we bought some brand name t-shirts and pants. in the afternoon, my cousins gave me a fun ride on the city highway. they also taught me how to drive their fancy car, so i tried to do some turning and parking. it was not easy first. but i learnt quick. we returned home with many gifts from our trip. i tried to get some rest. at night, i chatted with my classmates on the phone, and i watched cctv before going to bed. since last friday, i started to finish up my homework assignments on my personal laptop. some of my assignments were quite boring. after i finished the homework, i emailed them to my teachers.

that was my unforgettable labour day holiday. yeh, i had a lot of fun!

The Spring Festival is our Chinese lunar New Year, so is very important for our Chinese New Year! Therefore, the preparation before the Spring Festival is also indispensable.

The New Year! The New Year! Every family is busy to stick couplets on the Spring Festival, shaved hair, do dinner... Too many things to do, and have too many "rules". Some custom also very strange, in desperation, I ask mom is to stick couplets on the Spring Festival.

I saw mother stick to "f" word backwards, I do know why to stick, stick backwards f word is a kind of custom, f (show f down (to)! But I still asked, "whats the Chinese New Year customs and manners?" Mother stop working, patiently to talk to me.

Originally, before New Years day there is a custom of setting off firecrackers, comes from the story of "the year beast". Once upon a time there was a "nian", deep sea floor, long stay in the New Years eve is splendour as evil everywhere. One year an old man with shooting, in red, put red couplets on the Spring Festivals approach is driven "nian", which was able to calm, then this method will spread. But now guangzhou ban fireworks, so we wont have this activity.

New Years eve this day is very important to our country. On this night, our whole family to prepare used orientation, special dinner.

To eat dinner, is the most lively happy Spring Festival every family. Eve. A splendid wasnt filled with a table, the whole family reunion, sitting at the table, the reunion dinner. People is both enjoy a full table delicacies, and enjoy the joy of the atmosphere, there are chickens, geese, burning meat on the table, etc., generally without two things, one is the hot pot, is a fish. Steaming hot pot, thriving; "Fish" and "yu" homophonic, meaning "more than" year after year. Finally a sweetmeat, blessing in the future day sweet.

Today is too big, I know a lot of the knowledge of the Chinese New Year customs, but I feel a little superstitious, but it was a pleasure, as long as happy, why not superstitions? Whats more, this is a traditional custom, would rather believe its have not trusted their!

春节是我们中国农历的新年，所以过年对我们中国人而言非常重要的!因此，春节前的准备也是必不可少的。

过年了!过年了!家家户户忙着贴春联，剃头发，做年夜饭……要做的事情太多了，而且“规矩”太多了!有些习俗还很怪，无奈之下，我就去问正在贴春联的妈妈。

我看见妈妈将“福”字倒着贴，我固然知道为什么要倒着贴，将‘福’字倒着贴是一种习俗，‘福’倒贴说明‘福’倒(到)了!但我仍然问道：“过年有什么习俗和规矩啊?”妈妈停下手中的活，耐心地给我谈起来。

原来，以前过年还有一种放鞭炮的习俗，来源于“年兽”的故事。很久以前有一只“年兽”，长期居住深海底，到了除夕就跃出海面到处作恶。有一年一个老人用放炮，穿红衣，贴红春联的方法驱赶走“年兽”，这才得以平静，此后这个方法就流传开来。但是现在广州禁止燃放烟花爆竹，所以我们就不再进行这个活动了。

除夕这一天对我国来说是极为重要的。这天晚上，我们全家准备除旧迎新，吃团年饭。

吃年夜饭，是春节家家户户最热闹愉快的时候。大年夜.丰盛的年菜摆满一桌 ，全家团聚，围坐桌旁，共吃团圆饭。人们既是享受满桌的佳肴，也是享受那份快乐的气氛，桌上有鸡、鹅、烧肉等等，一般少不了两样东西，一是火锅，一是鱼。火锅热气腾腾，说明红红火火;“鱼”和“余”谐音，喻意“年年有余”。最后一道甜食，祝福往后的日子甜甜蜜蜜。

今天我的收获太大了，知道了很多过年习俗的知识，不过我觉得有点迷信，但这又仿佛是一种乐趣，只要快乐就好，何必迷信不迷信?更何况这是传统的习俗，宁可信其有不可信其无啊!
