London and Tower Bridge

Not much is known about the earliest London Bridge although it’s location is thought to be near the present one. The second bridge a wooden one existing in Saxon times seems to have given rise to the nursery rhyme ‘London Bridge is falling down’ which it did in 1014. In 1176 the first stone bridge was constructed. Houses sprung up on both sides of the bridge and stood until it was pulled down in 1831, making way for a more elegant, classic structure. This bridge was replaced in 1967 as it could no longer cope with the amount of traffic. The present London Bridge is more 100 feet wide.

The London Bridge preceding the current one was bought by the McCulloch Oil Corporation of California, which reconstructed it at Lake Havasu City, in a corner of America’s Arizona Desert. Rumour has it that McCulloch’s thought they were buying the much more spectacular Tower Bridge.

The Construction of Tower Bridge began in 1885 and it was opened 9yrs later by Edward VII the then Prince of Wales, Amidst pomp and ceremony. At a press conference held at the Renmin University of China on Thursday, the organizers said the three-month season from April to June will involve members of the student societies in the publicity and practice related to the "socialist concept of honor and disgrace", Olympic volunteering, innovative cultural activities and so on.

There are more than 3,000 societies in Beijings higher learning institutions, numbering some 100 regular and adult universities and colleges, with activities ranging from theoretical research, academic practice to public good, cultural, artistic and sports areas.

Guided by the Communist Youth League, an association of Beijing college student societies was founded on December 9, 20XX. In 20XX, it waged the first cultural season.

I have a big family . There are five people in my family.They are my father my mother my grandparents and I. My father is very strict with me and my mother is very kind . I love them and they love me too. If I make progress, my father will say to me:"thats good! you are very well!" if I make no progress , my father will say to me:"Dont give up! ,we believe you!” and my father is a headmaster and my mother is a manager.

My grandparents were all teachers many years ago. I love them very much .
