in the past, people could not often have meat, rice or other delicious food. they could only eat these during the spring festival. so every year they hoped that the spring festival would come soon. now, although people’s life is much better, and we can eat the delicious foods everyday. people still like the festival. because most people can have a long holiday, and we are free to go on a trip or visit our friends or have parties with our family. in the evenings, we can have a big meal in the restaurant or stay at home with family and watch the tv programmes.

The Lunar New Year

The Lunar New Year is a great occasion to the Chinese people。 It lasts about the first four days of the year， during which people do not work except for the workers on duty。 Students do not go to school， and shops are closed。

Several days before the new year， people begin to prepare。 Farmers kill pigs， sheep， cocks and hens。 City dwellers buy meat fish and vegetables。  Houses are cleaned； coupletsare posted on the doors。 Colourful lanterns are hung at the gate。

On the eve of the new year， each family has its members gatherd together and eats a family reunion dinner。 After the meal they watch TV until the clock strickes twelve。 Then every family sets off long strings of small firecrackers and other fire works to wele the new year。 On the first day of the new year， almost everyone is dressed in his or her best。 When people meet on the way， they say to each other "Happy New Year"。 Friends and relatives pay new year calls and gives presents to each other。 Children indulge themselves in games。

春节是我们中国最传统的节日。过春节之前，人们都喜欢将自己屋子打扫得干干净净，并在门上贴起“福”字，再挂上一幅对联，准备好美味佳肴，以慰劳自己一年来的辛苦；每个大街小巷，都张灯结彩，到处是红灯笼，中国节，真是一片热闹的、喜气洋洋的景象。

从年初一开始，中国人就会看望长辈，拜访亲朋好友，并送出精美的礼物和美好的祝福，表示自己的一片心意。除了拜访亲朋好友，看望长辈，送礼物和祝福以外，中国人还有一个传统的习俗，就是长辈要给比自己小一辈的人的儿子或女儿给压岁钱，这个习俗到现在都没有改变，只是面值变化了一下而已，像现在有的是100元的，有的是500元的，有的是600元的，有的是1000元的……

一般到了大年初一爸爸妈妈就去长辈家拜年；过了初一这个日子还可以去亲朋好友家拜年，也可以出去旅游或呆在家里。当然除了拜年和拿压岁钱以外，小孩子们最喜欢的“新年项目”就是放鞭炮、放烟花了。每到过春节，爸爸就给我买很多鞭炮和烟花，放在两个大箱子里，准备在年三十和年初一（年三十的十二点正）放。随着时代的变化，虽然鞭炮没变，但是烟花却变得形状各异，放出来的烟花也一年比一年更美丽。每当我想起那段放烟花的过程，我就觉得我的胆子大了。我每次都是点燃了火心，就马上跑得老远老远，因为我怕被烟花给炸伤了。当然我从来都没有被炸到过。特别是年三十十二点整，是最壮观的时候了，那个场景真可以用火树银花来形容，各种各样烟花争奇斗艳，在空中飞得高高，而且一个比一个高，一个比一个响。在午夜的十二点，显得极为壮观，每到了此时，我就会异常兴奋，异常开心，整个人都沉浸在夜色中，毫无睡意。

可到了春节后，中国又恢复了平静。

我想趁新年还没过完，祝大家新年快乐，万事如意！

今天是大年三十，与往年一样：许多人家都挂起了红灯笼；贴上了春联，可不是么？那红红的灯笼，映照着我们灿烂的笑容；加上那一对对春联，到处洋溢着喜洋洋的气氛，对节日无疑是锦上添花了。今天，也是我们小孩子的天下：我们唱啊，跳啊，把所有的烦恼都放在了一边不去理会，心中好高兴、好高兴到了吃团圆饭的时间，我们全家围坐在圆桌旁。桌上的菜可丰盛啦：有金黄色的烧鸡，红红的年糕，雪白的汤圆吃完团圆饭后，打开电视机，看起了中央电视台的春节联欢晚会。

晚上，烟花四射。先是看到一个小亮点，从远处飞奔向上，等到了一定高度后突然迸射出无数的火花，它们把浩瀚的天空点缀得色彩斑斓，就像为天空增添了一把充满生机的火焰，就连星星也黯然失色了。它们千姿百态，在夜空中尽显风彩。看着看着，我仿佛觉得自己也和它们一起蹦起来了。顿时，月光、灯光、焰光，交织在了一起，照亮了整个天空。我也一样放起了烟花，有满地珍珠、跳猫、天女散花、火球

“咚咚咚咚”新年的钟声敲响了，我的第一个反映是：新的一年，新的起点，新的希望，新的梦想，更要加倍努力！但愿这一年好运一直陪伴着我。

Spring Festival in my Hometown

The Spring Festival, the most jubilant and important festival in China, is observed by most Chinese people at home and abroad. Our hometown is not an exception.

Similar with other places in china, we prepare for the festival about half a month before. With the lunar New Year approaching, the red lanterns are hung up along the main streets, making the ancient town filled with the festival atmosphere. While people clean up their houses, decorate it with traditional decorations such as Chinese knots and paper cutting. Each family pastes up Spring Festival couplets to convey their best wishes for the coming year.

On the New Year’s Eve, the whole family sits around, having a

sumptuous feast of reunion. It is worth mentioning that the food we have called maiyouzhi is unique. There is a flat piece of wheat sheet covering various vegetable and meat then rolling them up. What a delicious it is! After dinner, the family always watches the Spring Festival Gala Evening, and sets up fireworks to watch in the New Year.

On the first day of the New Year, people pay visits to the relatives and friends to send New Year’s greetings to each other and wish everything smoothly in the new year. The kids can get a lot of lucky money from the elders.

During the whole holiday, there are varied activities in the town such as lion and dragon dance, and all the citizens enjoy them very much.

People celebrate the festival until the Lantern festival. However, the wonderful memory and the joy of the Spring Festival will last long.

My College Life

How time flies! I have been in Zhejiang Gongshang University for a semester. In retrospect, my college life is busy but colorful. Different from my senior high school’s life, the whole new life I led is much freer. I arranged my time,

becoming the master of myself.

First of all, study is still the core of my life. I major in Japanese which is both interesting and challenging. We are required to be accomplished in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating. As a result I had to spend most of time in improving my abilities. Besides of the regular courses, I often attended the lecture and went to the library to eich my knowledge, and I do benefit from what I learnt.

As to the after school life, what I consider most meaningful is joining the YVP to serve society. I think it is the responsibility for every university student to make contribution to the community. Little as my effort is, I tried my best to help the people around us. Once the YVP organized us to sell secondhand books and raise the money to help the people indeed.

In addition, I quite enjoy the travels and the bees. Travels let me experience the sunshine, fresh air as well as the special taste of the local customs and practices. While the bees keep the friendship shining, and friends are as if family members. Both of them lit up my life.

All in all, the college life is a journey, and I have long way to go; all the memory is the most precious treasure, and I will value every moment.

Lantern Festival after two weeks. People usually eat a kind of rice dumpling

called yuanxiao. It can take people good luck all the year round.

Also known as Confucius temple, the temple is a place where people sacrifice to Confucius. Listen to adults, in many cities across the country have built the temple. Zhangzhou, the historical and cultural city also built a temple. Zhangzhou is located in the temple are full of historical imprints of older neighbourhoods by west road, it was built in the song dynasty, about one thousand years ago, is a state-level cultural relics protection units. Zhangzhou zhu xi in this lecture not only has the southern song dynasty, the temple, zheng chenggong Huang Daozhou here of sacrifice to Confucius and Confucius seed is used to living here. Therefore, the temple has been celebrated in zhangzhou.

During the Spring Festival this year, I traveled to zhangzhou to visit the temple, worship Confucius film. Through by road that has written "DE with heaven and earth, ancient and modern" big memorial arch, step into the temple, the first thing you encounter is a statue standing in the tall statue in the middle of the square face kindly, a twinkle in his eyes, this is the Confucius is regarded as "the saint", the ancient great thinker, educator and litterateur in China. He founded the earliest schools - school in our country. Confucius is the outstanding representative of Chinese traditional culture, his thought of China even the world had a profound impact. With admiration of Confucius, I stand in front of the statue, deeply bowed.

Around the statue, you step up, reach the majestic dacheng hall, before the house stood six tall pillars of panlong, carver is exquisite, vivid. Enter the temple, the Confucius statue sits in the middle of, as if is to inculcate his disciples. Cave before putting several, case, stand on both sides of the copper horse, kirin, do manual work is delicate, elegant. The hall is of primitive simplicity and easy.

Out of the dacheng hall, stroll around the temple, the environment elegant, flowers fragrance. On both sides of the wing by many generations of preserved inscriptions, stone carvings, shows the long history of zhangzhou Confucian temple and the prominent position. Come to visit and worship came in an endless stream, says more about the peoples respect to Confucius

After visiting the temple, I am proud of China have the master such a notorious teachers, proud of with excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, is also more inspired me to inherit and carry forward the Chinese nation excellent traditional culture of determination!

春节我跟爸爸妈妈去外婆家过年。 The Spring Festival I and my parents and my mother went to my grandmothers house for the New Year.

一起围坐在圆桌旁吃年夜饭时，外婆开口道：“现在的人条件好了，过春节真跟以前不一样啊!”我好奇地问：“有什么不一样呢?”“从前条件不好，要凭票子买东西。”外婆微笑着说道，“还要大清早起来排队呢!若晚了，东西买不到了!”“是呀，以前物资匮乏，不像现在，想吃什么能吃到!”妈妈说。“现在真好呀!”我说。“来来!红烧肉!”噢，原来外公烧的红烧肉上桌了!刚一端上桌，我便迫不及待地用筷子夹起一块肉塞到嘴里：“好吃，好吃!”

“嘭!嘣!”正在我们吃得津津有味的时候，窗外突然放起了烟花。“现在条件好了，你看，有钱买这么多烟花!”外婆望着窗外这五颜六色的烟花，说道。“真漂亮啊!”我观赏着天空中展开的一朵朵五彩缤纷的花儿，不禁赞叹道。

吃完晚饭，我们捧着一箱箱烟花爆竹，高高兴兴地下了楼。“嘭!嘣!”我们望着自己的烟花，犹如一朵朵在空中绽放的漂亮花朵，绽放后又化作无数颗一闪一闪发光的流星，从天而降，划破黑暗的星空，逐渐消失……又如天女散花一般，无比壮丽……我们点燃了各自握在手中的小棒。顿时，大家眼前一片明亮，火光四溅。我们欢乐地舞动着手中的小棒，火焰与我们一起激情舞蹈，直到燃烧尽为止……

回到家里，春卷上桌啦。我们洗完手后，争先恐后地来到桌前，狼吞虎咽地吃起了美味的春卷。“好吃吗?喜欢多吃点，想当年连个年糕要年糕票呢，想吃没得吃!”这时，外婆笑着说。“以前真穷!不过现在好啦!我要好好读书，长大后，要让这个城市变得更繁荣富强，更现代化，更美好。我要在世博会之时，让来宾知道我们很强，知道‘城市，让生活更美好’!”我说。外婆笑得更甜了，她摸摸我的头：“真是我的小乖囡!将来肯定有出息!”我们笑了，笑得是这样的甜。

改革开放以后，我们的生活发生了翻天覆地的变化，这一切是长辈们几十年来坚持不懈的奋斗结果。我要珍惜这美好的生活，好好读书，长大后做个有出息的人，让我们的生活变得更甜蜜，更繁荣富强，更美好!
