时间在钟表的嘀哒声中过去了，半小时后，饮料解决完毕，我和小朋友们个个都坐在椅子上，不停地打着饱嗝，有的还不停地上厕所。

休息了一会儿，玩的兴头又上来了，大家拿起烟花就往外跑，开始和外面的大人小孩放了起来，我也不甘落后，去年买的两百元烟花还剩下不少呢。没过多久，装着满满的烟花的袋子就空了肚子。

“爆竹声中一岁除，春风送暖入屠苏，千门万户瞳瞳日，总把新桃换旧符。”在噼里啪啦的鞭炮声中，新一年开始了!我们即将欢度中华民族最隆重，最盛大的节日——春节!或许是因为喜欢放鞭炮才认为春节是自己最喜欢的节日。 "One year old in the sound of firecrackers, the spring breeze warm into Tu Su, thousands of household pupils, always change the new peaches."In the sound, the new year has begun! We are about to celebrate the most solemn and grand festival of the Chinese nation -the Spring Festival! Perhaps it is because we like to set off firecrackers to think that the Spring Festival is our favorite festival.

听爸爸妈妈说，那年春节我吵着要去烟火，他们就抱着我到广场观看烟花。我还记得当时人山人海。“嘣，啪!嘣，啪!烟花的声音连续不断，各种各样，五颜六色的烟火一个接着一个飞上天空。”像五彩缤纷的大伞。

还记得有一年，我和邻居家的几个小孩一起到河边去放鞭炮，我们一人拿着一个打火机，“一，二，三”我们一起点燃冲天炮，四声响声过去，我们抬头看，冲天炮的包装纸像“天女散花”一样散落在我们身上。然后我小心翼翼地点燃擦炮，可能因为害怕，我捂住耳朵，只见一丝火光掠过，就爆炸了。

我意犹未尽，久久沉浸在放鞭炮的快乐中。我开始尝试几种新玩法，我点燃一个擦炮，扔进河里，沉进水里几秒钟就可以听到一声闷响，过会水泡浮出水面，同时冒出一缕白烟，真有意思!我又点燃一个擦炮，放在地上，用塑料盒子盖住，“砰”的一声，盒子被砸开，由此可见擦炮的威力可真大啊

今年春节在家，吃完年夜饭，我就跟小弟弟放烟花爆竹，我真开心。春节还有很多习俗，贴春联，吃年夜饭，看春节联欢晚会，给长辈拜年，拿压岁钱……但我还是最喜欢放鞭炮。

我想：大人物放鞭炮应该是为了驱赶一年中的霉气，对来年的期盼!但现实放鞭炮是人们生活幸福安康的一个标志。这就是我喜欢的节日——春节。这就是中华儿女最重要的节日，我爱我们的节日。

书籍是最宝贵的财富Books are the Most Precious Fortune

When my tenth birthday was coming up, I was happy imaging what kind of present my father would give me. To my surprise, Father gave me a set of books, which I was not very glad to accept. He saw what I was thinking and said kindly: "Dear, remember, books are the most precious fortune in the world, I am sure that once you finish reading the first book, you will be anxious to read the second one, then the third, the forth…" According to my fathers words, I have to give reading a try. And things really happened as he expected. Books indeed exerted a strong influence on me. From then on, I stepped into a new and wonderful world that books spread open for me.

我的十岁生日即将到来，我很高兴的想象我爸爸会给我什么样的礼物。令我惊奇的是，父亲给我一套的书，我并不是很开心。他看出我在想什么就和蔼地说：“亲爱的，记住书是世界上最宝贵的财富，我相信一旦你读完第一本书，你就会急于读第二本，第三本，第四本……”听了我爸爸的话，我不得不试着阅读一下。事情真的想他所说的那样。书的确对我产生了深刻的影响。从那以后，书给我展开了一个新的、美好的世界。

Whether a man reads history books or mathematical books, reads them in detail or just skims them, if he cares about reading at all, he will appreciating the pleasure of books. Experience tells me that what composes the joys of reading lies in the process of finding a good book, enjoying it, and learning from it.

In the first place, you will be feeling excited when you find a good book which is suitable for yourself. Reading is something of a paradox. One thinks that books are always meaningful. Yet the fact is that many of them are useless in some sense. Particularly, pornographic books describe violence, superstition. People who are taken up by such books might be misled and dispirited. Therefore, choosing an appropriate book not only improves your ability to discriminate and leads you to read effectively, but also gives you the fulfillment of knowing a good book.

Thirdly, it is fruitful for us to learn from the book after reading it. Books are our friends; they take us to all the countries in the world; they tell us stories of all ages; they teach us the truth. With reading, we can learn innumerable things we do not know, be aware of what has happened in the past as well as what is going to happen in the future, and solve the urgent problems that beset us. Gradually, we come to know how to be a real person and how to observe the world.

第三，读完一本书后来学习书中的知识是富有成效的。书是我们的朋友，他们带我们去世界上所有的国家，他们告诉我们所有年龄段的故事，他们教给我们真理。读书，我们可以学到无数我们不知道的事情，知道发在过去的事情以及未来将要发生的事情以及这个困扰着我们急需解决的问题。渐渐地，我们开始了解到如何成为一个真正的人，如何观察世界。

In all, mankind has made extraordinary progress in the accumulation of knowledge. With the invention of writing, knowledge could then not only be communicated but also be stored. Now, I am lucky for being one member of 4EW, and I am confident that I will make good use of it, learn from it, and feel the joys of reading forever.

盼呀盼呀，春姑娘回来了，春节也到了，大街小巷里都是洋溢着浓厚的喜庆味儿。家家都是喜气洋洋的，挂上了红灯笼，贴上了红春联，还要放鞭炮呢!并且到处都是人流如潮，那些辛勤劳动了一年的人们，纷纷走出了家门，人人的脸上都挂着幸福的笑容。 Hope, the spring girl is back, the Spring Festival has also arrived, the streets and alleys are full of festive tastes.Every family is full of joy, hanging a red lantern, sticking to the Red Spring Couplet, and setting off firecrackers! 大街上，挂满了红灯笼，每颗树上还牵着彩色的电线，可漂亮了。而且还时不时有人放鞭炮呢!许多商店也都关了门，回家与亲人们团聚，享受节日的美好时刻!

虽然春节里发生了许许多多的事，但我还是最喜欢这个春节的三十晚上，特别地热闹。

到了晚上的时候，在厨房里忙活了一天的妈妈，终于做好了饭菜。我，爸爸妈妈，弟弟，一家人围坐在桌旁，聚在了一起。桌上摆的菜也比平时丰富多了，美味多了，鸡禽肉蛋，山珍海味，可诱人了。吃完了饭，我们一家还在桌旁聊聊天，喝喝茶，桌上还摆了许多瓜果点心，橄榄，瓜子，李子，橘子……

到了八点的时候，春节联欢晚会开始了，我们全家人都迫不及待地坐在了电视机前。晚会里，有歌还有舞，还有小品，相声，杂技……可热闹了，我可是目不转睛，与电视机寸步不离，生怕错过一个好看的节目。每个节目都十分精彩，一个比一个有趣，一个比一个好看。看得我们全家人时而捧腹大笑，时而满心欢喜。到了大概晚上十二点的时候，家家户户都开始放起了红鞭炮，那声音犹如山崩地裂，特别地响。鞭炮差不多要放完的时候，家家户户又放起了烟花。“嗖!嗖!嗖!……”五颜六色的烟花好像天上开放的一朵朵美丽的花儿：有的红的像玫瑰，有的黄的像菊花……一串串烟花像仙女散花一样，好看极了，把新年的夜空装点得格外美丽!

看着看着，我也想自己去放烟花了，我立刻拿起了烟花棒，让爸爸点上了火，立刻，一个烟花像一匹骏马般飞入凌空，可美了。

这个晚上，兴奋的我都睡不着觉。

我多么盼望，2021的春节能快点来到呀!

Singles Day falls on every November 11th, and as the name indicates, this relatively new holiday is one exclusively for people who are still living the single life. I was a bit surprised when I googled Singles Day on the Internet, to find that China is the only country in the world that has set aside a special day for singles to celebrate their lives. An old story goes that once there were four single men, leading very boring lives. None of them were married, or had lovers, or did anything exciting. They just sat around all day and played Mahjong.

One day they played Mahjong from 11 in the morning until 11 at night. During the game, no matter who won, the winning card was always the four columns card (the card shows four independent, parallel columns in two lines). Even more of a coincidence, it was Nov 11, or 11/11. In order to commemorate the day, they nicknamed it Singles Day.

有一天他们打麻将从早上11点打到了晚上11点。奇妙的是，不管谁赢，都赢在了“四条”上。更加巧合的是，这一天正是11月11号。为了纪念这一天，他们给它命名为“光棍节”。

In recent years, people are developing aninseparable relationship with Internet. As is known toall, it is convenient for us to click the mouse whensurfing on line, either to entertain ourselves or to meet the works needs.

On the one hand, no one denies that Internet is currently one of the most useful media inour daily life. As a college student, I get on line every day to exchange information through e-mails with my net friends. But on the other hand, a good many people admit that they are toomuch addicted to Internet to maintain a regular and wholesome lifestyle.

Thus, it is necessary for us to use Internet in a reasonable way and restrain fromoverindulgence. After all，Internet is invented to enrich our life, and to improve the efficiencyof our work rather than shackle us with a chain.
