还有教士，虽然小说的开头，他就被打上了“勤奋好学的知识分子”的名号，但是他冷冰冰的面孔之下，竟藏着一颗勃勃野心，用文中的话说，“没有想到，在埃特纳火山白雪覆盖的山巅下，竟会有沸腾的、狂暴的、深沉的岩浆。”让人意想不到的是，教士竟连收养卡齐莫多都是有目的的……还有后面，教士爱上了爱斯梅拉达，却得不到她，便陷害爱斯梅拉达，他得不到的，别人也别想得到。在无形之中，教士的心灵渐渐扭曲了，却不自知。

虽然所有人都呼吁：“人人平等。”但是，我们的生活中，以貌取人的现象不在少数。街上每日素面朝天、被晒的皮肤黝黑的清洁工们，如果我们也因为外貌而排挤他们，那只会让他们心寒。每天起早贪黑，有时还不分昼夜的工作，拿着微薄的薪水，竟然换来的是这种嘲讽的眼神……难道，我们对一个人的评价，是从外貌方面而不是心灵方面？当你在见到一个其貌不扬的人的第一眼所做出的一切举动，就能反应，你是不是一个以貌取人的人。

读完故事，我明白了一个道理：只有内心善良美丽的人，他才能称得上是美丽；相由心生，而那些外表在华丽的人，内心丑恶，他终究是一个丑陋无比的人。总有一天，他的外表将会随着他的内心而改变。内在美，永远胜过外在美。
