小说的故事发生在15世纪的巴黎，情节线索的中心地点是巴黎圣母院。

主人公加西莫多是流浪的吉卜西(赛)人的弃儿，生来就畸形：独眼、驼背、跛足。吉卜西人偷偷地拿他换走了雷姆地方一个妇女的小女儿阿涅。巴黎圣母院的副主教克罗德收养了加西莫多，在成年后让他在圣母院里当敲钟人。由于长年敲钟，他的耳朵又震聋了。加西莫多忠于职务，对副主教极为崇敬，唯命是从。

修女居第尔其实就是少女的母亲。她在失去小女儿以后，带着留下的一只绣花小鞋跑遍各地寻找，在绝望的情况下皈依宗教，进了活棺材——“老鼠洞”，当了修女。当爱斯梅哈尔达看到那只小鞋时，她也拿出装在自己护身符里的一只同样的绣花小鞋，于是母女相会。修女砸断铁窗栏，把失去了十六年的女儿藏进“老鼠洞”，母女俩沉浸在骨肉团聚的欢乐里。这时被副主教喊来的监狱长和卫队包围了“老鼠洞”。母爱使居第尔产生了力量和智慧，她骗过了他们，使他们相信吉卜西少女已经逃走。但是当爱斯梅哈尔达听到法比的名字时，忍不住冲出窗口，暴露了自己。于是母女被带到刑场，女儿上绞架，母亲惨死在绞架下面。

最后，加西莫多看透了副主教的丑恶灵魂，把他从塔楼上推下去摔死后，找到爱斯梅哈尔达的尸体，紧紧地抱住它死去。

小说通过副主教的卑劣行为，非常有力地揭露了宗教的残酷和虚伪。是束缚人性的宗教使他的爱情变成可怕的欲望，害了别人，自己也得不到好下场。作品还以加西莫多外形的丑来对照他内心的美。吉卜西少女爱斯梅哈尔达是作者理想的化身，在她身上体现了雨果心目中最崇高的感情和最美的形象。

She was mistreated as a cab horse; in such a great pain that she was longing for death. And soon, it came true. At the same time, Jerry became weaker and weaker, and finally he was ill in bed after waiting for two customers on a bitter cold night. After his recovery, Jerry was told not to work as s cab driver any more, so Black Beauty was sold again.

Black Beauty’s new owner, a corn dealer, was kind to him, but the dealer’s foreman, Jakes, often overworked the horse and used the bearing rein. However, it needs our deeper thinking, a much deeper thinking. In fact, Sewell doesn’t only focus on showing Black Beauty’s great characteristics. By telling Black Beauty’s whole life story, she aimed at revealing the hard life of animals at that time and altering us the crime of those who abuse animals.

From Beauty’s suffering during his whole life time, we can see the tragic life of animals at that time. Some people ran after the so-called fashion blindly. In order to satisfy their own vanity，they ignored animals’ great pain. For example, Sir Oliver’s shortened tail. What the so-called fashion gave animals is great pain rather than a beautiful appearance. Some people knew nothing about how to keep animals, and were always making them work all day long. Years ago, I got to know that a few girls cut down a cat’s feet, and then threw it on the street, leaving it bleeding to death. And the year before, it was reported that a student from QingHua University, gave black bears sulfate to drink, which gave black bears a great pain. As to the facts that some old or sick animals are abandoned, it has been very common. At last, I want to conclude by a sentence from this book,“there is no religion without love, and people may talk as much as they like about their religion, but if it dose not teach them to be good and kind to other animals as well as humans, it is all a shame”

Recently, I read a great book, Childhood, which is written by Gorky. It’s a novel based on the experiences of the author’s tragic childhood, telling the stories about the author between his three to ten years old. Aliocha has a bad childhood. His father and mother die in his early ages, so that he has to live with his great-grandparents. His great-grandfather is bad tempered and his uncles hate him very much. Great-grandmother is the only person who cherished him. Besides, Aliocha also feel the pureness, friendship by his playmates. Through this book, we can see a poor, ugly society, but we also can see an adamant, compassionate little who constantly pursuits of good things in life. It’s hard to imagine how he can stick to the faith of life in such bad environment. As to us, we live in a much better environment; of course we should cherish our happiness and be strong to face difficulties in life.

看完《巴黎圣母院》这本书已经有一段时间了，我的内心到现在却依旧无法平静，外表丑陋的卡西莫多让我对“美”有了不一样的感悟，所以特此写下了心中感想。

雨果所著的《巴黎圣母院》主要讲述了长相丑陋但心地善良的卡西莫多为了保护美丽善良的爱斯美拉达而与人面兽心的主教代理斗智斗勇的故事。书中的人物特点鲜明，情节曲折有趣，作者用辛辣的文字讽刺了当时教会的邪恶与社会的黑暗。

书中外表丑陋但心地善良的卡西莫多给我留下了深刻的印象。

卡西莫多美吗?相信很多人都会说“不”。确实，他驼背，独眼，瘸腿，还是个聋子。这样的人确实和美沾不上边。

卡西莫多不美吗?不，他美，他的心很美。他解救了被绑架的爱斯美拉达，他信任并感恩收养他的主教代理，他救下了爱刑的爱斯美拉达，他得知真相后钉了主教随后去守护已死的爱斯美拉达。这就是他，他的心中有无比圣洁的爱，这样的他难道不美吗?

鲁迅曾说：“你可以从外表的美来评论一朵花或者一只蝴蝶，但你不能这样来评价一个人。”不错，卡西莫多的外貌固然丑陋，但你能因此评论他一无是处吗?相反，他是圣洁的，美丽的，善良的!

我们再来看看菲比斯。他美吗?是，他很英俊，让单纯的爱斯美拉达对他一见倾心。可他真的美吗?他并不爱自己的表妹，却与她结婚并利用她;他玩弄爱斯美拉达的感情，得到她后便抛弃她;他亲眼看着爱斯美拉达被绞死而无动于衷。他真的美吗?

在此之前，对于美与丑的定义，我很肤浅。我觉得美就是“漂亮”“好看”现在我有了不一样的理解。美不仅仅是外表的漂亮、好看，更是一种由内而外的善良纯洁。卡西莫多就拥有这样的美丽，他是那样的圣洁善良，这种美丽是他人所无法达到的。

在读完《巴黎圣母院》后不久，我读到奥斯特洛夫斯基的一句话：人的美并不在于外貌衣服发式，而在于他的本身，在于他的心。于是，我对“美”有了更深刻的理解：外表的美丽固然让人赏心悦目，而内在的美丽更能让人刻骨铭心!

现在我们的学习条件是多么好，有着一双明亮的眼睛，有着一双灵敏地耳朵，有着宽敞明亮的教室，有着很好的老师，可是总是有一些人不珍惜，浪费每一天。

From the story, I feel the power of wisdom and value of love. In our actual life, we may meet many kinds of difficulties and lure. We should face them bravely and try our best to overcome them. In my daily life, I often felt panic and cried when I met any difficulties about my study. Sometimes, I ask money from my parents but do meaningless things. I am really ashamed.

In the future , I decide to study hard .I do everything that I can do to reduce the pressure of parents .I will try my best to be brave and intelligent. I believe I can do better.
