故事情节颇惊心动魄，在跨越荒原的日子里，小男孩一直保护小女孩两人相依为命，产生了爱情。当小女孩跨越荒原成功摆渡到另一个世界时，因留恋小男孩而找到了回到荒原的办法再次与其相见。

当然，结局也没有让读者失望，二人一起从荒原逆行回到了人间，达到了圆满。
