In Britain, Christmas Day is normally spent at home, with the family, and it is regarded as a celebration of the family and its continuity. The excitement begins for children on Christmas Eve, when they hang up their stockings (an old sock or, more ambitiously, pillow cases) around the fireplace or at the foot of the bed for Father Christmas to fill with presents. The English Father Christmas or Santa Claus is first recorded in his traditional red and white outfit in a woodcut of 1653, but the story of Santa arriving in his reindeer-drawn sleigh and descending down the chimney to fill children’s stockings with presents derives from the USA.

Practically everyone sits down to a Christmas dinner in the early afternoon of Christmas Day, traditionally roast turkey, but some families prefer goose or roast beef. Since I went to college, I feel so excited about the new chapter of my

life. I have imagined the campus life for so many years. Now I finally come to

I dreamed I went to the snowman village. There are lots of snow in waved to me. I see there are many beautiful little house. There are a lot of Christmas elf house. learning rules never makes a practical linguist. the regular procedure in

learning english involves listening first, to be followed by speaking. then

comes reading, and finally the writing of the language. the way you learn

english is much the same as the way you learned your own language.

First of all you must listen and then repeat and repeat until you can use

the language easily. in other words, you have to build up language habits in

english just as you build up english habits in your own language. to sum up, we

must bear in mind that nobody can learn to swim for you. nobody can learn to

play ball for you. nobody can learn english for you. its up to you. you must

learn for yourself and you will learn if you really want to and are willing to

practice.

圣诞节前一天，很多商店都充满了节日的气氛。我问妈妈，圣诞节不是西方的节日吗，中国人为什么要过?妈妈笑着说：“人们只是想要感受下节日的快乐，而且很多外国人也过咱们中国的春节呢!”听妈妈这样一说，我计上心来，趁机问妈妈可不可以给我买一份圣诞礼物?妈妈开心地答应了。

这不，妈妈带着我进入超市。我看见超市里面有一棵很大的圣诞树，树上挂着许多串明亮的小彩灯，树下面是一个个用漂亮蝴蝶结扎起来的礼盒。收银员的头上也戴着圣诞帽，更衬托出节日喜庆的气氛。

妈妈让我去挑礼物，我找了半天都没有选到心怡的礼物。正当我发愁的时候，抬头看见一箱大苹果，上面分别写着“平安果”和“圣诞快乐”。妈妈让我挑一个，可是我两种都想要，妈妈只好由着我，给我买下两种。我们选了两个超级大的苹果。

“妈妈，圣诞节为什么要吃苹果?”“因为吃苹果喻意着新的一年平平安安。”哈哈，我又学到了一点知识。晚上，我们一家人开开心心地分享了这个平安果。

圣诞节早上，我穿袜子的时候，突然感觉到里面有一个什么东西，我赶忙拿出来一看，原来是一张100分的积分卡。我看后开心极了，因为这100积分，在我家可是意味着一百元钱呢，我可以和妈妈兑换成现金，然后随心所欲地买自己想要的礼物啦!

妈妈也很惊喜地说：“肯定是圣诞老人送给你的礼物!”“可是，圣诞老人为什么要给我送礼物?”我有点不相信。妈妈回答说：“因为你这段时间表现很好，完成作业很快，吃饭也很棒，圣诞老人当然要奖励你了!”“我可不可以把这个好消息告诉好朋友呢?”妈妈摇了摇头说：“告诉别人的话，明年圣诞节时，圣诞老人就不会给你送礼物了。”我虽然很想把这个好消息分享给别人，但是一想到告诉别人的话明年就不会有圣诞礼物，也就只好严守秘密了。

过了好几天，妈妈笑着说：“我要告诉你一个秘密，你听了千万不要吃惊。”然后，我终于知道送我礼物的人其实是妈妈。妈妈语重心长地说：“世界上哪有什么圣诞老人，只有爱你的人才会送你礼物，所以，你一定要做一个听话的好孩子，不让他们操心。”

妈妈真是用心良苦啊!我一定会好好学习，长大后回报爸爸妈妈。
