9.嗷!一声惊天动地的吼声，把我吓了一跳，我小心翼翼地走了过去，眼前危峰兀立，怪石嶙峋，从山洞里昂首阔步地走出来一只猛虎。它那灯笼般的大眼睛，贪婪地向四周张望。一条大尾巴不停地摇摆，那厚厚的黑黄相间的毛似件大绵袍，平平整整地披在肩上。白嘴巴上还长着长须，威武雄壮。真不愧是百兽之王!这只庞大的老虎，足有300斤。而且头大面圆，色彩斑斓的额上有个鲜明的王字，全身都是褐黄与黑色相间的条纹，毛色美丽，闪闪发亮，唇、颌、腹侧和四肢内侧都长着一片片白毛。它虎眼圆睁，一条很粗很长的大尾巴不停地挥动着，给人一种威武雄壮的感觉。

10.大象为我们表演了精彩节目。看，它吹口琴了!它用大鼻子把口琴卷住，通过鼻子呼气，口琴就响了。啊!它吹的曲子还挺有节奏呢!接着大象又表演了推车、摇铃、抬筐、抬桶等节目。同学们看了都说:大象本领真大!我家的小红马2岁了。全身紫红，像刚搽过油似的，光滑闪亮，修长的面孔嵌着铜铃似的双眼，十分有神。两耳竖起，前胸宽阔、臀部滚圆，四腿健壮有力，四蹄白如霜雪，蓬松的大尾巴像仙人用的拂尘。

11.一天，小猫看见地上有个毛线球，觉得很新奇。于是，它伸出爪子轻拨毛线球，毛线球就滚了起来，小猫越玩越带劲。看小猫那认真的表情，好像在想:?看你往哪里跑，我一定要抓住你!?小猫紧追不舍，最后，毛线球越滚越小，散成了一堆线。小猫怎么想也不明白:为什么毛线球追着追着就没了呢?小猫抖抖爪子，看着一地的毛线，无可奈何地走了。

12.大袋鼠还是动物界中的?跳高健将?和?跳远能手?呢，它每跳一步远达6米;在山坡上，顺坡而下，一下可跳12米远。高2。5米，甚至3米的障碍物，大袋鼠能一跃而过。

13.一只火狐紧紧地追赶着野兔，它那红色的身体在青山坡上像团跳跃的火球。

14.袋鼠妈妈长着一张长长的脸，雪亮的眼睛眶里镶着黑珍珠般的眼珠。尖尖的鼻子上有个黑黑的鼻子头儿，像一块香甜的巧克力。

15.忽然，小猫好像发现了新大陆。原来，它又找到了玩耍的新目标:放在叔叔书桌上的一瓶墨水。小猫跳上书桌，一边绕着墨水瓶转来转去，一边目不转睛盯着墨水瓶，好像在想:这是什么玩意儿?它好奇地用爪子碰了碰墨水瓶，墨水瓶移动了一点。小猫觉得还不过瘾，就扑了上去。?砰?地一声，墨水到处流淌。小猫觉得大事不妙，吓得?喵?地一声，撒腿就跑。叔叔刚好看见了，他哭也不是，笑也不是。

16.熊猫睡醒了就翻身起来，用前爪揉揉惺忪的眼情，好奇地望望游人，迈着蹒跚的步子走到栏杆的另一边坐下来，好像想清醒一下头脑似的。

17.卷毛也很贪吃。一次，我买了一根火腿，正好想做点别的事情，就顺手把火腿放在了桌子上。等我做完事情后回来一看，发现火腿和卷毛不见了。我于是满屋子到处找，最后在卷毛的窝边，看见卷毛正在津津有味地吃着火腿，我又可气、又可笑。

18.我原以为，金蝉一出壳就是很漂亮的。事实并非如此。刚出壳的金蝉除了背上那一层保护甲外，全身都是灰白色，折叠的翅膀看上去非常小。但是，很快就发生了奇迹般的变化。又小又嫩的翅膀逐渐地变大，很快盖住了身子，像两把长长的扇子拖在身后。它肚子弹簧似的在不停地颤动着，每颤动一次，身上的颜色就由浅而深地变化一次，渐渐地变成深绿色，变成棕黑色，()翅膀上出现了排列整齐、图案精巧的斑纹，蝉触角也显现出一道道灰白色的光环。

19.翠鸟喜欢停在水边的苇秆上，一双红色的小爪子紧紧地抓住苇秆。它的颜色非常鲜艳。头上的羽毛像橄榄色的头巾，绣满了翠绿色的花纹。背上的羽毛像浅绿色的外衣。腹部的羽毛像赤褐色的衬衫。它小巧玲珑，一双透亮灵活的眼睛下面，长着一张又尖又长的嘴。

20.那狮子大得吓人，形状狰狞可怕。它原是躺在笼子里，这时转过身，撑出一只爪子，伸了一个懒腰;接着就张开嘴巴，从容地打了一个哈欠，吐出长有两手掌左右的舌头来舔眼圈上的尘土，洗了个脸，然后把脑袋伸出笼外，睁着一对火炭似的眼睛四面观看，那副神气，可以使大勇士也吓得筋酥骨软。

21.卷毛更多的时候是可爱，它好像能理解人，具有灵性。记得有一次，奶奶的腿不小心被碰了一下，流了很多血，疼得很厉害。卷毛跑到奶奶的身边，用舌头给奶奶舔伤口，还用嘴帮奶奶衔来了布，高兴得奶奶每次见人就夸卷毛。

22.别看它样子笨拙，活动起来可灵活了。螃蟹是横着走路的，走起路来像个横冲直撞的醉汉，难怪有句歌谣:?横冲直撞真糟糕?呢!那些家伙还作起了自己的?热身运动?。有的竟当起了?运动员?，学起了?举重?，大钳子一张一合。它们的运动?细胞?可真够活跃的。

23.青蛙爱吃小昆虫，观察它捕食的动作才有趣呢。有一天，我静静地蹲在池塘边上的大树后面，细心地观察着。一只青蛙蹲在地上，张着嘴巴仰着脸在等待着什么。突然，一只小虫飞过来，只见青蛙猛地向上一窜，舌头一钩，又落在地上。小虫不见了，青蛙又恢复了原来的样子，耐心地等待着。

24.孔雀头上有几根彩色的翎毛，一抖起来，那翎毛轻轻颤动，惹人喜爱。它有一对凤眼，尖尖的嘴，细长的脖子，上面长着像鱼鳞花纹一样的羽毛。这些羽毛蓝里透绿，油光油光的，在阳光照耀下，闪闪发亮，显得更加美丽。说来也巧，同学们用花手帕在空中摆来摆去，孔雀真的开屏了。只见一只花孔雀把尾巴抖得哗哗响，那漂亮的尾巴像仙女手中的彩扇，慢慢散开，又像透亮的珍珠撒在它身上，非常美丽。尾巴一开屏，鲜艳夺目，五光十色，使人眼花缭乱。那些像桃形的花纹，外面一圈是灰色的，第二圈是浅蓝色的，最后一圈是宝石蓝的，还带点暗红色，真漂亮。它可神气了，昂着头，挺着胸脯，来回转着，炫耀着自己的美丽。

25.它一身的白毛像雪似的，中间夹着数块墨色的细毛，黑白相间，白的显得越白，而黑的越发显得黑了。脸一半儿白，一半儿黑，两颗小电灯泡似的眼睛在脸中间闪呀闪，见我低下头看它，它也一个劲地盯着我。一条全黑的尾巴躺在地上，悠然自得地摇摆着。嘴张得很大，露出几颗嫩白的小齿，咪咪地叫着，那几根细鱼骨头似的白胡须，傲傲地动着。

26.狡猾的狐狸一旦被猎人捉住以后，还会?装死?，暂时像奄奄一息，任人摆布，但乘人不备，又能突然逃去。

27.白熊外表蠢笨，但它却是动物中的?游泳能手?和?赛跑健将?，你看它在海水中能一下子游上20公里，在陆地上跑起来，狗拉的雪撬也追不上它。

28.袋鼠走路时像个跛子，后腿一蹬地，前腿就向前走一步，后腿也跟着慢慢地向前跳一步。这时，它那条尾巴便随着后腿向前移动，保持身体的平衡。

29.自然界的熊猫，毛色光亮，一身雪白间有几处黝黑的毛色，仿佛是特意设计的。它那竖得圆圆的黑耳朵，像戴着一顶风雪帽;猫似的面庞上又戴着一副墨镜;四肢穿着黑绒绒的尖皮靴;肩披匀称连接的黑披肩，真是神气十足，令人瞩目。更吸引人的是熊猫吃竹子，它折下嫩竹，先将竹茎及叶咬下来，攒在嘴巴里，再用爪握住，左一口，右一口，有条不紊地吃着，一束杂乱的竹枝，咬得刀切一样齐。

30.雄壮威武的东北虎站起来了!只见它昂着头，张着脸盆似的大嘴，打了个哈欠，然后吐出一条血红血红的舌头，舔了舔尖刀般的牙齿，翘了翘钢针似的白胡须，全身抖了两抖，便迈开大步。你看，它全身金黄，还有一道道黑色的斑纹，一双绿绿的眼睛里射出凶光，在铁笼里大摇大摆地走来转去，可真像个威风凛凛的大将军。后面拖着的那条尾巴不就是它的武器钢鞭吗?

31.在姐姐家的时候，我总爱睡懒觉，可气的是它每天早上都把我的脚当做老鼠啃来啃去，不过啃得不疼，爪子抓的却疼，还有点痒，特别难受，让我睡不成觉。

32.鸭子向来都是游泳健将了。可我家的“游泳健将”在水中却笨拙得像一只鸡，“手脚并用”胡乱扑腾，却不得章法，溅起一大堆水花，却浮不起来，依然像秤砣一样往下沉，它们就拼命挣扎，甚至仿效小鸟煽动翅膀，想“死里逃生”，好几次都快被淹死了，我实在不忍心了，只好将它打捞起来。

33.小猫刚到我家时对谁都不熟，成天躲在床底下呼呼睡大觉，怎么都不出来，连晚上都原地不动。后来终于跟我熟悉了，有一次我拿溜溜球在玩，小猫看见这个一上一下的溜溜球，头也跟着球一上一下地摇着、摆动着……突然，它一跳把溜溜球一抓，溜溜球被它抓到了，自己玩得挺起兴，到把我吓了个六神无主、神魂颠倒，好一会儿才回过神来。

34.小狗一向喜欢暖和、柔软的地方，一旦你把它抱到被上去，它就会一个劲儿地玩耍，从被的最上面滚到下面，再从下面滚到上面。如果你把它抱到软垫子上，它就会肚皮朝上，四只小爪子勾勾着，紧闭双眼睡大觉。倘若你把它给吵醒，它就会六亲不认，马上起来咬你一口，再继续睡大觉。

35.小八吓个半死一动不动，双眼看着我，似乎在祈求我的原谅。它全身湿透了像个落汤鸡。我的脑海瞬间出现了一个想法，难道八哥会洗澡?

36.我眼看着飞盘从院子的墙上跃了过去。那墙上有个大洞，下面还有一块砖头，我爬过去都要费很大的力气，可是小狗旺旺跳得却很轻松，只见它先跳到砖头上，然后向上一跃，很轻松地就跳了过去，把我看得目瞪口呆，连它回来了我都不知道。

37.我们刚进二姨家豆豆就像箭一样的冲向了卡布，把卡布撞到在地，他们俩打了起来。打了一会儿他们相互舔了舔、闻了闻和好了。开饭了我扔了块骨头给卡布和豆豆，他们边打边抢，不一会儿他们吃完了那块骨头。我们又给他们扔了些别的吃的，卡布和豆豆吃饱了开始追着咬对方。我问爸爸卡布和豆豆在干什么?爸爸说“他们在玩”。

38.我和小花猫来到了花园，花园里朵朵花散发出了淡淡的清香，只见小雪从我的怀里跳了出来，追着蝴蝶乱跑起来。我走到亭子上的椅子前坐了下来，小雪向我跑来，我抱着小雪来到了花朵前，小雪又从我的怀里跳了下去。它走到花朵前，用鼻子闻香味，样子十分顽皮可爱。

39.我放学回家时，可算是小狗最开心的时候。只要小狗在家，我在放学回家的路上离家门口还有一段路总可看见小狗在门前等着我。它看见了我，就会摇着尾巴往我这里飞奔而来，然后在我人前人后蹦来蹦去。这么机灵的小狗能不讨人喜欢吗?

40.旺旺对我很热情。记得有一次，我放学回家，旺旺老远就看到了我，它急忙跑过来接我，只见它一会儿趴我身上，一会儿围着我转，还时不时舔舔我的脚，然后陪我回家。到家后它还是围着我转来转去，直到我抚摸着它的头，它才肯乖乖地回到它的狗窝。有时我会喂它一根骨头，这时它就会高兴地舔舔我的手，然后就低下头吃了起来。

41.晚上小八睡着了它把藏进了它的羽毛里，看上去就像头不见了一样。可它的脚却还是用力的抓住鸟笼里内置的秋千上，一有动静它又立马醒了过来。十分谨觉，像有人要攻击它一样。

42.时间一天天过去，鸭子们的饭量变大了，每天要喂食好几次，饿了就用那难听的‘公鸭子’嗓音大声抗议，吃饱了就一堆一堆地拉很臭的便便，让我很没面子。特别让妈妈讨厌的是，它们在我们一家乘凉之时，大摇大摆地走过来，放肆地拉一泡屎，然后踱着官步，相当淡定地扬长而去，让我妈大为光火。

43.每当我去上学，小狗总是会送我一段路程，直到我假装生气打它两三下，它才乖乖地跑回家去。它不但会送我去上学，还喜欢和我一起赛跑，跑得十分快，有时，把我落了一段路程。平时，它看起来很胆小，但看见陌生人时，却又不失威猛地睁着双眼紧盯着陌生人的一举一动，关键时还会大声叫。

44.领头的鸡棚“小卫士”听到了狗的喘息声，立马警惕起来，一看，原来有一只狗跟了上来。它机智地绕到了流浪狗后面，只见这条流浪狗比它得大三倍，可它却一点畏惧感都没有，而是猛地扑上去，狠狠地啄着那条狗的头。流浪狗发怒了，一转身就咬了一口鸡尾巴。“小卫士”忍着痛，仍不停地使劲啄着流浪狗。可是毕竟狗还是比“小卫士”强大，流浪狗把它摁倒在地上。

45.乐乐不仅可爱，而且还很淘气。记得有一次，我放学回家，正准备做作业，可是一回头，发现乐乐在我的书包上蹦蹦跳跳的。它那臭脚丫毫不留情地把漂亮的书包弄脏了，我非常生气，对他大叫“快滚下来，快滚下来!”乐乐好象被吓着了，急忙跳下来，发出低鸣声，好像在说：“对不起，小主人。”我不理它，于是它又跑到我面前，撒娇似的添了添我的脚，弄得我痒痒的，真逗!后来，我原谅了它。

46.姥姥家有一只小狗，一身黄色的毛，额头有一小撮雪白的毛，看起来好像是被王母娘娘贬下凡尘的二郎神，错投了狗胎，变成了如今这副模样。因此，我们都叫他“二郎神”。一对明亮的眼睛眨呀眨的，时常望着天空出神，好像在想念他的“真君神殿”。一张伶俐的小嘴，里面却长满了锋利的牙齿，如果有生人来，它就会文静的走到你身边，蹭蹭你的大腿，等你转过身，趁你不留神，就会狠狠地咬你一口。

47.刚开始，布谷鸟像被猫抓似的，扑扇着翅膀拼命想往外飞。我每天给它喂食，饮水喝。它不吃也不喝。过了几天，它好像熟悉了这个地方，开始吃食喝水。一天早上，它竟然唱起了歌，而且蹦蹦跳跳的。布谷鸟叫着“布谷、布谷”的声音，好像在召唤自己的同伴。

48.这只狗的步相，常常让我发笑，他那小腿，让人感到他走的速度很慢，其实非常敏捷，仔细看着好像在跳跃。他先迈开前腿，随着后腿往前伸，跑起来非常有劲。

49.小灰为白项圈站岗，保卫白项圈的安全，吃饭的时候也总是主动在白项圈吃饱之后才过来吃，散步的时候，小灰垂着头，撅着屁股，屁颠屁颠地追随着白项圈，一副俯首贴耳的样子。

50.咪咪高兴时，能比谁都温柔可亲。用身子蹭你的腿，把脖子伸出来让你给它抓痒。它要是不高兴，任凭谁说多少好话，它也一声不吭，甚至张牙舞爪。

Russian Scientists Surrounded by Polar Bears

俄罗斯科学家被北极熊包围

Relief supplies finally arrived on a remote Arctic island where a group of scientists had been trapped in a weather station. Up to a dozen polar bears had surrounded the station on the island of Troynoy and set up camp approximately two weeks ago. The bears were becoming more aggressive over time, killing one of the stations dogs and breaking a window. On Wednesday, a helicopter that picked up supplies from a nearby vessel arrived with dogs and flares and was able to scare away the bears and allow the researchers to get back to work.
