I am highly disappointed in the proposed 2004-05 budget cuts to educa1ion. Taking away basic aid status and slashing our school budgets is a recipe for educational disaster in our school. The future lies with our children. They must have access to high quality educa1ion.

My husband and I have worked hard to be able to live in a school district that provides high quality education for our children. Cutting funding in districts like ours will have a negative impact on property values.

The school that my daughter attends is hardly wha1 I would describe as a "rich" school. Parents are asked to pay for books for all the classes, science supplies and for their students to participate in the performing arts among other items. If our school is to remain a world leader in technological development, cutting our school funds is the worst possible choice to make.

Education funds should not be diverted away from education.

看看那些在河沟中漂浮的垃圾；看看那些我们使用过的肆意横流并直接排向河道的污水；看看那些河边一个个正在排放污水的管道，你就知道我们的行为正在给河流带来多大的污染。要知道我们每浪费一滴水，每扔一片垃圾，多用的一点洗衣粉，排向河流或管道的每一杯污水，都可能造成十倍甚者百倍的水体污染。

你看，太阳的光泽被雾霾掩盖，森林姐姐失去了翠绿的衣裳，金刚鹦鹉的身影成了历史；夜空不再有一颗星星，晚霞不再如此艳丽，耸立的高楼大厦被蒙上了灰纱，异兽珍禽没了影迹……当今环境恶化令人担扰。如果从现在开始还不去了解人类环境的结构；还不认识到环境问题的严重性；还不去保护环境，爱护我们赖以生存的家园，我们的生命我们的未来将毁在我们自己手中。

美好的地球环境是我们赖以生存的基础，可是人们为了眼前利益而无视环境利益；为了追求经济利益，森林大片砍伐；一次性筷子的使用不知毁了多少森林；碧绿青山被挖掘被开采，地球千苍百孔；美丽草原成了荒漠；青山秃了，草原荒了。森林被毁，草原荒化，水土流失，植被减少，沙漠化增多，生态失衡，气候恶化。

人类为了满足口腹之欲，疯狂捕杀野生动物，野生动物灭绝的种类越来越多。如果长此往无视环境，不去保护生态链，最后只会剩下人类这个“聪明”的物种，这不是危言耸听！有些工厂为了自身的利益，无视环境，不顾对环境的污染和破坏，排放工业废水，废渣，废气。河水污染，空气污染，环境污染。河湖江，水变浊了，水变脏了，水变臭了，天空不再蓝了，蓝天白云不见了，雾霭笼罩已成常态。

人们的口袋鼓了，生活富裕了，生存环境却一日不如一日。不要以为钱是万能的，什么都可以解决。有些东西是钱买不来的。如生命，如环境！

如果我们无视环境，不去保护生态，到时人们每天吃着的是毒食物，喝着的是毒水，全部是“黑色食品”，“绿色食品”那将只是个美丽的传说。到时，像“SARS”一样的病毒，就像小感冒一样流行。那时，人们出行都是面戴“防毒面具”，因为大气污染太严重了，不戴“防毒面具”，十秒都活不了！

如果无端砍伐森林，到时“树”将只会在“植物博物馆”能见到。那时“沙尘暴”将是每天上演的必修课。

地球是我们生存的家园，大自然与我们是不可分割的共同体，是我们赖以生存的绿洲。天蓝地绿，山川秀美，清新空气，绿色家园是我们永恒的追求和理想。

如何爱护好“地球母亲”的身体，让“地球妈妈”永远年轻美丽，人类从现在开始必须有环保意识，环境危机意识，从小事做起，从一点一滴做起，让地球远离污染，让绿色环保走进千家万户。

为了“地球母亲”的明天，为了我们人类的未来：环保从我做起，从小事做起，人人参与环保中来吧！
