虽然最后人类看到的只有老渔民和鲨鱼的尸体，但是人们仍然能如此真切的感受到这条鱼和捕鱼者的精神力量。

“一个人可以被毁灭，但不能被打败。”老人最后说的这句话，富有哲理。就如音乐大师贝多芬所说：“我可以被摧毁，但我不能被征服。”这些不能被打败的是勇气，这些不能被征服的是高贵。更让人受启发的是：那男孩的关爱使得老人活下来，也就是说，能让人活下去的动力就是——“爱”!

海面昏沉沉的，一种眩晕感随即而来，天空未亮，迎接我们的是黑压压的大海，那个孕育着希望又给人无限压抑的地方，船将启程，我们思考着明天的故事！

坐在船尾，我默默注视着老人，面容很老却很厚，眼神很深邃，一眼忘不到，他的故事应该很多很长，而我仅仅与他经历着短短一小部分。他总把大海看作一名女性，温柔又充满爱，老人随着黑鸟寻找目标，他想找到大鱼，他看到了大鳍鸠，却被大鸟打草惊蛇的扰乱了，他眼巴巴的看着鳍鸠逃走了，转眼又看到一只僧帽水母，他是极不喜欢水母的，他讨厌水母身上的毒素，给鱼提供了生存的空间，人沾到它后就会受到很大的伤害，从心底里他不愿看到水母。他更喜欢听到自己用长着老茧的硬脚掌踩在它们上面时发出啪的爆裂的声音。

老人对海龟是怀着一颗怜悯之心的，海龟在被杀死解剖后，心脏还会跳动几个小时，老人想，他也有一颗这跳动样的心脏。他不像其他渔夫一样这样解剖海龟，他只吃海龟蛋补充能量。

在捕鱼时，他也开始自言自语的大声说话，以前和男孩在一起时，老人总觉得打鱼时不大声说话是一种好品德，但现在，他不这样认为，在这莫大的海上，除了他自己，没人会听到他的声音，他想说什么便说什么，好像整个内心都释放了。

最近我读了《老人与海》，书中的老人让我非常感动和佩服。他是个渔夫，孑然一身，驾着小船。在墨西哥湾流中钓鱼，连续84天一无所获。我们可以想象一下，84天没捕到鱼是个多么大压力！

但书中的主角桑地亚哥却不这么觉得，希望和信心从未在他的心中消失过，因为他还记得，曾经他有八十七天没有捕到大鱼，但接下来的三个礼拜却天天捕到大鱼。

八十五是个吉利数字。那天凌晨时分，月亮还没有消失，老人出海了！他的信心焕然一新，如同乍起的微风。老人终于在第85次捕到了一条大鱼，但这条鱼实在太大了，把他的小船在海上拖了三天才筋疲力尽，他杀死绑在小船的边上，但在归程中又碰到鲨鱼的袭击，于是，老人与鲨鱼进行了殊死搏斗，最后回来时只剩下鱼头鱼尾和一条脊骨。这些可能在一些人眼里他一文不值，但在老人眼里却是巨大的收获。

是什么力量让老人坚持下来？当我读到作者海明威在书中的一句名言：“一个人并不是生来就要给打败的，你可以很被毁灭，却不能打败。”我豁然明白，老人就是靠着这种顽强和勇敢的意志，挑战一次又一次危险，征服了大鱼，战胜了鲨鱼。

回想自己，经常碰到一点点困难就不耐烦，经常因考试成绩不好而失落，对自己没有信心，这些和经受了那么多打击的老渔夫相比，是多么不值一提。

今天，我再次读了《老人与海》这本书。这本书讲的是一个老人，他是一个渔夫，瘦骨嶙峋。他有一艘小船，靠打渔为生，但是他不太走运，连续八十四天没打到鱼了。到了第八十五天，他认为这是一个幸运的数字，打算去远海打鱼，希望能打一条大鱼，可是，老人却被那条大鱼带到了大海的深处。

又经过了几天几夜的努力，老人和大鱼搏斗了许久，终于在大鱼徘徊在小船边的时候用小刀刺进了大鱼的心脏。大鱼在死前蹦跳了一下，跳进了老人的小船里，大海都被鱼的血给染红了。

在回来的路上又遭到了鲨鱼的袭击，鱼的一大半都被鲨鱼吃了，鱼钩也被打断了，最后，老人用仅有的木棒加上他多年来和鲨鱼搏斗的经验把它们赶走了。

读到这里，我被老人坚强的毅力、乐观的心态和永不放弃的精神深深的震撼了。记得以前，我有一次画画考级，老师说一个小时内必须画完，我想：这怎么可能呢？之前画一幅画都要一个半小时。

就在这时，我想到了《老人与海》这个故事，想到他永不放弃的精神，想到这里，我拿起笔画了起来，经过努力的奋斗，终于在一个小时内成功画完一幅画。

有志者事竟成，这话一点也没错，我要继续学习老人永不放弃的精神。

做人也应该这样，不要一幅贪生怕死的样子，要对自己有信心。即使我们遇到重重困难，也绝不应该让它给打倒，应该勇敢地去消灭它。

我们是祖国的未来，应该像桑提阿果爷爷一样胸怀大志，去追求更好，更大的目标。我相信，在我的努力下，我一定会变得像桑提阿果爷爷那样勇敢，那样勇于拼搏。

我读过的许多好书中唯一能让我真正感动就是著名作家海明威写的《老人与海》。

桑提亚哥的自信是绝对自信，是不以环境变化而变化的自信，是不用与他人比较的自信。在桑提亚哥的生存哲学中，即使遭遇到了极点的背运，人也只能自信。

人活着，唯一能确定的必然，就是走向死亡。除此之外，没有任何必然的东西可以依靠。既然人是靠偶然活着的，那么支撑人生存勇气的，就只有自信了。如果丧失了自信，在持续那么多天的背运之后，桑提亚哥还有勇气和毅力出海捕鱼吗？因此人活着就必须自信，不自信是人消费不起的奢侈品。正因为桑提亚哥有着绝对自信，他对小孩被叫走，表示了完全的宽容和理解。在这里，海明威展现了自信与宽容之间的联系。

从物质上来说，老人搏斗了三天三夜的结果是失败了；但从人的精神、从人的自信自尊，从人勇于和命运作竭尽全力的抗争来说，桑提亚哥取得了胜利。

说到底，人的真正胜利也只能是精神的胜利。人在物质上无论取得多大的成就，都不能赢得我们崇高的敬意。而只有精神和气魄的胜利，才使我感动，才使我和追随老人的孩子一样，为他的悲壮落泪。

当我读完了这本书后，我异常激动。我的这种激情伴随着我的笔迸发出来。

——my thoughts after reading Joan of Arc

Sunshine shines over the statue in Orleans. The ordinary but famous girl named Joan is riding on her horse, smiling and looking down at the land that she has loved and fought on. She is the heroine of France, the saint from heaven. Her influences shine over every person’s heart, and I am deeply impressed by her story.

When Louis XIII was the king, the British and the Burundians invaded France and wanted to have the northern part of France. Joan helped French people coronate their new king, Louis XIV, getting almost all the invaded land back with the help of three saints. But after that, she was caught by the Burundians and was burnt on a cross by her enemy. This is the famous story about Joan, the saint. From a village girl to a national heroine, she only used a few years. How could Joan of Arc do that? I wonder.

Someone says the saints have chosen her and the God has given her power. But actually the real virgin doesn’t exist, From the birth of Jesus Christ in the first century, people have controlled the Christianity. I think the religion has become a tool between people. This kind of opinion about the success of Joan must be wrong.

Someone said, Joan had this wonderful success because of her confidence and will. I quite agree with this opinion. Because there aren’t any virgins in the world, so I think the appearance of the saints was only in Joan’s mind, actually nothing special happened to Joan. I think the things which really mattered were Joan’s thoughts. In my opinion, Joan must have some military ability to lead the whole army, because of her unusual image, Joan became more confident to the success. It let Joan had the will to be successful. So the success before did not happen by accident,. After some battles, Joan said that she had lost her support from the saints, but actually this didn’t mind. The more important thing was that she had lost her confidence and will, so she lost the battle at last.

So I think confidence and will are just like the foundation of success. All the success depends on them.

In the real world, confidence and will is always very important. During the XX Athens Olympic Games, Li Ting and Sun Tiantian have won the gold medal for the women’s double in the tennis game. It was the first time our anthem playing on the tennis court. Some medium says that they have won by chance. It was only a fairy tale. But I don’t think so. In the book, the old man prepared his fishing properly and preciously than any other fishermen so that “Then when luck comes you are ready” as the old man thought to himself. In reality, some of us keep complaining that they are born in wrong time or good luck never knocks their doors. In fact, good luck sometimes just comes when they are not ready. Taking Newton for example, if he had not acquired a lot, millions of apples could never make him discovery the gravity. So if we just keep studying as much as we can, good luck will finally find us and a bright future is ahead of us. The old man never gives up hope. When all of people think he is doomed, he still strongly believes that he will get a big fish. And he does. So never giving up hope is very important to us. This reminded me of the sentence in Churchill’s speech “Never give up, never, never, never…”. “But man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated” has always been inspiring me when I counter with some setbacks in my life. Setbacks are inevitable in pursuit of our goals, but we should never be frustrated and should be “graceful under heavy pressure” like the old man. It is his relentless pursuit that contributes to the victory.
