Christmas is one of the most important celebrations of the year for the western countries. It falls on the twenty- fifth of December and has the same importance as Chinese New Year to people with English backgrounds. The celebration is for the birth of Jesus Christ, who is the son of God in Christianity. Now days Christmas is no longer only celebrated by the Christians, but by most people from all over the world.

On the twenty- fourth of December everyone gets excited for it’s the day before Christmas which is called Christmas Eve. The children are usually sent to bed early and are warned that “Santa Claus will only come and give you a present if you be good.” The younger kids actually believe that Santa will come down the chimney on the sleigh that’s pulled by his reindeers. Food like short bread and beer are prepared for Santa when he comes, however most times parents just eat them. There is a big skating ground near our school. In winter, I often go skating there, and I enjoy the sport very much.

At first, I only went there to watch others skating. Some with good skills could skate wonderfully. I admired them from the bottom of my heart. But I couldn’t do it myself. I was only an onlooker. How I longed to skate myself!

I began to make up my mind to learn it. But as soon as I stepped on the ice, I stumbled over myself. At once, some people caught me, and I turned red over their laughter. We all like to make friends, we live in a society that we need to communicate with others. Without a friend, one can never express his emotions, no one share his sorrow and happiness. Making friends balances ones emotions, you can talk to friends any things, like secret, which you dont want to share with our parents. But here is the fact that not everyone is suitable to be friend, we need to obey the rules. First, the guy must be honest. Honesty is the base of the being friends, to be frank and then to be close. Second, there is something common in you two. The same interest always brings two hearts close, the more something in common, the better, thus he will be your best friends, you can share things with him. Making friends is a big deal, cause if you make the wrong one, you may get the negative thing from him.

One day, mother and i went to climb mount huang. when i began to climb, i

felt very easy. but when i climbed the haft way, i was very tired.and quite out

in recent years, more and more migrant workers have moved into big cities and they have been ma-ki-ng great contributions to the development of cities. new buildings need them, roads cant be repaired without them, and the planting and protecting of trees and flowers depend on them. indeed, they play an important role in the construction of cities in china today.

however, they have brought about some problems. the biggest one is the increase of the city population. the once crowded cities have now become more crowded. and their arrival may cause a serious crisis in housing, water and other resources. in addition, they have taken so many jobs that the labor market in cities has become even weaker. whats more, some of the farmland is left uncultivated as a result of the farmers emigration.

in my opinion, migrant workers contributions outweigh the inconveniences they bring us. on the whole, they have become an important part of our socialist builders. nevertheless, the government should work out new policies to control the emigration of farmers on the one hand and to protect migrant workers rights and interests on the other hand.

As we all know, reading has a lot of benefit. It can open up our eyes because books are full of knowledge, and it makes us wiser and richer in life. I like readiry; newspapers and magazines, from which I get lots of fun and learn about whats going on around the world. I also read story books and novels in my spare time which make me relaxed and happy. I seldom read e-books because theyre bad for eyes. On weekends, I usually spend a whole afternoon reading in the library. And I also read for about half an hour before going to bed every night.

Long long ago, many families had three or four children. They couldnt look after everyone well, so the children must do everything by themselves. They were too poor to go to school. Some of them liked learning, but they had to go to find jobs to make money. Since they were children, they could do lots of difficult things like their parents. Sometimes they even did better than them!

But now, many families have only one child and they regard their child as a pearl. They did everything for the children. Every day, when the child gets up, their parents help him to make the room clean. They also get breakfast ready for their child. When the child is free, they can sleep or do other things, but they neednt do any housework. So many children cant cook; wash their clothes, some dont even know how to clean the floor. That’s too bad.

In the future, many families will have computers. We can work on the computer instead of going out to do everything. The children also can learn on the computers, so they dont need to move! After a long time, well become fatter and fatter. We wont be able to do anything by ourselves!

So, which way is good for us? We must think more.

在将来，许多家庭拥有电脑。我们可以在电脑上工作，而不是去做每一件事。孩子们也可以在电脑上学习，所以他们不需要走动!长时间以后，我们会变得越来越胖。我们做不了任何事情!

所以，什么样的方式对我们是好的?我们必须想得更多的。

My View on Hobby

Everybody has his own hobby. Hobbies not only make our life colorful, but also bring us lots of benefits. Hobbies help us to relax after a long period of hard work, and offer various activities for the people who are retiring. As to my mother, her hobby is to go square dancing after supper. She said, square dancing can make her forget her own problems and stay in good health. As to my father, his hobby is watching football games on TV. Among all my hobbies, the favorite one is reading. When I was a little girl, I love reading comic books. When I m getting old, I love fiction very much. I have so much fun from reading them. My favorite fiction is Pride and Prejudice. It not only provides knowledge, but also teaches us the right attitude toward life. I think reading makes my life complete. I will keep on reading. That s my favorite hobby.
