书中记叙的苛西与三毛的爱情贯穿了整本书，从刚开始的“沙漠中的饭店”，“结婚记”中的恩爱，“死果”中苛西的担忧，……他们的性格很像，一样勇敢，喜欢探索，善良，苛西却更加理性，三毛更加豁达。不仅是爱情，对于人性的批判也无不贯穿全文，最令我惋惜的便是黑奴与沙伊达。人类的控制与压迫欲望，嫉妒与偏见的丑恶嘴脸被无线放大，而黑奴与沙伊达便是一切的承受者，明明善良又温柔。礼貌而文明，却被一些思想落后，自以为文明的人所批判令人气愤又寒心。

从这本书中，我可以学习到三毛那种乐观豪放的性格。对谁都留有怜悯的善良，也可以从中反思自己如同撒哈拉威一样的无知和自私。还能感受到撒哈拉独特的美。
