The Hunger Games, is written by Suzanne Collins. The central ruling city, named the capitol, holds the hunger games. Every year, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games are just a nationally televised event in which Tributes must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

To my surprise, Katniss involved in the hunger games, replaces her sister to play. She moves forward with faith, and finally wins both love and the hunger games. By the way, Katniss and Peeta are the tributes from district 12. Finally, they survive to the end and return home.

In my opinion, the Hunger Games is written mainly against domination. In another word, the hunger games are the product of domination. From the growth of Katniss, I deeply impressed that she is not only minute but also representative and aspirant, for the Hunger Game is not only a game itself as a show, but also the game between the Capitol and other 12 districts. This is a game about domination and revolution. In the Hunger Games, there are many moving scenes. While peeta joins the tributes from the richer districts. However, when he has the opportunity to kill Katniss, he instead saves her from the others. But Rue skilled by another tribute, whom Katniss then kills, Katniss sings to Rue until she dies, which encourages the watching people to chase for freedom and be against domination.

Besides this, I also learn something about hope from the story. Katniss moves all the way forward with hope. She tells peeta in the arena,If we win, we will each get a house in the part of town reserved for Hunger Games’ victors。 She does not give up but does everything she can to increase the possibility of survival. As young adults, we should also have faith in our future. Ups and downs as we may face, none of them is challenging enough compared with the death threat Katniss encounters. Katniss never losed hope. Neither should we.

At the end of Hunger Games, when the couple remain last, the rule changes back. One must kill the other to win. Knowing that the gamemakers would rather have to victors than none, Katniss offer some highly poisonous berries to peeta. Realizing that Katniss and Peeta instead to commit suicide, the gamemakers announce that they both will be victors of the 74th Hunger Games. Katniss is very mature, brave and wise. She is a b role model for young girls with her character"s sacrifice, courage, moral grounding in a world that"s lost its own, and will to fight for what"s right, even if it means sacrificing her own life or sparking a revolution.

Although the reality is cruel for almost every character in the fiction, the positive side of humanity and love is always bright.

Its long long ago, maybe before I can read english books. I dont remember which movie edition I had seen. But I was impressed by the music, the scenery and the costume. I was very favor of a section of music in its balls. Its

pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. Regarding to the characters, I liked Elizabeth, the heroine, though I didnt think shes beautiful. But shes smart. However, I didnt pay much attention to the plot. I thought its so long that it made me impatient and bored. By now, I havent read the whole story in English or its Chinese version, either. I owe it to my prejudice.

In fact, I didnt understand the story at that time. I didnt know why it called Pride and Prejudice. Of course someone was pride, but I didnt find where s the prejudice. I thought its normal, the way people treated each other in that. I considered prejudice would be very disgusting.

The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingways most enduring works and may very well become one of the true classics of this generation. It played a GREat part in his winning the Pulizer Prize in 1953 and the 1954 Novel Prize for Literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. Hemingway is also one of my favorite writers. Besides The Old Man And the Sea, I have read some of his other works, such as The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms and The Snow of Kilimanijaro. But The Old Man and the Sea is the one that left the deepest impression on me.

I first read this book when I was in my fifteens. And now I remember it just as well as if I had read it yesterday.

Pride and Prejudice is a chefdoeuvre.

My first impression of this story was from screen.

Afterwards and further because in the big marlin wound fish fishy smell brought in several crowds of shark fish snatches the food, but the old person still did not hope like this to give up, finally highlighted encircles tightly, returned to the big fish belt the fishing port, lets other fishermen not admire already.

When I read “ the senior fisherman think: Here to the seacoast really was too near, perhaps could have a bigger fish in a farther place… ” When, I extremely admire this senior fisherman, because he by now already projected on some fish, but he had not settled to the present situation, but was approaches the bigger goal advance. Again has a look us, usually meets one slightly is difficult, we all complain incessantly. Just because had this kind of spirit, the senior fisherman only then achieved this life and death contest success. We also must study senior fishermans spirit in life, handles the matter does not fear the difficulty, only then can obtain successfully.

But the big fish’s meat was already eaten one most, but the old person also charmingly criticized oneself the left hand " this work time actually was resting " time, I also was subdued by the old person optimistic spirit. In the life, some losses are inevitable, we should treat by the optimistic manner, cannot be calculating.

Finally, the novel sees by one youth the senior fisherman fully has 18 foot long big marlin in the measure, once more described this fish’s hugeness, explained senior fisherman overcomes the difficulty was big, non- was more common than.

The novel eulogized the spirit which the senior fisherman fear hard and dangerous diligently did not struggle, we also should like his such, could not satisfy the present situation, should positively to above, do any matter all is relentless, meets difficultly must welcome difficultly above, could give up halfway in no way.

Teachers who teach French do not understand sign language and have to be dictated. In spite of this, Helen soon mastered French and read the novel "the forced doctor" twice. During her time in New York, Helen got to know many friends of the literary world. Mark Twain read her wonderful short stories for her, and they established a sincere friendship. In her quiet home on the Merrimac river, Dr. Holmes read the poems of rouse bean, and when she read the last two pages, holmes placed a statue of a slave in her hand. "She was the emancipator of your mind," holmes told Helen. The doctor was referring to miss Anne. Helens heart was filled with excitement, the worlds beautiful thoughts, deep love, and solid pursuit, all like spring seeds deeply implanted in the heart. Helen confidently said, "Im going to college someday! Im going to harvard!" The day finally came. Harvard Universitys Radcliffe womens college has arranged her entrance exams in a special way. She used her hand to touch the raised braille, and then answered the question with a typewriter. Nine hours before and after, all subjects passed, English and German were the best grades, Helen started college with a keen heart.

In June 1904, Helen graduated from Radcliffe with honors. Two years later, she was appointed chairman of the Massachusetts blind committee and began a social work for the blind. She received the visiting blind people every day, and returned the same letters. Later on, she toured the country, traveling for the promotion of blind blind education plans and treatment plans. By 1921, the American foundation for the blind was finally founded. Helen, one of the groups leaders, has been working hard to strengthen the foundations work. In her busy work, she never put down her pen and finished 14 books successively. "The story of my life", "the song of the stone wall" "out of the dark," "optimism" and so on, all have a worldwide impact. Helens last work was the teacher, she has to collect the book notes and letters of 20 years, and all this and three-quarters of the manuscripts were burned in a fire, burn and braille library, along with their exquisite craft gifts from all over the world. If another person might be disheartened, but Helen felt more determined to finish it, and she sat quietly before the typewriter, and began to trudge again and again. Ten years later, Helen finished her book. She was relieved that the book was a gift to her teacher, and the teacher Anne was very proud of it.

On November 15, 1956, erect perkins the blind school in the United States on a plaque at the entrance of the curtain, with trembling hands, unveiled by Helen, it read: Helen Keller and Anne Su Liwen · wheat west. This is not a common plaque, but for those who have written a prominent chapter in the history of human civilization. Indeed, Helen has dedicated her life to the welfare of the blind and the cause of the education, which has earned the respect of people all over the world, and the United Nations has launched the "Helen Keller" world campaign. On June 1, 1968, Helen Keller, a deaf and blind scholar, writer, educator, who wrote the history of human civilization, passed away in flowers. However, her indomitable fighting spirit, her legendary life, but always in the history, just as the famous writer Mark Twain said: "in the 19th century appeared two great figures, one is napoleon, one is Helen Keller."

There is not a (no) thrifty man but becomes a rich man sooner or later. Why? Because he will not spend such money as is unnecessary. Little by little his money will accumulate. Ten to one, he is bound to make a fortune.

I do not like such men as spend their money in a wrong way. They do not know extravagance is a bad thing. It can only make them happy for the time being. In short, thrift makes poor men rich and extravagance makes rich men poor.

Needless to say, nothing but perseverance can lead a man to the way of success. In other words, a persevering man never does his work without succeeding in it. This is indeed unchangeable truth.

Our National Father, Dr.  , is the most ideal example. He was devoted to the revolution about forty years. He met with many failures, but he was anything but discouraged. As a result, he won. The Republic of China was born.

WHERE THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS A WAY 有志者事竟成

The secret of success (The key to success) is not so much money as a strong will. A great man is one who has a strong will and an indomitable spirit. In other words, if a man does not have a strong will to win (get) the final victory, he will never succeed in his life. He is no more than a failure.

It is quite obvious that there is no difficult thing (nothing difficult) in the world. if you make up your mind to do it, you will certainly accomplish your end. That stands to reason.

成功的要诀不是金钱而是一个坚强的意志(用not so mush... as)。 他只不过是(用no more than)一个失败者。

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.

The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.

The little girl stated that a whale swallowed Jonah.

Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.

The little girl said,“When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah.”

The teacher asked,“What if Jonah went to hell?”

The little girl replied,“Then you ask him.”
