I lost the power to keep an eye on the possible vacancies of the English courses ever since I got a high fever. I began to regret declining Aeros offer. 他总是顶着一头微黄的乱蓬蓬的头发，已经是油腻得发亮。他的脸就像是用一把刻刀雕刻过的木雕一样，有着清晰锐利的轮廓，几乎是木雕一样的肤色。他身上的衣服都是补丁，满是污渍的一条裤腿已经缺了一小半，狼狈的挂着几根布条，穿着一双破旧的解放鞋。身边总是放着一个脏脏的略显肥大的麻袋。

他总是出现在我家对面的马路边上，他每天都蜷缩在路旁的花池边。他是乞丐，但他不讨饭，他是靠捡垃圾为生的。天快亮的时候，他就在街道的附近游走，捡捡附近大排档的人在昨晚吃剩的东西来充饥，然后就回到花池边睡觉。有时是在眼神有些呆滞，安静地看着每个过路的人，然后喃喃自语甚至情绪激动。更多的是后者。

我从那些总爱闲聊的妇女口中知道了一些关于他的事情。听说他原来是当官的，日子好得让人眼红。后来因为贪污被人揭发了，就被人从单位里赶了出来。他老婆知道这件事之后，没多久就跟别人跑了，就剩下他一个。由于没有脸再去从事其他工作，又没有收入，于是日子越过越穷，越过越落魄。就变成现在这样了。起初我是有点讨厌他的品行的，但是后来看到一群买菜回来的妇女在对着他指指点点——“哎哟，真是作孽啊!”“他真是活该的!”“他是不是这里有问题啊!”说完还特地指了指太阳穴。听到类似这样的讨论，我有点同情他。同时我也悟出了一个道理——如果这个世界上有什么比网络和病毒流传的更快，那一定是她们的嘴。

最后见他是在一个冬天。他穿得很单薄，还是那么安静的蜷缩在花池旁。突然他起身，快步的走向了大排档的后门。原来他只是想要那些剩饭剩菜。但是那个肥头大耳的老板大声的呵斥他，要赶他走。他没有走，还是眼神死死的盯着那些饭菜。老板就开始骂他，拿扫把赶他。看到这里，我妈就用力的把我拽上楼，然后我就听到有男人的吼声，女人的尖叫声和重物砸向地面的声音。

第二天，我只看到地面上有一摊血迹。从此就再也没见过那个乞丐了。
