记叙文是记人叙事的文章，它主要是用于说明事件的时间、背景、起因、过程及结果，即我们通常所说的五个“ W ”( what, who, when, where, why )和一个“ H ”( how )。记叙文的重点在于“述说”和“描写”，因此一篇好的记叙文要叙述条理清楚，描写生动形象。下面就谈谈英语记叙文的特点和写好记叙文的基本要领。

一、记叙文的特点

1. 叙述的人称

英语的记叙文一般是以第一或第三人称的角度来叙述的。用第一称表示的是由叙述者亲眼所见、亲耳所闻的经历。它的优点在于能把故事的情节通过“我”来传达给读者，使人读后感到真实可信，如身临其境。如：

2. 动词的时态

在记叙文中，记和叙都离不开动词。所以动词出现率最高，且富于变化。记叙文中用得最多的是动词的过去的，这是英语记叙文区别于汉语记叙文的关键之处。英语写作的优美之处就在于这些动词时态的变化，正是这一点才使得所记、所叙有鲜活的动态感、鲜明的层次感和立体感。

3. 叙述的顺序

记叙一件事要有一定的顺序。无论是顺叙、倒叙、插叙还是补叙，都要让读者能弄清事情的来龙去脉。顺叙最容易操作，较容易给读者提供有关事情的空间和时间线索。但这种方法也容易使文章显得平铺直叙，读起来平淡乏味。倒叙、插叙、补叙等叙述方法能有效地提高文章的结构效果，让所叙之事跌宕起伏，使读者在阅读时思维产生较大的跳跃，从而为文章所吸引，深入其中。但这些方法如果使用不当，则容易弄巧成拙，使文章结构散乱，头绪不清，让读者不知所云。

4. 叙述的过渡

过渡在上下文中起着承上启下、融会贯通的作用。过渡往往用在地点转移或时间、事件转换以及由概括说明到具体叙述时。如：

My Spring Festival is special. My uncle and my aunt came back from Shanghai. My family were very happy to keep the Spring Festival with them. And it was the most exciting festival of all the festivals.

事后，我就感到，我当时真是太急了，连水壶都忘了带回。

那是一个寂静的夜晚，爸爸妈妈出去散步了，我独自在家。本以为这回可以“山中无老虎，猴子称大王”了，可是，正当我跷着二郎腿又吃又喝地看着卡通片的时候，突然停电了。眼前所有的东西一下子都消失了，墨一样的黑色把我裹得紧紧的，我的脑袋一下子嗡地变大了。以前我从来没有一个人独自在家的时候，这回可倒好，不但爸爸妈妈不在身边，连电灯、电视也不在身边了。平时有电、有灯的时候从来没觉出来多什么，但突然这些东西没了，却立马觉得少了很多很多。

我想起来，在抽屉最底层好像有一根蜡烛头儿。因为平时不停电，所以根本没人理会它，不知道它现在还在不在。我摸索着站起身，一边哼着刚学会的几句流行歌曲给自己壮壮胆，一边伸开胳膊探着路去找那个小小的蜡烛头儿。

谢天谢地，它还真在！在抽屉的最角落里平躺着，几乎所有的东西都压在它的身上。

她叫郑肖巧，有一头黑色的卷发。我曾经开玩笑说：“你上辈子恐怕是外国人吧。”她笑而不语。她有着一对弯弯的眉毛，眉毛下有一双炯炯有神的眼睛，一张小嘴巴说起话来滔滔不绝。她的皮肤光滑红润，她的手指很纤细，很小巧，和她的名字差不多。

她有时会很神经，和我一样。若是哪一天，我们俩一起神经起来，那这世界可就精彩多了。她有时会犯二，傻不拉几的，不过很可爱。我就是喜欢她有时一会儿神经一会儿犯二的性格。

她的脾气很好，和我截然不同。但在她面前，我很难发脾气，害怕哪天我和她发脾气过后，两个人就分道扬镳了。

每当我情绪低落的时候，她总会第一时间过来安慰我。当然，在她心情不好时，我也会和她一样难过。

上个星期，我看她好像在掉金豆豆。后来才得知，是一个男生犯浑，把她惹哭了。我走过去安慰她，她的情绪才慢慢好起来。我心里暗忖，晚上做梦时，一定要在梦里把这男生灭了，看他还敢不敢再欺负女生!
