Elizabeth (Lizzy) Bennet is the core of the family. Elizabeth is the second of Mr. and Mrs. Bennets five daughters, and is an intelligent, bold, attractive twenty-year-old when the story begins. In addition to being her fathers favourite, Elizabeth is characterized as a sensible, yet stubborn, woman. Misled by his cold outward behaviour, Elizabeth originally holds Mr. Darcy in contempt. However, she finds that Mr. Darcy improves on acquaintance, more so than she would expect.

Fitzwilliam Darcy (commonly known as Mr. Darcy) is the central male character and Elizabeths second love interest in the novel. He is an intelligent, wealthy, extremely handsome and reserved 28-year-old man, who often appears haughty or proud to strangers but possesses an honest and kind nature underneath. Initially, he considers Elizabeth his social inferior, unworthy of his attention, but he finds that, despite his inclinations, he cannot deny his feelings for Elizabeth. His initial proposal of marriage is rejected because of his pride and Elizabeths prejudice against him; however, at the end of the novel, after their relationship has blossomed, he is happily engaged to a loving Elizabeth.

暑假里，我读了一本好书---《汤姆叔叔的小屋》，翻开扉页，一幅幅插图映入我的眼帘，一个皮肤黝黑的奴仆，他有着浓密的卷发，厚厚的嘴唇，虽然他受到了折磨，但他眼中的坚毅之光、善良之光、思乡之光感动了我，使我爱上了这本书。

这本书讲了一位奴仆汤姆被他贫穷的主人卖给了残忍的海利先生，经过几番周折，他落到了善良的奥古斯丁家，在那里汤姆受到了优待，但好景不长，主人就去世了，暴躁的女主人把他卖给了心狠手辣的奴隶主雷格里，在那里他每天都受到挨打，流着血的伤口惨不忍睹，但他却用坚强的力量克服疼痛，用善良之心为主人的暴行祈祷，但最终，汤姆因不愿做监工而被打死了。读到这里，我的眼眶里盈满了泪水，我不仅为汤姆的死感到伤心，而且为雷格里的暴行感到愤恨。

商场是残酷的，唯一的最有力的法则便是“弱肉强食，适者生存”所以，商场中的善良与仁慈则等于自杀

爱情是美好的，但是只有一方深爱着另一方。可事实上被爱的一方根本不爱他，但害怕拒绝后别人会陷入极大的痛苦，所以对别人的追求不完全接受，又不拒绝，到最后没有办法拒绝了，这使得别人看到了希望，最后又陷入了绝望。所以爱情中的善良等于残忍。

如果一个女孩过于善良和好，会不会被很多男生喜欢？答案是不会。因为这种“善良”和“好”往往等于顺从、妥协、退让、息事宁人。正如文章《姑娘，你坏一点吧》中所说：“好女孩的代价也是惊人的。它会让女孩压抑真实的自我，阉割独立与勇敢的个性，湮灭其可贵的创造力。”大家曾评论《欢乐颂》里的曲妖精说：“社会我曲姐，人美路子野。实在太酷了。”为什么酷？因为她自由。

读过美国近代史后，我认识了一位了不起的美国总统，他就是废除奴隶制维护美国统一的一代伟人——林肯。但是大多数人肯定不知道，在林肯主张废除奴隶制的时候，还有另一股力量也在掀起美国废奴运动的高潮，它来自斯托夫人的一部书，一部反映黑奴制度的巨著——《汤姆叔叔的小屋》。这本书犹如平地一声霹雳，震撼了美国社会。

书中为人正直、心地善良、笃信宗教的汤姆叔叔;有勇有谋、聪明好学的混血奴隶乔治;唯利是图、冷酷无情的奴隶贩子黑利;人性泯灭、天良丧尽的雷格里;有正义感、但随波逐流的圣克莱尔等栩栩如生的人物给我留下了深刻的印象。

当全文读完，我的心也为之阵阵震颤，泪水已镶嵌在了眼角，说真的，这种滋味和上次读《悲惨世界》时候的感觉是如此相似，是深深烙刻于心底的疼痛，不好受。虽说结尾是快乐美好的，但我对主人公汤姆的去世感到无比伤感。的确，黑奴的遭遇是多么悲惨。文中描述了像烈格雷这种残暴凶恶的奴隶主，经常殴打黑奴，强迫黑奴做不愿做的事情。也有运气好的，可能会遇到像圣克莱尔和小乔治这样宽容博爱的主人，但他们的身份仍然只是奴隶。可悲啊!拥有白色皮肤的人为何心却狠得像黑色的恶魔?他们只知道自己是个人，需要他人的尊重，但却把黑人当作了一件任人买卖欺凌的商品。为什么不过是肤色不一样，他们的命运就要有如此的天壤之别呢?黑人与白人到底存在什么样的差距，为何黑人就要成为白人的奴隶呢?从书中主人公汤姆——一个可敬的黑人身上，我丝毫没有看出白人与黑人的差距，反而看出了汤姆的吃苦耐劳，精明能干，可以说他比任何一个白人都能干。

同样是人，为什么白人就可以随意凌驾于黑人之上，白人有什么理由剥夺黑人的自由?总之我没有找到能证明这一切的理由。相反我又一次从汤姆大叔身上看到了一些白人所没有的宽容、博爱的思想和一颗充满爱的心。可见黑人与白人之间是平等的，没有低下和高尚之分。就像法布尔曾在他的《昆虫记》里写到他对生命的看法，“万物都是平等的，不管它是多么微小，至少它是生命。”

不知不觉又想起了林肯总统，那个曾经的鞋匠的儿子，当他当选美国总统的时候，那些自以为上流社会所谓优越的的人对他不屑一顾，鄙视他是一个鞋匠的儿子。并且在他当上总统时，有人扔鞋子侮辱他，认为他不配，但林肯宽容大度，最终以自己的宽容与智慧赢得了大家的信任和爱戴。不仅这样，林肯还解放了黑奴，揭露和控诉了蓄奴制的罪恶，而且为美国的发展做出了卓越的贡献。由此可见，出身卑微的不一定低下，出身高贵不一定就高尚，从这儿就反映出人与人之间是平等的，这是亘古不变的真理。

无论你是什么肤色的人，无论你是什么出身，无论你是什么种族，都是一样的，在这大千世界中没有高贵和低下，没有最好和最差，因为人人都是平等的。

The first time I read a book written by an Afghan atuhor named Khaled Hosseini ,it told a story between two boys.A rich boy Amir at the age of 12 and his servant Hasan were brotherly loved.Nevertheless,afer a kite game,something miserable happened.Amir feel grievous and guilty for his cowardice and he cannot confront Hansan,using something contempitable to let Hansan and his father leave his home.Not long,Afghanistan broke ou a war,Amir and his father had to fled to America.After his grown- up,he cannot forgave what he had done to Hansan before.And to atone for himself,he returned his hometown,which was destoryed badly by the war……

Maybe all of us more or less had done something as Amir did before,we are too young to understand others feelings when we broke their heart into pieces.We may feel guilty and miserable for waht we have done.But there is no use to cry over spilt milk.What we really should do is to face the reality and like Amir,to atone for ourselves.

那是一个风和日丽的下午，我躺在家里那舒适的床上，怀里抱着《汤姆叔叔的小木屋》，津津有味地读着。看到精彩的部分，我不禁佩服起作者，怎么能有这样妙笔生花的手法！

这本书主要写了汤姆叔叔从谢尔比先生家到圣克莱家做仆人的经历，尽管经过一次又一次的人生转变，可汤姆叔叔始终是那样的诚实，那样的忠诚。抒发了作者心里的敬佩以及对“黑奴制”愤愤不平的心情，也让我意识到了平等的重要意义，加深了我对“和平”的理解。

这本书给我印象最深的就是汤姆叔叔那诚实的力量，让我想起了我的好朋友小芳的诚实。有一次，小芳犯了错误，虽然与我无关，但我不知道怎么，心里很害怕她把事情推到我的身上。可是没有想到，她自己却承认了错误，这件事深深地打动了我，我当时心里就觉得一股股的暖流在涌动。

诚实的力量真的可以感天动地，就像那句名言一样：精诚所至，金石为开！让我们都做一个有着优秀品质的诚实的人吧！

---Book Review: “Camille”

I read the Chinese version of “Camille” a few years ago. At that time I was deeply moved by the main character Marguerite Gautier. “Camille” or “The Lady of the Camellias” by Alexandre Dumas, fils, is the story of Marguerite Gautier, a young courtesan, or kept woman, in Paris in the mid 1800s, and how she falls in love with a young man, Armand Duval, and then tries to escape from her questionable past. Unfortunately, it comes back to haunt her and she ends up returning to that life and dies painfully and alone, but with the knowledge that she was a noble woman at heart. When I first began to read the book, I did not care for Marguerite or her attitude or lifestyle, but as I got further into the narrative, I realized that her saucy attitude was a front to cover the lonely woman that she really was. She felt used, abused and unloved, until the gentle Armand Duval came into her life and showed her that he loved her as a person and not for what she could do for him. It must have taken great courage for Marguerite to leave the life she had lived for so long, knowing all along that it was probably too good to be true and would not last indefinitely. And it also showed that Marguerite really loved Armand Duval for she could even change herself for him.

However, happiness didn’t last for long. When M. Duval, Armands father, came to her, pleading for her to leave Armand to save both Armands reputation and that of his younger innocent sister, Marguerite saw a way to become pure of heart, if not in body. She felt that it was her duty, because she loved Armand so much, to do this even though it meant giving up her own happiness and hurting Armand temporarily. She reluctantly returned to her former life, knowing that some day Armand would forgive her. Sadly, she died in debt and basically alone, except for her one female friend, Julie Duprat, who helped her during her illness. She had her journal sent to Armand after her death, explaining why she had made the choices she had. I think Dumass last few lines about Marguerite being the exception, not the rule were quite true, and I also agreed with his view that while her lifestyle could not be condoned, we as a society assume that all of these type of women are cold and heartless, while this may not always be the case. A person can make the wrong choices in life when they are young, and try to redeem themselves, but sometimes past situations prevent them from changing their lives, even though they desperately wish to do so. This applies to both men and women in many different types of circumstances: involvement in crime; drug or alcohol abuse; gambling; prostitution; financial problems; poor marriage choices; etc. And this is the fact, which exists in the whole society.

As far as the other characters in the book, I think Marguerite was right in saying that no one truly cared about her, but only wanted something from her, the only exceptions being Armand and Julie Duprat. Of course, the Comte de G. and Comte de N. wanted her body and appearance. The Duke needed to “wake up and smell the coffee” and realize that she could never replace his dead daughter. If he truly cared, he could have helped her leave her lifestyle without “keeping” her himself. And lastly, Prudence was a blood-sucking leech who used Marguerite almost worse than the men. I also think she was jealous of the fact that Marguerite had so much more courage than herself and someone truly loved her.

I read a very interesting book, the name of the book is called "Tom Sawyer, I like the book in the little hero and some story happened on him.

汤姆是一个顽皮、天真并且十分活泼的孩子，但在大人的眼里他同时也是一个不折不扣的坏孩子，他调皮、喜欢恶作剧、逃学这些自然是家常便饭，不仅这样，他捣蛋的方法还一次比一次厉害，让人琢磨不透，防不胜防。他虽然是一个很坏很坏的孩子，但也会做出让人捧腹大笑的事情：被罚粉刷墙壁，竟能想出好办法让小伙伴替他完成，并让小伙伴们拿各种各样的食物和玩具来跟他换一次刷墙的机会。这样一来，汤姆不光悠闲自在，而且一下子就收获了很多礼物。

当他再往奴隶市场的船上时，遇见了一对父女，但这位女孩忽然一个不小心掉进了水里，这时汤姆叔叔便奋不顾身的跳进水里抢救她，这一幕还真令人动魄心惊，而这位绅士(父)看到这一幕，便将他买回家作管家，从此汤姆叔叔便成为他们的一分子了。一段时间过后，汤姆叔叔和小主人的感情浓的像父女一样，他们常一起谈心事，而心事的内容不仅十分的令人感动，而且有许多的涵义。而天意弄人、好景不常，可怜的小女孩因天生体质差而去世了，而主人也因为劝架不成而意外身亡，之后汤姆叔叔便被夫人卖到牧场去做粗活，过著「人间地狱」的生活，让人看了都十分替他可怜，不过当他因为别人而惹上主人，被每天毒打时，他的心中却一点怨恨都没有，一直到死时，还替牧场主人祈祷，希望能减轻他的罪孽。

汤姆叔叔虽然是黑人，读过的书不多，但他做人的道理懂得却比一些自视甚高的白人多，他悲天悯人的心肠可说是佛祖在世，让我佩服;他义薄云天的义气宛如关公，值得我学习;而他舍己为人的精神就如同格蕾莎修女，感动万人;而他那「鞠躬尽瘁」的忠心，好比诸葛亮，是做人做事应有的心。即便是在多麼恶劣的生活环境下也要

永保一颗善良正直的心不向命运低头是我看完本书后得到最大的启示。
