1999年，雅芳面遭遇了一场危机：股票一落千丈！到了11月，公司第四季度的销售和盈利急剧下滑，股票猛跌了50%！之后不久，首席执行官查尔斯·佩林引咎辞职了，雅芳陷入了生死攸关的时刻，董事会不得不物色另一个CEO人选。他们想起了钟彬娴。
