The polluted air does great harm to peoples health. The polluted water causes diseases and death. Whats more, vegetation has been greatly reduced with the rapid growth of modern cities.

To protect the environment,governments of many countries have done a lot. Legislative steps have been introduced to control air pollution, to protect the forest and sea resources and to stop any environmental pollution. Therefore, government are playing the most important role in the environmental protection today.

In my opinion , to protect environment, the goernment must take even more concrete measures. First, it should let people fully realize the importance of environmental protection through education.Second, much more efforts should be made to put the population planning policy into practice, because more people mean more pollution.Finally, those who destroy the environment intentionalli should be severely punished. We should let them know that destroying environment means destroying mankind themselves.

寒假里，爸爸、妈妈带着我来到了杭州动物园。那里我去过好多次，但这次并不像以前一样兴奋。以前看到奔跑的骏马，上窜下跳的猴子，以为它们过得很快活。那天，我却看到它们伤心和无奈的样子。在这酷暑里，马儿不知要为多少游客服务，它们疲惫地耷拉着脑袋。上窜下跳的猴子被训练员鞭打，很可怜的样子!

走着走着，我又看到很多小动物被关在笼子里，像小鸟、小兔、小狗都关在很小，很湿的地方，小鸟“叽叽喳喳”地叫着，好像在说：“我又不是犯人，干嘛把我关起来，生活在比监狱还差的地方，真是太不公平了!”小兔“吱吱”地叫，好像在说：“救救我，我不想生活在这样的地方!”小狗“汪汪”地叫，好像在说：“你们还说动物是人类的朋友，对待朋友是这样子的吗?”

我们来到了黑熊住的地方，很多游客都不停往里面扔东西，根本没有注意旁边的警告牌“勿扔食品!”管理员告诉他们不要这么做，他们不听劝告，继续往里扔东西。在报纸上曾经报告过一个大学生为了做实验竟然把硫酸泼在一只黑熊身上，使它痛苦地倒下了，身受重伤。为什么那位大哥哥会这样残忍?难道他没有想过这样黑熊会很痛苦吗?

Wind blows up bags higher and higher in the sky. It is a scary thought that some day the earth will turn into a huge garbage land. Wastes, if not treated properly, will make our life a living nightmare.

The environmental issue is getting worse almost every day in cities with very large population. As is often the case, city development outpaces environmental protection. People consume great amount of natural resources and produce wastes. To effectively address such problems, cities need to spend big money. In addition, they need to call to the attention of people to become more environmentally responsible.

Many people are becoming less responsible and easily influenced by bad behaviors. “Why should I care while others shouldn’t?” Such idea makes some people only concern with places where they live and work. Furthermore, people sometimes even purposely litter for revenge to other people.

Although media promotes environmental awareness, good people are often snubbed as posers who try to set up a superior image in real life. Consequently, they are intimated of receiving negative comments for doing the right thing. Wrong as it is, such phenomenon is widespread especially among youngsters and people with low income and little education.

However, our society is waging a campaign against environmental pollution. People learn the harms of un-degradable lunch boxes and other polluting wastes. Laws in many countries prohibit or limit excessive use of polluting bags. Companies are continually replacing the old materials with more environmental friendly and recyclable kinds. Scientists have developed more effective technologies in waste treatment. As time goes by, more and more people put high priority on the protection of environment for a healthier life.

To sum up, people produce huge amount of garbage and the environment is seriously polluted because of lack of financial resources, sense of responsibility, or efforts. But the world will not turn into a “throw away” society if people put in sufficient efforts to protect our environment.

我在电视看见韩国的饭店用的筷子都是金属做的，可以反复用。可是在我们国家大大小小的饭店全是用的一次性筷子，据我了解一棵生长五十年的桦树只够十家饭店一天用的筷子的数量，中国有多少家饭店?一天要用多少棵桦树啊!!

对于我们校学生来讲要保护环境，首先要从不要乱人垃圾果皮纸屑，见到有人乱扔垃圾要给他讲道理。大人们也不要砍伐树木，这样会污染环境。要从节约每一滴水、每一度电做起、从小树立保护环境的意识，做到保护环境，人人有责。使我们的家园更美好!

Every year on October 4th is the World Animal Day. It is proposed by the Italian monk St Francis in 12th century. He lives in the forests of Assisi Island for the long time, building a good relationship with the animals. So he asks people to express thanks to the animals on October 4th. He sets a good example for our human beings about how to deal with the relationship with animals. In order to memorize him and what he does, we make October, 4th to be World Animal Day. Nowadays, people from all over the world will hold various activities to celebrate on that day. 物竞天择，适者生存。这个生物法则是不可能改变的，而人类却利用这个法则，无情地残杀动物们，以达成目的——用动物身上的肉、皮毛来卖钱。

生态平衡，缺一不可。一种生物的灭绝，可能就是一条生物链的消失。而现在因为人类的破坏，有许多物种已经灭绝或者是差一点儿就灭绝灭亡了。

就举长江江豚的例子来说吧。江豚是国家一级保护动物。可是因为有人喜欢吃，还是有人挺而走险，捉来长江江豚来卖，导致现在长江江豚的数量只有大约1000条左右了。没有买卖就没有杀害，没有吃货就没有杀戮。

在美国，曾有一个餐馆，为了吸引客人，抓了一只猛兽狗熊来吸引客人。客人多起来了，餐馆老板却不给猛兽吃的。狗熊已经饿得皮包骨头了。后来因有人举报，老板被抓走了。

电捕鱼、大网捕鸟、猎枪击射……人们为了赚钱，不择手段的追害动物们。甚至有人为了让皮色更好一点，能多赚点儿钱，甚至，在动物活着的时候，扒下它们的皮毛。太残忍了啊！

濒危动物的在劫难逃，全球保护刻不容缓，现在各个国家几乎都有了保护动物的法律。还有一些明星做公益广告，让人们不要再穿着动物皮毛们做的东西了。抵制皮草制品，从我的父母家人做起。

如果地球上没有了动物，人类会怎样？降临在动物身上的命运，终究会降临在人类的身上。为了我们的子孙后代，更为了未来和谐多元化的地球，让大家都行动起来保护它们吧！

From June1, 2008, shops and supermarkets are forbidden from offering free plastic bags to customers, according to a new law. A nation-wide campaign against plastic bags has been launched.

Nowadays, Chinese people use up to three billion plastic bags a day. While being very convenient to shoppers, plastic bags also cause serious white pollution” and waste resources.

Though the ban may cause some inconvenience to shoppers, it can help reduce the use of plastic bags when people have to pay for them. Besides, the ban, in away, can promote public awareness of environmental protection.

So I think it necessary to forbid shops and supermarkets from offering free plastic bags. When shopping, we can use cloth bags or baskets instead of plastic bags as we used to.

Today I am very glad here to share my opinionsabout the protection of environment.

With the development ofscience and technology ,different kinds of pollution has been produced andcaused global concern recently.

As we know, people have beenliving on the earth for thousands of years, human activity damaged natural environment, such as excessive abuse of natural resources ,the sewage dischargedfrom factories ,the animal slaughter ,kinds of chemical fertilizers andgreen-house effect. All that is mentioned above has a bad impact on the eco-system .Now, many animals aredying out. We are suffering from unhealthy food and water, we are faced withharmful rays and global warming. It was ourselves who had made a series oftroubles. As you can see, we are the final victim.

Above all, if we human beings cannot recognize theseserious problems and try our best to solve them soon, we would finally lose theenvironment suitable for us to live. So, it is our duty to protect theenvironment ,but what should we do to protect it?

In my opinion, the first and important thing is tounite all forces ,that is to say---gather all hearts together. Next we shouldprotect and plant more trees, which can dispose of the dust in the air. As forfamilies, it is effective to ride bicycles rather than drive cars. Don’t litteranywhere as you like. Panda is one of the scarcest animals.People in the world like it very much.There used to be many pandas in China long ago.As the balance of nature was destroyed and the weather was getting warmer and warmer,pandas became less.But at present,the number of pandas is increasing year by year.There are now so many pandas that some are being sent to other countries so that people there can enjoy them.

Nowadays,the biggest nature park for panda in China is in Sichuan.There is a research centre for nature and wild life there.Scientists hope that one day they will have enough pandas to be set free and let them live in the wild again.
