社会越是富有，往往就会变得越挑剔。许多人(包括我在内)会浪费掉因为他们而被杀死的动物的一半，我们拒绝食用它们的器官、肠子和脑子等等部位。但在西方之外的社会、尤其是亚洲，人们通常是吃这些的，而且有时还会将其视若珍品。就吃下动物所有部位的意愿而言，中国和日本要远远排在大多数西方国家的前面。

Surely, then, one can’t object to eating shark fin? Yet one can and one should. The reasons are to do with conservation and our broader ecosystem. Some species of shark have been depleted by 70 per cent and a few, such as smooth hammerhead, bull sharks and tiger sharks, by 90 per cent or more. Sharks are the ocean’s top predators. Their absence causes havoc. Off the east coast of America, sharks used to eat bottom-feeding rays. With shark numbers massively depleted, the rays have had a field day devouring scallops, clams and oysters, rapidly reducing stocks.

这么说来，想必我们不能反对吃鱼翅了?不，我们可以反对，而且也应当反对。因为这关系到环境保护以及更广泛生态系统的保护。一些种类的鲨鱼数量已减少了70%，少数几个种类的数量减少了90%，例如平双髻鲨、牛鲨和虎鲨。鲨鱼是位于海洋食物链最顶端的捕食者。若没有它们，生态系统会发生混乱。在美国东海岸附近，鲨鱼通常以在水底觅食的魟鱼为食。由于鲨鱼数量急剧减少，魟鱼就会趁机吃掉很多扇贝、蛤蜊和牡蛎，使这些物种的数量迅速减少。

His shop does not sell shark meat, and he says it could be true that the carcase is simply tossed into the sea. As well as the cruelty, there is also the incredible waste. The average shark stretches to about 10 bowls of soup.

Certainly, shark fin is traditional. As one writer points out, to ask people to stop eating it is the equivalent of suggesting Americans give up turkey for Thanksgiving. There is doubtless a case for banning other types of food, such as some types of caviar and some species of whale. But cultures are not immutable. Traditions change, especially when they are unsustainable.

Besides, sharks have less cachet now they are siphoned from the oceans on an industrial scale.

In Canada, more than a few ethnic Chinese couples have made a show of not serving shark fin at their wedding. Judy Lao recently told the Vancouver Province why she didn’t have it at her reception. “We don’t really care, our friends don’t care, and shark fin has no nutritional value anyway,” she said. “So why should we serve it?” Why indeed.

每年四月的第二周，是上海四鸟周。其实，我们不仅仅要保护鸟类，还应当保护野生动物，保护环境!

截止目前，上海分布有陆生野生动物四百八十余种：鸟类三百九十七种，兽类四十二种，两栖类十四种和爬行类三十六种。野生动物的数量正在日益减少!动物们是人类的朋友，是社会的财富，我们应当保护好它们!

动物是人类的朋友，植物是大自然的天然屏障;谈水是我们的生命之泉;而环境则是大自然赐给我们的宝贵财富!我简直不能想象没有动物、植物、淡水和环境的生活是什么样儿的!人们总是把“环保”这个词挂在嘴边，但始终没有采取行动!

昨天放学时，天气非常炎热，我下楼没看见爷爷，就借同学手机打了个电话，然后我等了几分钟，爷爷就来了。

我上了车一边与爷爷闲聊，一边看着路边的风景。

突然我看到公路上有一个毛茸茸的小东西，是老鼠吗?怎么可能，怎么可能有这么大的老鼠，我又仔细看了看，这小东西正摇着它那蓬松的大尾巴，呀!是松鼠!太神奇了，居然在大马路上看见了松鼠。它好像要过马路似的左顾右盼的，好像不怕人，我们电瓶车走过，也没有引起它的恐慌。这时一辆路虎朝它飞驰而来，我心里一阵担忧，心跳顿时加快，仿佛有什么大事情要发生似的。一瞬间这辆路虎飞快超过我们，也穿过了这只松鼠，一声清脆的咔嚓声传入我的耳膜，是那样的惊天动地，我看着松鼠在半空中翻了几圈又啪的一声掉在路上，就一动也不动，一点生息也没有了。顿时一种莫名的悲伤涌上了我的心头。为一个鲜活的生命逝去而痛心。

也许这个司机是无意的，没有看见松鼠。也许这只松鼠太相信人类了，认为大家都喜欢它，不会伤害它。可以惨剧确确实实在我眼前发生了，难道不能引起我们思考吗?

在我国青藏高原可可西里这个无人区里生活着许多藏羚羊，在修建天路时怕火车影响藏羚羊的迁徙，设计者们想出了在那里架设铁路桥，这样火车在上面过，藏羚羊从下面迁徙，人与自然在这里完美可以结合。这是保护稀有动物的极好例子啊!

在澳大利亚生活着许许多多的动物，动物在马路上走对于这里的人们不足为奇，司机们开车遇到动物还要主动给它们让路。这在当地是人们自觉的行为，体现了他们的爱心，所以在澳洲这块土地上才会有那么多的动物与人和睦相处。他们的行为难道不值得我们仿效吗?

现在的环境越来越好，动物朋友们会随时和我们邂逅。对于那些不期而遇的朋友，我们除了惊喜，当然还要注意保护它们。我们司机朋友在路上，不仅要避让行人，也要避保护它们，这也是我们社会文明社会进步的表现。

Man and His Environment

Throughout history man has changed his physical environment in order to improve his way of life. With the tools of technology he has altered many physical features of the earth. He has transformed woodlands and prairies into farms and made lakes and reserviors out of rivers for irrigation purposes or hydroelectric power. Man has also modified the face of the earth by draining marshes and cutting through mountains to build roads and railways.

However, mans changes to the physical environment have not always had beneficial results. Today, pollution of the air and water is an increasing danger to the health of the planet. Each day thousands of tons of gases come out of the exhausts of motor vehicles. Smoke from factories pollutes the air of industrialized areas and the surrounding areas of the countryside. The pollution of water is equally harmful. The whole ecological balance of the sea is being changed and industrial wastes have already made many rivers lifeless.

Now environmental protection is more pressing than ever before. As we know, massive destruction of environment has brought about negative effects and even poses a great threat to mans existence. Indifference to these problems will mean committing suicide. Therefore, effective measures should be taken and laws passed to conserve environment. Otherwise,man is certain to suffer from the serious consequences caused by this lack of care for his living surroundings.

As time goes by, man is making the earth sick. People cut down too many trees and leave rubbish everywhere. Factories let out their waste without doing anything to it . This has caused some serious problems. Such as the land is sandy, the river is dirty, the air is less clean, even the temperature of the earth is rising. What should we do to save the earth ? My suggestion is that we should plant more trees, put rubbish into dusbins and stop factories (from)pouring waste directly into the air or rivers. In all, we have only one earth, we should do our best to protect it, or we will regret.

很多人为了发财，不顾一切的杀死了许多珍稀动物，惨不忍睹。可是他们有想过么?动物也是生命，也有活着的权利，我们凭什么肆无忌惮的杀死它们呢?赚钱?它们会伤害人类?这都不是借口。那哪天要是人肉包子赚钱了，那我们就去杀人?

人们看到动物第一件想到的事情可能是它的皮毛值钱不?肉好吃不?想想吧，跑过来一只狮子，跟你面对面，看着你想：“先扒了他的皮做大衣，喝他的血解渴，吃他的肉饱肚。”简直令人毛骨悚然。动物他还不想这么多，就只吃了它饱肚。人呢?兽皮大衣，血汤，肉丝……

既然都是生命，为何不能和平共处呢?同样都是生在地球，把动物当成老乡，当成邻居，多好啊!我不袭击它，他不杀我，井水不犯河水，己所不欲勿施于人。有好东西分它一点，它有困难帮他一把，互相信任了，说不定它还帮你抓害虫呢。当然，这是在吃素的条件下才成立的。)这样一辈子下来，不但没有造孽，还积了不少德。

我是吃素的，有人说我亏了，我问为什么，他说：“有那么多美味吃不到，长不出健壮的身体。”可现在呢?我吃的东西比谁都好吃，我比任何人都健康，健壮虽说不是第一，但也不错。吃肉还会弄出那么多名堂，非典啦，禽流感啦。所以说，吃素很健康，还保住了不少动物的性命。

现在越来越多的动物濒临灭绝了，我希望大家珍惜它们，不要因为一己之利或者面子去杀害它们，好吗?

由于人类对环境的破坏，和动物栖息地的丧失等原因。地球上濒临灭绝动物的数量正在以惊人的速度增长。以前没有汽车和飞机，鸟类平均每300年灭绝一种，兽 类平均每8000年灭绝一种。但是自从有了汽车和飞机以来，地球动物灭绝的速度已经超出自然灭绝率很多倍。全世界许多的植物，哺乳动物，鸟类，爬行动物， 两栖动物，鱼等等，都在濒临灭绝的动物中，有是受到过度开发的威胁，许多野生动物因为“皮可穿、毛可用、肉可食、器官可入药”而遭灭顶之灾。大象的牙、犀 牛的角、老虎的皮、狗熊的胆、小鸟的羽毛、海龟的蛋、海豹的油、藏羚羊的绒……更多更多的是野生动物的肉，无不成为人类美食，大量捕杀地球上最大的动物： 鲸，就是为了食用鲸油和生产宠物食品;惨忍地捕鲨鱼，这种已进化4亿年之久的软骨鱼类，只是为品尝鱼翅这道所谓的美食，其他的都不要。人类正在为了满足自 己的利益(衣服时尚、炫耀自己、看动物表演取乐、满足美食之欲)，而去剥夺野生动物的生命。人类良心的失去，加重着世界的灾难。旅鸽曾有几十亿只，是随处 可见的鸟类，大群飞来时多得遮云蔽日，殖民者开发美洲100多年，就将这种鸟捕尽杀绝了。

流浪的小动物也很可怜，天气要冷了，看着小狗小猫在马路上漫无目的的乱跑，眼看跑到机动车道，让汽车压倒，受到惊吓，加上冻饿唉，可怜啊。它们就是我们自己一时兴起，而养护不好而丢失或者走失的。更有的人因为自己的兴趣，而去残害或虐待它们。他们也需要我们的关怀和爱护!

设一个动物保护节，我们小朋友可以不去领养流浪的小猫小狗，但可拿东西给它们吃，不要欺负它，不要打它，对它好一点。如果你不喜欢它们，我们也不强求你去喜欢，只是希望你不要虐待它们，好人终会有好报!

我 们一定要好好保护动物，让它们快乐的生活在这个世界上，让它们和人类一起生活。它们也是地球的一员。保护动物、维护动物的生存权利和不受虐待的权利、以及 改善和提高动物的生命条件、饲养水平，坚决反对任何虐待、残害动物的行为。这就是我想设一个动物保护节目的，请大家支持我!
