北京时间8月9日 《法制晚报》记者从央视春晚知情人士处了解到，2017鸡年春晚已经于2个月前成立办公室。目前，创意类节目、语言类节目、歌舞类节目均已启动节目征集。
据了解，为了办一届人民满意的春晚，2017年央视春晚两个月前就在央视老台“悄悄”成立了春晚办公室，谋划着这道年夜饭该怎么做。据春晚知情人士透露：“今年春晚剧组依旧形式低调，两个月前就建组了，这是近十年来春晚筹划最早的一次。”

8月9日，据《法制晚报》报道称，2017央视鸡年春晚总导演确定由央视资深总导演杨东升担任，央视将择期对外公布。对于这一消息，春晚知情人士向记者证实，并表示春晚导演组已于日前建立。
事实上，杨东升算得上央视大型节目中心最为资深的导演了。他曾担2000年国庆专题晚会《可爱的中国》总导演、《2002年春节歌舞晚会》总导演、“第五第七第八届中韩歌会”总导演、“2006 、2007大地飞歌(在线观看)中国东盟博览会暨南宁国际民歌艺术节开幕晚会”总导演、“91、98、05、06中央电视台春节联欢晚会”导演、多次担任国际国内重大节日庆典晚会总导演。
