Spring Festival in my Hometown

The Spring Festival, the most jubilant and important festival in China, is observed by most Chinese people at home and abroad. Our hometown is not an exception.

Similar with other places in china, we prepare for the festival about half a month before. With the lunar New Year approaching, the red lanterns are hung up along the main streets, making the ancient town filled with the festival atmosphere. While people clean up their houses, decorate it with traditional decorations such as Chinese knots and paper cutting. Each family pastes up Spring Festival couplets to convey their best wishes for the coming year.

On the New Year’s Eve, the whole family sits around, having a

sumptuous feast of reunion. It is worth mentioning that the food we have called maiyouzhi is unique. There is a flat piece of wheat sheet covering various vegetable and meat then rolling them up. What a delicious it is! After dinner, the family always watches the Spring Festival Gala Evening, and sets up fireworks to watch in the New Year.

On the first day of the New Year, people pay visits to the relatives and friends to send New Year’s greetings to each other and wish everything smoothly in the new year. The kids can get a lot of lucky money from the elders.

During the whole holiday, there are varied activities in the town such as lion and dragon dance, and all the citizens enjoy them very much.

People celebrate the festival until the Lantern festival. However, the wonderful memory and the joy of the Spring Festival will last long.

My College Life

How time flies! I have been in Zhejiang Gongshang University for a semester. In retrospect, my college life is busy but colorful. Different from my senior high school’s life, the whole new life I led is much freer. I arranged my time,

becoming the master of myself.

First of all, study is still the core of my life. I major in Japanese which is both interesting and challenging. We are required to be accomplished in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating. As a result I had to spend most of time in improving my abilities. Besides of the regular courses, I often attended the lecture and went to the library to eich my knowledge, and I do benefit from what I learnt.

As to the after school life, what I consider most meaningful is joining the YVP to serve society. I think it is the responsibility for every university student to make contribution to the community. Little as my effort is, I tried my best to help the people around us. Once the YVP organized us to sell secondhand books and raise the money to help the people indeed.

In addition, I quite enjoy the travels and the bees. Travels let me experience the sunshine, fresh air as well as the special taste of the local customs and practices. While the bees keep the friendship shining, and friends are as if family members. Both of them lit up my life.

All in all, the college life is a journey, and I have long way to go; all the memory is the most precious treasure, and I will value every moment.

在我国最古的文字记载中，有许多关于岁首的故事，腊月和新春，正是“秋收冬藏”以后的农闲季节，汉郑玄也说过，岁未年初“劳农以休息之”。拿我们今天的话来说，就是劳逸结合的意思。

那么春节到底是怎么来的呢?相传，在很久以前，有一个名叫万年的青年，看到当时节令很乱，想把节令定准，一天，他上山砍柴，坐在树阴下面休息，树影的移动启发了他，他设计了一个测日影计天时的日晷仪。可是，天阴雨雾，影响测量，后来，山崖上的滴泉引起他的兴趣，他又动手做了五层漏壶，天长日久，他发现每隔三百六十多天，天时的长短就会重复一遍。

那时的国君叫祖乙，天时风云的不测，使他很苦恼。一个名叫阿衡的大臣，为讨好皇上，奏称要设天台敬祭天神，祖乙认为有理，便带领百官去祭天，却无济于事，万年知道后，忍不住带着日晷仪和漏壶去见皇上，对祖乙讲清了日月运行的道理。祖乙听后龙颜大悦，感到有道理。于是把万年留下，在天坛前修建日月阁，筑起日晷台和漏壶亭，并派了十二童子服待万年，祖乙对万年说：“希望你能测准日月规律，推算出准确的晨夕时间，创建历法，为天下的黎民百姓造福。”

有一次，祖乙传旨要阿衡去了解万年测试历法的进展情况，当他登上日月坛时看见天坛边的石壁上写了一些字，阿衡看见后，知道万年的历法已研究成功，怕皇上重用他，于日派人刺杀万年，结果刺客被士卫抓住了，祖乙知道后，惩处了阿衡，亲自登上日月阁看望万年，万年指着天象，对祖乙说：“现在正是十二个月满，旧岁已完，新春复始，祈请国君定个节吧。”祖乙说：“春为岁道，就叫春节吧。”

冬去春来，年复一年，后来，万年经过长期观察，精心推算，制定了准确的太阳历，后来为了纪念万年的功绩，便将太阳日命名为“万年历”封万年为日月寿星，以后，人们在过年时挂上寿星图，据传说就是为了纪念万年的。

现在我们过年也有一些习俗，如倒贴“福”字，放爆竹，拜年等等。

春节，是我国的传统节日之一，也是最重要的节日之一。这一天，人们扶老携幼去亲戚朋友家拜年，大家欢聚一堂，一起吃着年夜饭，孩子们收到了长辈们的压岁钱，乐得欢蹦乱跳……

春节的来历十分有趣。很久很久以前，有一只名叫“年”的怪物经常在正月初一来临的前个晚上出来吞食人畜，人们只好在年三十带着一家老少上山躲避。

有一年，一位老者来到了一个村庄，请求借宿一晚。这位老者年近九十，银白的头发在春风中随风飘动，花白的胡须散落在胸前垂到了地上。当时，人们正在收拾家当，带着家人，赶着家畜往山上躲，人喊马嘶，猪嚎犬吠，杂乱的声音混成一片，没有人愿意多留一会儿，更没有人搭理他。这时，东村大娘走了过来，老人便迎了上去，说：“老大娘，求求您，让我借宿一夜吧!我能帮你们除掉‘年’。”老大娘一听，面露喜悦，说：“老人家，您一言既出，驷马难追，一定要帮我们除掉“年”啊!”就这样，老者就留在东村大娘家等候“年”。

到了晚上，皎洁的月光温和地撒在大地上，村庄里格外宁静。突然，一阵怒吼打破了宁静。“年”掀起了百丈巨浪，气势汹汹地来到了村庄，到处肆掠。此时，白发老者气淡神闲，在门口挂起了红灯笼和贴上对联，当“年”出现在他面前时，他点燃了炮竹，“年”被鲜红的颜色和“噼里啪啦”的响声吓到屁滚尿流，灰溜溜地逃回大海去了。自此，每年一到春节，每家每户就贴上红色的对联和挂上红灯笼，还在除夕晚上点燃炮竹，“年”就再也没有出来过，大家合家欢喜，高高兴兴的过大年。

春节不仅有有趣的来历，还有传统的习俗。我就挑几个说说吧。

正月二十三，祭灶神。人们在家摆上桌案，献上甘甜的米酒，粘粘的关东糖和糖瓜，还有香脆可口的糍粑和芝麻糖，家家户户都在家里挂上写有祷词“上天言好事，下界保平安”的红布条，愿灶神上天庭作报告时多说几句好话。

正月二十七，逛花墟。市场上可热闹了，大大小小的铺子摆满了兰花、菊花、鸡冠花，金桔、四季桔、代代果，花朵竞相开放，桔子你挤我碰，似乎都急不可耐地供人们挑选。商人们拿着货物大声叫卖，游人来来往往，人山人海，讨价还价的声音此起披落。拥挤的街道上，前脚挨着后脚，熙熙攘攘，吵吵闹闹，大家忙着挑选鲜花、年货，拥挤的街道顿时变成了一锅上下翻滚的热粥。

正月二十九，理家务。这是过年中最繁忙的一天，人们不管男女老少，一大清早，就忙着扫地、擦窗，剪窗花，贴春联，挂鞭炮，摆鲜花等等。

大年三十，吃团年饭。人们携家带口去亲戚朋友家拜年，一家老小高高兴兴地围在一起吃团年饭，小孩子收到了长辈们给的压岁钱，高高兴兴地玩起了放鞭炮、点烟花……

春节还有好多好多好吃的食物。

长寿面是男女老少新年里都爱吃的食物，寓意长命百岁，健健康康，寿比南山;鱼是团年饭里必不可少的，寓意年年有余(鱼)，祈愿每年都能余下有钱……

春节是我国传统节日之一，也是我们中华民族传统文化之一，每到春节我都会收到压岁钱，还会学到更多有关过年的习俗，更加了解中华民族的传统文化。

in the past, people could not often have meat, rice or other delicious food. they could only eat these during the spring festival. so every year they hoped that the spring festival would come soon. now, although people’s life is much better, and we can eat the delicious foods everyday. people still like the festival. because most people can have a long holiday, and we are free to go on a trip or visit our friends or have parties with our family. in the evenings, we can have a big meal in the restaurant or stay at home with family and watch the tv programmes.

过春节了，孩子的脸上露出了春节特有的快乐，大人们一年的劳累得到了安抚，春节是多么重要的节日啊!

走在有浓郁春节气氛的大街上，到处张灯结彩，每棵树上挂满了大大的红灯笼，市场里熙熙攘攘的人群都穿着厚厚的棉袄，嘴和鼻子前有一丝白气慢慢的上升。市场里的人手里都提着年货、拿着鲜花、捧着桔子树、抱着娃娃，场面热闹极了，脸上都挂满春节到来的喜讯。

回到家里，邻居一家三口都在搞卫生，妈妈忙着对我说：“衬现在得闲，我们也开始打扫一下里屋吧!”我会意的点了一下头，妈妈给我一对乳胶手套和毛巾，接着我们俩就热火朝天的干了起来。先抹门，后抹窗，不一会儿我和妈妈就把整个房子里屋外屋都打扫的一尘不染，这样更加能显示出新年新气象的习俗。

年三十早上我们要把去年所有的春联和福字都撕下来，贴上新买的，这叫除旧迎新。晚上，一家人围在一起吃团年饭，在外打工的人也要会到家里，团年饭里会有很多菜肴，还有饭要多煮一些，留下一写剩饭过年，这样寓意年年有余，每年都有吃不完的饭。

年三十晚就是旧年的最后一个晚上，所有人都要守岁，不能睡觉除了小孩和老人，守到新年到来。早上我们一家大小就要去走亲戚，到亲戚家里拜年，当然亲戚来会来我家所以就要安排几天去亲戚家，还要有几天要待在家里招待亲戚朋友，春节之后还有元宵节，元宵节的主角就是汤圆了，汤圆意味着团团圆圆。

春节代表了中国悠久的历史文化和丰富民风民俗，春节在中国人的心中有着不可缺少的地位。

The Chinese calendar is based on a combination of lunar and solar movements. The lunar cycle（月运周期）is about 29.5 days. In order to "catch up" with the solar calendar the Chinese an extra month once every few years (seven years out of a 19-yearcycle). This is the same as adding an extra day on leap year （闰年）. This is why, according to the solar calendar, the Chinese New Year falls on a different date each year.

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are celebrated as a family affair, a time of reunion and thanksgiving. The celebration was traditionally highlighted with a religious ceremony given in honor of Heaven and Earth（万物）, the gods of the household and the family ancestors.?

The sacrifice to the ancestors, the most vital of all the rituals（仪式）, united the living members with those who had passed away. Departed relatives are remembered with great respect because they were responsible for laying the foundations for the fortune and glory of the family.?

The presence of the ancestors is acknowledged on New Year’s Eve with a dinner arranged for them at the family banquet table. The spirits of the ancestors, together with the living, celebrate the onset of the New Year as one great community. The communal feast called "surrounding the stove" or Weilu. It symbolizes family unity and honors the past and present generations.

春节是我国传统节日之一，每年的正月初一是春节，俗称“过年”。是个辞旧迎新的日子，我最喜欢热闹了，天天盼着春节赶快到来。

要过春节肯定是要大扫除的呀，妈妈是又洗又刷，在家里忙得不亦乐乎，我自然要帮忙了。我的任务是清洁地板。我提了一桶水，准备好几块抹布。用拧干水的抹布跪在地上擦拭地板，擦完一个房间，把抹布放水桶里洗干净，然后再去擦另外一个房间的地板。最难擦的是那些桌子、床等家具的下面，我还要钻进去擦。终于我把两个房间的地板擦干净了，擦得我的手臂都酸了。擦完后，妈妈夸我：“不错!擦得真干净。”我看着家里明亮的玻璃窗，整洁的桌子，美丽的百合和水仙，哇：我家真是窗明几净、一尘不染呀!

大年三十的晚上，一家人吃团圆饭。桌上摆满了香喷喷的饭菜，鸡鸭鱼肉，应有尽有。吃完晚饭，要看春节联欢晚会了，我连忙打开电视机收看，里面有小品、舞蹈、相声。精彩极了，我们笑得前俯后仰。过了十二点钟，“当!当!”新年的钟声敲响了，大人忙着放鞭炮，响声震耳欲聋;我们小孩子忙着放花炮，把夜空打扮得五彩缤纷、绚丽多彩，美丽极了。正月初一的早上，我们穿着新衣服高高兴兴地去给长辈们拜年。回来时，我口袋里的红包都装不下啦!

春节真是一个热闹、喜气洋洋的节日，我期待着下一个春节赶快来临!
