My Summer Trip

I went to three cities to play during last summer holidays. They are Beijing, Dalian and HuHehot.

I went to Beijing more than eight times. Beijing is the capital of China. Its a big city. I am very familiar with Beijing. It takes an hour and forty minutes from Nantong to Beijing by plane. There are many tall buildings in Beijing. Its a modern city. My family visited the Great Wall, the Summer Palace, the Palace Museum, the Beihai Park, the Space Museum, etc. I went to the countryside of Beijing to go boating and fishing. There are unique and delicately structured towers on each of the four corners of the curtain wall. These afford views over both the palace and the city outside. The Forbidden City is divided into two parts. The southern section, or the Outer Court was where the emperor exercised his supreme power over the nation. The northern section, or the Inner Court was where he lived with his royal family. Until 1924 when the last emperor of China was driven from the Inner Court, fourteen emperors of the Ming dynasty and ten emperors of the Qing dynasty had reigned here. Having been the imperial palace for some five centuries, it houses numerous rare treasures and curiosities. Listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1987, the Palace Museum is now one of the most popular tourist attractions world wide.

Construction of the palace complex began in 1407, the 5th year of the Yongle reign of the third emperor of the Ming dynasty. It was completed fourteen years later in 1420. It was said that a million workers including one hundred thousand artisans were driven into the long-term hard labor. Stone needed was quarried from Fangshan, a suburb of Beijing. It was said a well was dug every fifty meters along the road in order to pour water onto the road in winter to slide huge stones on ice into the city. Huge amounts of timber and other materials were freighted from faraway provinces. Ancient Chinese people displayed their very considerable skills in building the Forbidden City. Take the grand red city wall for example. It has an 8.6 meters wide base reducing to 6.66 meters wide at the top. The angular shape of the wall totally frustrates attempts to climb it. The bricks were made from white lime and glutinous rice while the cement is made from glutinous rice and egg whites. These incredible materials make the wall extraordinarily strong.

Since yellow is the symbol of the royal family, it is the dominant color in the Forbidden City. Roofs are built with yellow glazed tiles; decorations in the palace are painted yellow; even the bricks on the ground are made yellow by a special process. However, there is one exception. Wenyuange, the royal library, has a black roof. The reason is that it was believed black represented water then and could extinguish fire.

Nowadays, the Forbidden City, or the Palace Museum is open to tourists from home and abroad. Splendid painted decoration on these royal architectural wonders, the grand and deluxe halls, with their surprisingly magnificent treasures will certainly satisfy "modern civilians".

我很兴奋，长久以来的梦想得到了实现。我收拾东西，坐上大巴。早上，我们到达了桂林，这是我第一次如此接近它，我深深吸了一口气，看着街上的一切。在暑假期间，我参观了所有的景点，很漂亮，难怪人们说“桂林山水甲天下”。

五一假期里，我去了北京，看到了面积最大的天安门广场、世界公园和颐和园。

天安门广场上人来人往，真是人山人海。有的游客在此画画，有的照相，还有的滑旱冰，也有外国人，好不热闹。远望，几个五星红旗随风飘荡。还有一根似柱子的长方形柱子，其中两面有字，有“人民英雄永垂不朽”八个大字。至于另一面嘛，太多了没看清楚。

世界公园里全部都是仿建世界有名的建筑物。如：埃菲尔铁塔、巴黎圣母院、长城……做的真是惟妙惟肖、栩栩如生。它也让我见识了异国建筑物。

颐和园我是“早闻大名”因为它被保存的比较好，只有佛香阁等在维修。据说颐和园遭到过两次野蛮破坏，我真恨英法联军和八国联军。长大后，我一定会让颐和园更完好。

Actually Autumn is not the best time since the temperature is still too high. And the real time that red leaves full fille the Fragrant Hill is in October, around the golden week on October 1st.

I hope to go on a trip to Beijing,but my mother always tells me "you cant".She thinks I am too young to go to Beijing,and I am too busy at school.This term is over,To my surprise,my mother will take me to Beijing.I am very excited!Then I have a traveing plan for this trip:firstly I will go to the tiananmen square,I will take many pictures,then I am going to the palace museum,I can see many old builds there.secondly,I am goingto the wangfujing street,we will buy many things,for example,foods,clothes and some books.then I will go home. I think I will have a great trip to Beijing.

暑假时，爸爸带我去了首都北京玩，可把我高兴坏了，出发的前一晚兴奋的都睡不着觉。

到了北京首先去了天安门。这里游览观光的人可真多，天安门可真雄伟，上面挂着_的头像。两边还各有两行字。天安门上铺满红瓦，好象是革命战士的鲜血染红的一样。天安门前有几个小桥，叫“金水桥”。这时，我看见其中一座金水桥的中间有铁，而别的地方全是汉白玉。我问爸爸这是为什么?爸爸说：“以前是可以开车过金水桥的，可是有一次一个人开车把其中一座给压断了，以后就禁止开车过桥了。”我和爸爸上了天安门，上面又是警卫又有栏杆，好像怕天安门被损坏。站在天安门城楼上，爸爸告诉我当年_就是站在这里向全国人民宣布中华人民共和国从此站起来了。我们应该好好珍惜今天的幸福生活。

最后我们去了长城，是八达岭长城。远远看去它象一条腾飞的巨龙，我有些胆怯了，我能爬上去吗?蹬长城可真难呀!两条腿快断了，可爸爸却说：“上山容易下山难呀!”我立刻反驳到：“这又不是山，是长城!”终于爬上了一大半，再看长城脚下，哇，这条巨龙终于被我踩在脚下了。下山时，因为风太大了，石梯太陡，我差一点摔了个大跟头。不过俗话说不到长城非好汉，我蹬上了长城，我很自豪。

这次北京之行让我看见了中国的许多传统文化遗产。以后有机会我还要去别的地方看一看。

看了这个题目不要以为，我把北京都游玩了啊!我只游两个景点:一个景点是太平洋海底世界，另一个是颐和园。

在漫长的公车上的等待中――终于听见导游说:“大家下车10:30集合”我们进入了海底世界里，我们先向鱼区出发，在那里我们看见了一种长达3米的大鱼，然后我们见到了一种吃奶鱼。最后我们去了水母、企鹅。不过最有趣的还是水下隧道，在隧道里我们看见了鲨鱼、仙人鱼....还有许多我们叫不上来的鱼。

然后我们有坐公车去了颐和园。到那我觉得颐和园应该名叫宜和园，义为风景宜人的园子，在颐和园中有2件事一定要拿出来晒一晒，一件是在草坪中一个劲的不下来，一件是两人因为一件小事打起来了，说明我国素质还有待提高。当个中国人不容易。
