一开始我看到这本书的书名还以为这本书讲的是外婆给主人公小女孩爱莎的道歉信呢!结果没想到，这本书讲的其实是外婆给公寓里所有的邻居的道歉信。那些邻居和外婆之间有着很不一般的故事，外婆给爱莎讲的童话故事其实也都是真实的事情，慢慢地，爱莎也明白了外婆原来和她说过的一些话到底是什么意思。虽然校长说爱莎很不合群，但是其实她很特别，不，应该说是非常特别!她是一个非常特别的女孩，就像外婆说的与众不同。
