在浙江的春节中，活动丰富多彩，带有浓郁的民族特色。在农历腊月二十三日，传说这日是“灶王爷上天”之日，因此家家要祭灶神。人们认为灶王爷上天在玉皇大帝面前美言几句，便会给家里带来幸福，可保佑来年一家平安。因此，每年腊月二十三，每家每户都要祭祀灶神，请求他上天后多说好话、吉利话。民间传说，灶王爷上天专门告人间善恶，一旦那家被告有恶行，大罪要减寿三百天，小罪要减寿一百天。

农历腊月二十四扫尘就是年终大扫除，北方称“扫房”，南方叫“掸尘”。在春节前扫尘，是我们国家人民素有的传统习惯。每逢春节来临，每家每户都要打扫环境，清洗各种器具，拆洗被褥窗帘。其用意是要把一切“穷运”、“晦气” 统统扫出门。

根据我家人的介绍，元宵节也是属于我们新春佳节的一部分。元宵节大多数是在正月十五，但我们三元里村真正的元宵节是在正月十八。在这一天里，一同参加抗英斗争的103乡的兄弟村如田心村、猎德村等都会搬来大烧猪庆祝。当天上午，三元里村的村民们从三元里古庙拿出“三星令旗”迎接兄弟村的来客，下午39支醒狮队轮流表演，祈求在新的一年里“国泰民安，风调雨顺”。

在年三十天亮时，村民们都会到所属的祠堂拜祖先，各地舞狮队在祠堂里一展峥嵘。有的舞狮队，如敦叙堂等会在三元里抗英大街上表演高空采青：有两只一红一黄的狮子，红的是公，黄的是母，工作人员先在门楣上吊了两个橘子，一棵小白菜和一个红包。

两只狮子先是互看对方一眼，突然红狮子抢先一步，猛地站立，一刹那就把菜连同红包吃入口中，再一下子蹲在地上，变成一只坐地狮子，半分钟后又继续大摇大摆地离开了。

到了21世纪，这一个科技发达的社会，许多人都会认为这一种习俗将会消失，但根据历史的考现，这种在年三十舞狮的习俗，已是代代相传至今天，每到这个节日，村民们都不忘这个习俗，因为狮子是百兽之王，它的形象是雄伟的、俊武的，给人以威严、勇猛之感，人们将它当作勇敢和力量的象征，认为它能驱邪镇妖，保佑人们平安，期望生活吉祥如意、事事平安，所以这个习俗已成了几百年来的“保留节目”。
