由于平时劳碌，年节期间人们一般起得较晚。若过早登门拜年，往往让主人措手不及。做客逗留时间一般以半小时至40分钟为宜，这样，既不失礼貌，又不影响主人接待其他客人。拜年时，若进门问声“新年好”，旋即匆匆离去，也会给人以“缺少诚意”的感觉。
