My new friend Jack is a fashion follower who often wears strange clothes and long hair. But my mother drove him away from our flat at the first sight yesterday. She thought he was a bad person, although she didnt know him at all.

However, mom totally changed her mind this morning. When we were walking down the street near our home, we witnessed an accident. A boy was hit by a car when he was walking across the road with headphones. Many people saw it, but at first no one knew how to help. Then someone rushed forwards and covered the boy with his coat to keep warm. He looked after him well until the ambulance came. It was Jack! His calmness and seasoned first aid skills moved mom. She went and apolpgized to Jack for her former attitute, and told him that he was always welcome to our home.

That gives me a lesson. The appearance may reflect ones interest, but it isnt the symbol of ones quality. We should never judge a book with its cover.

They think some shows confuse the lines between entertainment and life.The producers know their audiences are young, so they should realize that teens watching "reality" shows might not be ableto tell the difference between fantasy and fiction.

Opposing voices have also come from others. They think that they use the media--magazines, television and movies--to connect to one another and to the world, so naturally,theyre influenced by the images the media present. For example, a boy would be lying if he said he didnt want to be like Brad Pitt. Pitts flawless style, good looks and moneymaking talent seem to define whats "cool".

Nevertheless, those teens hold that the media only provide information, what they as viewers do with that knowledge is up to themselves. They have to learn to make their own choices and accept responsibility for their actions. To blame entertainment figures for certain crimes committed by teens isfunny. Its not the fault of TV. Media are an expression of our culture--not the cause. Its time we stop making the media a scapegoat for our nations problems. With the fantastic spur both in industry and economy，the past 100 years has seen how modernization and civilization has affected mankind. Recently，Copenhagen is being a focus for its Climate Change Conference. A majority of people hold the belief that climate change is the pressing threat for mankind.

However，acknowledging the great abundance of harms that the changing climate will bring，I‘d say the most immediate threat is just ourselves. I always imagine a view of life filled with fresh air and various flowers swung in gentle wind. But the reality shows this is a real fantasy. With the fantastically developing industry and the rising number of personal cars，not only the air but also the water is at risk universally. I spent this summer vacation in quite a different way. I used to run about every day in previous summer vacations, but this summer vacation I simply could not afford to do so. I would soon be in the last year of my high-school education and would after graduation be up against the college entrance examinations.
