Pollution: a Social Problem-污染 —— 一个社会问题

When we read newspapers, we often come across the word pollution. This word was not familiar to the people some decades ago. But now, it is a serious threat to us because.it means the poisoning of the air, seas, rivers and lands, which would do harm to our health.

There are many factories that bring pollution to us. We can not have fresh air in the morning. This is mainly because of the poisonous smoke coming from factories, especially chemical ones. In rivers, seas and oceans, there are industrial wastes. Some factories just throw their wastes into seas or let them flow into rivers. 爱心俱乐部 Love club

Dear Chairperson, I am a girl student from Class 3, Grade 2. Id like to be a member of the Helping Hands Club. I’m 15 years old. I’m strong and healthy. I work hard at my lessons. My favourite subjects are geography and science. I like helping others. I’m generous. I’m willing to share things with my friends. I love sports. I’m interested in playing volleyball. Last year, I often gave my seat to someone in need on the bus. I often helped my classmates solve problems. I donated my pocket money to Project Hope. I want to join the club to help more people. “When I was young, I’d listen to the radio….” I heard a beautiful song called “Yesterday Once More”. I really want the past to come back like it does in the song.

When I was a little girl, I was very happy. I could watch TV. Every day, I watched cartoons. They were very interesting. I could play many games with my friends. We often flew kites and climbed the hills. I also could cry loudly and laugh happily. Life was free and easy. I didn’t worry about my lessons and there was nothing unpleasant.

But they have all gone. Now I’m in Grade Three. I have lots of trouble. I have a lot of homework to do. I have no time to play or watch TV! I have to spend a lot of time on subjects. I must try my best to study well. I really feel very tired. I want to sleep all day, but I know that no pains, no gains.
