Zhao Hua， with the energy division of the Shenzhen Municipal Economic Development Bureau， one of the five municipal government departments involved in the curbing of white pollution in the city， said on Monday that large companies and retailers like Wal-Mart and Vanguard have responded to the decree by switching to biodegradable containers. Once man did not have to think about the protection of his environment. There were few people on the earth, and natural resources seemed to be unlimited.

Today things are different. The world has become too crowded. We are using up our natural resources,and polluting our environment with dangerous chemicals. If we continue to do this, human life on earth will not survive.

We realize that if too many fish are taken from the sea, there will soon be none left. Yet,with modern fishing methods, more and more fish are caught.We know that if too many trees are cut down, forests will disappear. Recently, a debate concerning whether we should recycle our textbooks or not has appeared in our school. As far as I am concerned, we ought to recycle textbooks as a way of protecting environment.

For one thing, recycling textbooks can not only save natural resources such as wood, but also reduce the waste of material. For another, the notes on the textbooks, made by the graduated students are of much help to those who want to reuse the books. As a current research show , recycling books has been proved an effective way in Australia, which obtains a quantity of benefits from this new-developed method.

To sum up, I consider recycling textbooks useful and helpful. I hope it can come into being in our daily life as soon as possible.
