十岁的小毛爱玩爱动，活泼可爱，可就是不爱学习。人坐在教室里，心却飞到了教室外。因此他的成绩一直不好，父母很担心，老师也很头疼，不免对他唠唠叨叨，没完没了的说教，弄得小毛很烦。

他常想自己要是一只小鸟该多好呀！可以自由自在地翱翔在天空中，不受约束，不必每天念着那些让他头疼的书，也不必听老师和父母的唠叨……他正想得入神，连老师的提问他的叫声都没听见，老师皱着眉来到小毛身边，敲着他的桌子，他才回过神来。

这只小鸟扇着翅膀，可是怎么也飞不起来。他大声的问道：“老师！我为什么飞不起来呀？”

老师说：“因为你的翅膀还没长成，你需要每天锻炼，让翅膀更丰满、更有力，才能飞起来。”

小鸟沮丧地说：“那岂不是很累？”

老师微微一笑道：“不管做什么都必须有付出，才有回报，你不想付出汗水，怎么能够学会飞翔，怎么能够翱翔于蓝天？”

小鸟听了更加沮丧了，他心想我就不锻炼，看能怎么样？于是他蹦蹦跳跳的在地上走来走去，倒也是自由自在。可是没走多远，他就听见有人再喊：“快看，地上有只鸟，快抓住它，养在鸟笼子里。”

小鸟一听鸟笼子，吓得浑身颤抖，急忙跑到老师跟前说：“老师快把我变回来吧！我可不想一辈子住在鸟笼子里。”

老师一挥教鞭，小鸟又变回了小毛。

小毛变回了之后，他的性情也跟着变了，变得爱学习，不在贪玩。

父母高兴的说：“我家小毛长大了？”

可只有小毛自己知道，他是怕了。鸟不会飞，就会被人轻而易举抓进笼子里。如果现在不好好学习，将来就注定一事无成，就像一只不会飞的鸟，那多惨呀！
