Recently our class had a discussion about whether we should help

strangers.Different students have different opinions.

Some think we should try to help strangers. Helping others is a virtue，and

helping others is helping ourselves.We may come across some trouble and need

others help some day.If everyone isnt willing to help us just because we are

strangers to them，its hard to imagine what our world will be like.

“妈妈，丁香是臭的。”我很小时，在第一次见到丁香这种植物是，脱口而出。

对丁香的印象，没什么特别。几簇弯曲的“茎”，树色的小叶，不规则的花瓣，散发着一股难闻的气味。它们就在我家门前，每年到了一定的时间便开放，然后随着一场细雨，凋落。我不爱那味道，但无奈，必须天天从它底下走过。

然后，在少年时，开始研究。丁香明明是臭的，为什么人们还要赋予它一个“香”的美名？我站在丁香树下，久久思考。却发现它没以前那样“臭不可闻”了，正巧，一阵清风吹过，树上的花瓣碰撞着，一串串的，发出噼噼啪啪的响声，一串受不了猛烈的撞击，跌了下来，落在地上。我竟捡起它，而且竟深深地闻了下来。啊，这哪里是臭，分明是苦，是苦涩的味道！这令我想起了卧病在床的妈妈身上的那股中药味，心情一下子变得很差，丢下丁香跑了，我还是不爱丁香花。

后来，出外上学，每天顶着月亮上学，披着星星回家，渐渐忘却了丁香的存在。在学校中的生活，有欢乐亦有不快。学习压力、竞争、考试、人际关系，每天如此多的琐事，谁还有空关心丁香，那苦涩的东西？

在学校这个小社会锻炼了许多年，渐渐领悟了世俗道理，发现许多事情并不是一个“苦”字能说得清的。然而，我常常自嘲，相信是这“苦”让人性变得坚韧了，并且能够领悟苦中作乐的道理了。

我校附近的前进化工厂，天天向外排放难闻的有毒气体和废水，严重影响了居民的生活，而我们更是首当其冲，身受其害。

我校多次找化工厂领导，要求妥善解决此事，可化工厂领 导却借口说生产任务繁重，技术力量薄弱以及经费开支太大， 迟迟不解决此亊。

国务院曾三令五申，注意保护环境，提倡环境美，可化工厂为什么就置之不理呢?国家化工部也曾明文规定.建设化工厂要注意环境保护，既要注意经济效益，又要注意环境效益. 化工厂的领导为什么就不采取措施保护环境呢?

我们进行生产是为了造福人民，而不是给人民带来祸害，化工厂领导根本就没有认识到这-点，只抓生产不管环境，给 我们以及附近的居民带来了危害。

There is no doubt that traffic congestion becomes a growing worry for the residents of most urban areas. Some major roads are regularly choked with traffic in rush hours. The limited transport capacity contributes largely to the vexing problem. How to solve the headache?

The existing solutions to traffic jam mainly aims at creating metro bus systems and broadening major roads. Widening the existing roads can solve traffic snarls on some level. Beside what I talk about above, I consider that perseverance is an essential personality to people who want to succeed. Everyone will meet problems, but not everyone could insist. In fact, perseverance is another attitude which belongs to optimistic. A famous saying is that difficulty is like a spring which weakens in face of a strong-willed but strengthens in face of a faint-hearted. When people run into problems, as long as they persevere, they will be closed to success.

Air pollution is one of the major problems of the modern world. A great deal of energy is needed to run the factories of modern industrial nations. Automobile, trains, planes and busses need energy, too. Nearly all of this energy is produced by burning fuels. The burning produces wastes, some of which remain in the air, causing air pollution. Scientists are finding ways to stop air pollution especially in big industrial areas and densely-populated cities. They are studying new ways of generating electricity that may be less damaging to the environment. In the meantime, many power plants are being modernized to give off less polluted material. Also, engineers try to design and locate new power plants to do minimum damage to the environment. However, it may be that we still have a long way to go before we have a "clean" world. Nearly all of the countries are trying hard to prevent and control air pollution. There indeed seems to be no end to tasks that environmentalists will be required to do. People will continually find new ways to control pollution.

Happinessmeans different things to different people. For example, some people believe that if they have lots of money, they will be happy. They believe that if they are wealthy, they will be able to do anything they want, which means happiness. On the other hand, some people believe that holding a high position in the government is happiness. In this way, you have not onlymoney, but also many other things which cant be bought by money.

However, other people believe that having lots of money is not happiness nor is holding a high position in the government. These people value their beliefs, or their intelligence, or their health. They think these can make them happy.

For me, happiness is closely tied to my studies, my work and my family. When I made great progress in my studies, when I made contributions to the society through my work, when all the members in my family live in harmony, sharing good and sad times, I was happy. Although the definition of happiness depends on each individual my "wealth" of happiness is in my studies, my work, and my family.

我们的环境污染我们的环境污染我们现在的生活比以前好得多，但环境跟以前简直就不能比。以前的空气清香并掺和着花草的芳香，河水清澈见底.........而现在呢?汽车排出的废气和工业废气相当多，河水臭气直出.........我们大家为了过上好生活，都买汽车，但车主们有没有想过这样的量使用汽车的后果。有些地方之间的距离非常近，但车主们不想跑，就直接开汽车。假如一辆汽车一天排放一千克废气，那么中国每天大约有几千万辆汽车在行驶，那么一天就要排放几千万千克的废气。这个数目仅显示一天一千克的废气排放量和仅计算中国的废气排放情况。工厂的污染更严重，水和空气都要被污染。大量的废水排入大海和河流之中，以致大量的鱼虾、水中植物死亡和大量的水资源被污染.........我们地球上的资源也在一天一天的减少。大量可回收的品中只有3﹪是被回收并再生的。许多白色垃圾造成了白色污染。我心中的家园是和以前差不多的，可是这是很难挽回的。为了我么大家共同生活了几千万年的蓝色星球?——地球的美好未来而努力吧!

二：环境污染

随着科技的不断发展，汽车的不断增多，排放的废气已经造成了严重的污染，或许，几年后的子孙后代、几百年后的大家，或许会因为大气污染而死亡。现在，地球上每一年都有百分之二十的人因为饮用了受到污染的水而死亡，如果这样延续下去，地球在几万年后岂不是变得光秃秃、像月球一样了?

据科学家的统计，每一年，每一月都有百分之二十多的树木因为废气污染而枯萎。百分之八十多对我们有益的细菌死亡，大家或许会觉得很夸张，但这是事实。其次还有受到污染的废水、废气等。人类有错吗?

我多么希望大家能珍惜我们身边的每一个事物，每一只动物，每一只有益的细菌，因为，很有可能，在几万年后的今天，他们都没有了。
