可后来却发生了一件令我意向不到的事：她在走廊玩耍时不小心被同学给推到了，她被送到了医院。看着空荡荡的座位，我的心里感觉被什么东西给堵住了一个多月后，她回来了。但她的脚却受到了重创，一段时间可能都不能动。从那以后，她和我一样。

每天下课时只待在教室里静静地看书。我开始注意她的一点一滴总会在她不方便行动时时给她拿来一本本课外书，在中午时为她打来午餐，在她看着自己脚偷偷流泪时逗她微笑渐渐的，我习惯了照顾她，她也习惯了我的关心。看着她甜甜的微笑，不知不觉中，我俩成了好朋友。

在那段日子里，我体会了朋友的感觉。虽然我现在已经离开了那里，但每想起那甜甜的微笑，总会不自觉地把头会转向同桌。

As is well known by now throughout the world Harvey Ball, a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts created the smiley face in 1963. That image went on to become the most recognizable symbol of good will and good cheer on the planet.

As the years passed Harvey Ball became concerned about the over-commercialization of his symbol, and how its original meaning and intent had become lost in the constant repetition of the marketplace. Out of that concern came his idea for World Smile Day. He thought that we, all of us, should devote one day each year to smiles and kind acts throughout that world. The smiley face knows no politics, no geography and no religion. Harvey’s idea was that for at least one day each year, neither should we. He declared that the first Friday in October each year would henceforth be World Smile Day.

The very first World Smile Day took place in Worcester, MA on October 1, 1999. What a celebration it was! State and local dignitaries gathered and read proclamations in support of the day. Another proclamation recognizing the day was read on the floor of the United States Congress and is now part of the Congressional Record, the reporter of the official proceedings of the US Congress. Thousands of Worcester school children created World Smile Day® cards that were then delivered to area hospitals and nursing homes. The event became national and even international news.

The US Postal service came to Worcester that day to unveil its new Smiley Face stamp design. And, the Postal Service issued a special cancellation just for that event. Each year since then the USPS has issued a different cancellation commemorating the day.

In his inaugural address on that very first World Smile Day Harvey Ball laid the groundwork for that World Smile Day saying that the smiley face “…just reflects what is inside every one of us – a smile is what we want to see when we look at another human being.” He said, “Sometimes we forget that. Sometimes the world seems big and filled with problems that are too hard to understand much less solve. We start to believe that we are too small to make a difference. But that’s not true. The truth is that every one of us has the ability to make a difference every day.”

Harveys hometown of Worcester, MA has been and continues to be the epicenter for World Smile Day.

My university life has been one of the most colorful parts of my life. I will never forget the day when I first stepped into the university. For children, parents stand for the authority and are strict. My mother is a very capable woman in educating. As for me, my mother is just like an elder sister. She has her own way to educate me and never uses force to regulate my behavior, which makes her distinct from other parents. Even when I was a teenage, she preferred talking to me instead of physical punishment. The most serious punishment as I could remember was that I stood at the corner of our garden, for my dog and I made the vegetables a mess. I appreciated that my mother gave me the opportunities to learn from the experiences. I got to know that through my 18th birthday present. The present was a cell phone. I used to be a faddist. My mother wanted to make me more rational on money. And I was crazy about cell phones when I was in high school. She decided to by me a very experience mobile phone as my present for my 18th birthday. Then she told me that fad was nothing but to fade away. Jane is not the most beautiful girl I have ever met. But she is the most suitable one to be my girlfriend. She is optimistic and progressive. Before meeting her, I thought I was some kind of a loser of life and I treated everything in the world with hatred. It is Jane that gets me to the right way. One day she asked me what I wanted to be in the future. I said nothing. That was the only moment I saw sadness slipped over her face. Then she gave me a smile and told me that I would be the best if I wanted to. “There is no difficulties if you put your heart into something.” She said to me. She also changed my bad temper. I was told that once people become friends they will get benefits from each other all life along. I am lucky to be bestowed with Jack, Jane and my mother. And they are the persons whom I always can count on in my life.

For most university students, dormitory life is a new experience. Most students have never lived far away from their parents before coming to university. They have always had their parents to depend on for advice and guidance, and when they become university students, their lives begin to change.

There are striking difference between home life and dormitory life. Student must begin to be responsible for their own action. I’m a 20 year-ol d boy, and the following is my story.

A month after I graduated from high school in August, 2013, I was coming home from swim_practice in the training centre of the city and was involved in a car accident. I was so seriously injured that I was in a coma for more than two months at Prince Georges Hospital.

I suffered a lot from the experience of dying eight times during my coma and I couldn’t open my mouth to talk or to communicate when I eventually came around. At that time, it seemed that walking was never going to happen again due to all the extreme injuries. Just like my body, my dreams were completely destroyed. But I was not going to let my injuries stop me from realizing my dreams．

After receiving a total of 15 operations and 36 blood transfusions, I had to make every great effort to learn to talk, eat, walk, shower, and live on my own again. When I was out of hospital,_I still had to go to outpatient therapy in Waldorf, Maryland. After I spent a few months in a wheelchair,_I took baby steps to walk on my own. It was a miracle that

I was able to walk again, but I still wanted to prove that I could not only walk, but also run.

When it came true, I wanted to get back into the pool again. After having a few lung tests, I was able to go in the pool a little bit each week. After a few months of swim training,_I began my freshman year at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and then became a proud member of the swim team.

By telling my story, I want to make a positive influence on the world. I am just trying to live dad push me round in my them and their family members. I wanted to let them know that everything was going to be okay. Somehow, things would work out for the best.
