The giant panda （Ailuropoda melanoleuca） （"black-and-white cat-foot"） is a mammal classified in the bear family, Ursidae, native to central-western and southwestern China. Stephen Jay Gould wrote an essay about this, then used the title The Pandas Thumb for a book of essays concerned with evolution and intelligent design. Until recently, scientists thought giant pandas spent most of their lives alone, with males and females meeting only during the breeding season. 第二节课一下课，广播就响了起来“请各班同学抓紧时间到操场上集合，即将召开我校世界地球日签字活动。”我一听，一把抓起一根记号笔，冲向操场，我还是我们班选出的签字代表之一呢!以前只在电视上看到过集体签名，今天终于能亲自去试一试了。操场上已经拉起了横幅,上书“推进找矿突破，保障科学发展”几个大字。主席台下有一排桌子，长达8米之长。上面铺着一张红色的横幅，和拉起的横幅一模一样，那一定就是签名的地方了。

luckily, some people are working to help save the animals. some groups raise money to let people know about the problem. and they try to get the governments to pass laws protecting animals in danger. quite a few countries have passed laws. these laws forbid the killing of any animal or planton the danger list. slowly, the number of some animals in danger is growing.
