等到他们返回时，智者正在原地迎接他们---年轻人满头大汗、气喘吁吁地扛着两捆柴，蹒跚而来;两个弟子一前一后，前面的弟子用扁担左右各担4捆柴，后面的弟子轻松地跟着。正在这时，从江面驶来一个木筏，载着小弟子和8捆柴火，停在智者的面前。

年轻人和两个先到的弟子，你看看我，我看看你，沉默不语;唯独划木筏的小徒弟，与智者坦然相对。智者见状，问：“怎么啦，你们对自己的表现不满意?”“大师，让我们再砍一次吧!”那个年轻人请求说，“我一开始就砍了6捆，扛到半路，就扛不动了，扔了两捆;又走了一会儿，还是压得喘不过气，又扔掉两捆;最后，我就把这两捆扛回来了。可是，大师，我已经很努力了。”

“我和他恰恰相反，”那个大弟子说：“刚开始，我俩各砍两捆，将4捆柴一前一后挂在扁担上，跟着这个施主走。我和师弟轮换担柴，不但不觉得累，反倒觉得轻松了很多。最后，又把施主丢弃的柴挑了回来。”

划木筏的小弟子接过话，说：“我个子矮，力气小，别说两捆，就是一捆，这么远的路也挑不回来，所以，我选择走水路……”

智者用赞赏的目光看着弟子们，微微颔首，然后走到年轻人面前，拍着他的肩膀，语重心长地说：”一个人要走自己的路，本身没有错，关键是怎样走;走自己的路，让别人说，也没有错，关键是走的路是否正确。

年轻人，你要永远记住：选择比努力更重要。

这个世界有一种鸡血，用来让你去拼命——拼命的工作、学习，为一个更高的分数，为一个更高的工资，得到更多的认可。但是如果问，这一切的意义在哪里，你知道吗?

因为没有最好只有更好，因为只有第一名才能被人记住，因为梦想，因为奋斗。

这些话本没有错，但当努力只是为了努力，当奋斗只是为了奋斗，这一切就像一个奇怪的自我催眠，亲，你知道你这努力的一切是为了什么吗?

就好像当年我们拼命考大学，但是那一切的意义是什么?我们抱怨，学的是没用的知识，我们抱怨，考试的艰辛，我们痛斥，教育制度的泯灭人性，但又不知道其他的路在哪里，我们问这一切有什么意义，可是我们又不知道真正的意义何在，我们不敢走不同寻常路，我们不知道什么叫突破。我们最多的是叛逆，叫我做什么就不做什么好像就是自由了，好像就是做自己了，但你知道，并不是。

请千万不要误会，我不是在说，努力是无用的。而是，方向不对，努力白费。

怎么判断方向对不对?

如果做那件事，只是你以为的应该，比如父母说你应该学习，你就学了，而不是你自己爱学习的，这就是方向不对。如果做那件事情你很痛苦，坚持很难，你因此责怪自己没有意志力，那就是方向不对。

你有没有注意到另外一些事?没有人告诉你，应该去做，但你想去做，你也做了，而且做的很开心，坚持?拜托，你巴不得天天做，一次做几小时你都不累，那就是你的方向。你的热爱，就是你的天赋。

有人说你，哟，真努力啊，你却说，哪里，我很开心。从来我们都觉得，努力是苦的，不会是甜的，坚持是苦的，更不能是开心的，这是一种莫名其妙的痛苦哲学，让很多人咬牙坚持去做自己根本不喜欢的事情，过着没有喜悦、不喜欢的人生，但想到古人云坚持就是胜利，于是乎，继续努力，继续励志，继续用鸡汤麻痹自己。从来没想过，方向对了吗?

天生我材必有用，但首先，你要找到适合的舞台，你的热爱指引你的路。

但是即便懂得这道理，你也未必会放手去做。我们会有很多理由。其中一个就是，不接受真实的自己。譬如，我喜欢唱歌，但我的外表真的很一般，而且，我从小没想过自己要做歌手，因为在校的教育，音乐是副科，从来不会觉得唱歌是一件值得骄傲的事情，所以虽然我从小就喜欢听流行歌，大学也参加歌唱比赛，但是想到，如果以后是歌手，还是蛮恐怖的，因为这不符合我从小的自我认知。

从小，我的家庭告诉我，清华北大是最好的，语数外你都要拿高分，别的不重要，所以即使我喜欢唱歌，跳舞，也想买钢琴，家里人不支持，即使现在，我的妈妈也不支持我学习音乐。

我也想做作家，想出书，但是从小我的作文就不是非常突出的那种，我也从来不曾想过我能写出什么好东西，只是，我知道我喜欢看书，所以我就去看，想写的时候就写，直到得到一小部分人的欣赏和肯定时，我发现，或许这一切是自然的结果，你爱那件事，你做那件事，时间长了，你自然就会做好，而且这过程，没有那种挣扎的痛苦。

所以现在，我想让自己更多的去做自己想做，打破过去对自己的固有认知，和所谓正确的唯一的死路，让自己的心灵引导自己，做内心真正想做的事情，人生苦短，这时候不做，什么时候去做?

有时候我们不接纳自己的天赋只是因为他和我们希望自己是谁的那个形象冲突，比如我，我就希望自己是北大的本科生，学霸，后来我发现比起在课堂中上课，我更喜欢唱歌，比起看教科书，我更爱看心灵鸡汤励志书和其他乱七八糟的书，我其实是后者，却希望自己是前者，我羡慕别人，他们是我的理想自我，可是终有一天我妥协了，我接纳我的真实，我就是更爱音乐，虽然这从小就被压抑了，我热爱写作，尽管从来没有人告诉我你的应试作文写的不错。

忘记这个环境吧，去做你自己，去爱你真实的样子，一定会有人看到，你这一朵与众不同的花，当你绽放，全世界会为你鼓掌，他们不在乎你走的是哪一条路，你来自哪一朵花园，只因为你是你，只因为你是上帝的选择。

People will be the envy of the sky eagle, but never thought it a thousand times to practice hard; people were envious of butterfly flowers, but do not have to pay attention to it once as a caterpillar suffering; people are jealous of those celebrities, those scientists, those successful people, but never thought they have too much to pay behind the hardships and sweat, experienced many setbacks.

So, in the face of the unexpected blow, who seem insurmountable difficulties, the vast expanse of the thorns, I will not retreat. Because I know, success is built on the basis of failure and sharpening.
