1. If the direction of the "fortune deity" is at the "ill position", people will choose to receive "happy deity" or "noble deity" instead.

2. There is an apparent difference in the custom of food taking on Yuandan between the Chinese in the northern and southern regions. The northern Chinese has the habit of taking jiao zi(dumpling made of flour with vegetable and meat wrapped inside). Some people may put a sweet or a coin inside jiao zi, hoping to have a sweet year after tasting the sweet and a wealthy year after tasting the coin. on the other hand, the southern Chinese have the taboo for killing on Yuandan. Therefore, they do not take meat in tee morning of Yuandan, so as to avoid bloodshed or mutual slaughter. In order to evade misfortune, they have the first meal of this day without meat. Instead, they take vegetarian food for the sake of virtue.

3. What is special during the New Year is that parents or elders will distribute red packets(ang pao or ya sui qian)to the children. People in the ancient times were more particular in giving away the red packets: the distribution took place on the eve of New Year so that the kids could suppress the past year and enter the New Year. Ya sui has the meaning of overcoming the unpredictable future. Representing the wishes for the healthy psychological growth of the children, ya sui qian symbolises the elders hope to see their children overcome all the unpredictable elements brought by the "year".

本次是先鱼龙，鱼龙引（拉丁语学名：Ichthyosauria，来自希腊语：ιχθυ？，“鱼”和σαυρο？“（蜥蜴”）是一种类似鱼和海豚的大型海栖爬行动物。它们生活在中生代的大多数时期，最早出现于约2。5亿年前，比恐龙稍微早一点（2。3亿年前），约9000万年前它们消失，比恐龙灭绝早约2500万年。在三叠纪中期今天还未能确定的陆栖爬行动物逐渐回到海洋中生活，演化为鱼龙，这个过程类似今天的海豚和鲸的演化过程。在侏罗纪它们分布尤其广泛。在白垩纪它们作为最高的水生食肉动物被蛇颈龙取代。

然后是剑龙，剑龙为一种巨大的恐龙，生存于侏罗纪晚期四只脚的食草动物。它们被认为是居住在平原上，并且以群体游牧的方式和其它如粱龙的食草动物一同生活。它的背上有一排巨大的骨质板，以及带有四根尖刺的危险尾巴来防御掠食者的攻击。大约可达12公尺长和7公尺高，可重达4吨。

再是蛇颈龙，蛇颈龙（Plesiosaur）是海中爬行类的一种，海中爬行类包括了海洋鳄鱼和鱼龙。它们由陆上生物演化而来，再回到海洋中生活。这些中形的爬行类活在三叠纪到白垩纪晚期。它们必须生活在乾净的水域中，主要以食用鱼类维生。化石证实它们较常出现在海洋环境中，除了鹦鹉螺之外也吃鱼类。古生物学家对于Plesiosaur与其他海洋物种的关系，意见分歧。

其次是三角龙，三角龙（属名：Triceratops）鸟臀目角龙下目角龙科的草食性恐龙的一属，化石发现于北美洲的晚白垩纪晚马斯特里赫特阶地层，约6800万年前到6500万年前。三角龙是最晚出现的恐龙之一，经常被作为晚白垩纪的代表化石。。目前已有两个有效种：恐怖三角龙、T。prorsus，但还有其他属被命名。三角龙也是最着名的恐龙之一，也是在通俗文化中非常受欢迎的恐龙。

最后是盗龙，盗龙（属名：Rapator）意为“盗贼”，是种兽脚亚目恐龙，生存于早白垩纪的澳大利亚。盗龙长度为9米。盗龙起初是在1932年，由德国古生物学家休尼（FriedrichvonHuene）根据他所发现的单一骨头来命名。这个骨头起初被认为来自于一只不确定属的兽脚类恐龙手部；后来这骨头被认为类似阿瓦拉慈龙科恐龙的手指骨头。如果盗龙属于阿瓦拉慈龙科，它将成为该科最大型的成员。但近期的研究显示盗龙可能是种原始的虚骨龙类，类似恩霹渥巴龙。

据传，很早的时候，有个姓胡的财主，家财万贯，横行乡里，看人行事，皮笑肉不笑，人们都叫他"笑面虎".这笑面虎只要看见比自己穿得好的人，便象老鼠给猎捋胡子──拚命巴结；对那些粗衣烂衫的穷人，他则象饿狗啃骨头──恨不得嚼出油来。

那年春节将临，胡家门前一前一后来了两个人，前边那人叫李才，后边那个叫王少。李才衣帽整齐华丽，王少穿得破破烂烂。家丁一见李才，忙回房禀报，笑面虎慌忙迎出门来，一见来客衣帽华丽，就满脸堆笑恭敬相让。李才说要"借银十两"，笑面虎忙取来银两。李才接过银两，扬长而去。笑面虎还没回过神来，王少忙上前喊道："老爷，我借点粮。"笑面虎瞟了他一眼，见是衣着破烂的王少，就暴跳如雷地骂道："你这小子，给我滚！"王少还没来得及辩驳，就被家丁赶出大门。

回家的路上，王少越想越生气，猛然间心生一计，决定要斗斗这个笑面虎。

转眼间，春节已过，元宵将临，各家各户都忙着做花灯，王少也乐哈哈地忙了一天。到了元宵灯节的晚上，各家各户街头房前都挂上各式各样的花灯，王少也打出一顶花灯上了街。只见这花灯扎得又大又亮，更为特别的是上面还题着一首诗。王少来到笑面虎门前，把花灯挑得高高的，引得好多人围看。笑面虎正在门前观灯，一见此景，忙也挤到花灯前，见灯上题着四句诗，他认不全，念不通，就命身后的帐房先生念给他听。帐房先生摇头晃脑地念道：

头尖身细白如银，论秤没有半毫分，眼睛长到屁股上，光认衣裳不认人。

笑面虎一听，只气得面红耳赤，怒眼圆睁，哇哇乱忠："好小子，胆敢来骂老爷！"喊着，就命家丁来抢花灯。王少忙挑起花灯，笑嘻嘻地说："老爷，咋见得是骂你呢？"笑面虎气呼呼地说："你那灯上是咋写的？"王少又朗声念了一遍。笑面虎恨声说："这不是骂我骂谁？"王少仍笑嘻嘻地说："噢，老爷是犯了猜疑。我这四句诗是个谜。谜底就是针，你想想是不是？"笑面虎一想：可不哩！只气得干瞪眼，没啥说，转身狼狈地溜起了。周围的人见了，只乐得哈哈大笑。
