In countries such as Australia, Canada and the United States, although Chinese New Year  not an official holiday, many ethnic Chinese hold large celebrations and Australia Post, Canada Post, and the US Postal Service sues New Years themed stamps.

Within China, regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of the Chinese new year vary widely. People will pour out their money to buy presents, decoration, material, food, and clothing. It  also the tradition that every family thoroughly cleans the house to sweep away any ill-fortune in hopes to make way for good incoming luck. Windows and doors will be decorated with red colour paper-cuts and couplets with popular themes of “happiness”, “wealth”, and “longevity”. On the Eve of Chinese New Year, supper  a feast with families. Food will include such items as pigs, ducks, chicken and sweet delicacies. The family will end the night with firecrackers. Early the next morning, children will greet their parents by whing them a healthy and happy new year, and receive money in red paper envelopes. 游完虎丘，我们又乘车来到西园。西园可真够气派!一对威武的石狮立在大门两旁，瞪着鼓鼓的眼睛。忽然一股浓郁的檀香味儿扑鼻而来，进了正门，才看到院中横放着一只硕大的石香炉，插在炉中的一柱柱檀香正燃着，飘出缕缕青烟，给这佛门寺院笼罩上一层幽雅而肃穆的薄纱。

游了正厅，我们夹杂在人流中，一边顺着青石铺成的小径漫步，一边饱览着西园的美丽的春天。高高的槐树顶着湛蓝的天空;嫩嫩的草儿像绿色的毯子铺在地上;黄莺在歌唱，小雀在飞舞;苏醒过来的树则像个长发姑娘，迎风梳理着她那头秀美的青丝……走着走着，来到一个亭子前，那朱漆木柱，既华丽又典雅，沿着曲曲折折的走廊往前走，就是著名的罗汉堂。罗汉堂分三部分，共有泥塑全身罗汉五百尊，神态各异，栩栩如生，富有浪漫色彩。

最有趣的是第三部分，里面矗立着阴阳怪气的济公和尚。你看他，鞋儿破，帽儿破，身上的袈裟破;一把遮羞的破扇儿挡住半边脸，头上的`僧帽歪戴着，一副玩世不恭的样子。在他周围，大大小小的罗汉盘膝而坐，有的慈眉善目，有的尖嘴猴腮，有的嬉笑，有的嗔怒，活灵活现，妙趣横生。

最后，我们游览了拙政园、狮子林，这里的假山、亭子真多，还有一连串的山洞，我们在这里尽情地玩耍嬉戏。
