人类之所以能在地球上生存是因为生态平衡的缘故。地球给我们人类乃至所有生命的形式，提供了一个生命支持系统--空气、水、适当的光和热、以及能源等等。事实上，这种原始的传统的森林砍伐还不特别危险，而贫困和绝望却会导致不顾一切后果将其滥伐殆尽。经过几次好收获之后，土地将会变得贫瘠，只能生长一些灌木丛。如今这种破坏过程发展得如此迅猛，以致热带雨林正面临着在几十年内完全消失的危险。当森林死亡的时候，死亡的不仅仅是树木，而是一个生态系统。失去绿色的土地，无疑会面临接踵而至的生态灾难和许多物种因而灭绝。

就生态系统的整体结构来说，生物多样性是维持生态系统稳定性的基础，是生态平衡的重要条件。山区经济建设，似不应单从眼前的经济利益着想，或只考虑工程施工上的方便，而忽视对生物资源尤其植物资源的保护。因为生态系统的生物多样性是建立在植物多样性的基础上，植物和植被往往是动物赖以生存的物质来源和栖息繁衍的场所。由于各地的生态条件不同，形成了各种不同的特定的生态系统，如森林、草原、沼泽、荒漠生态系统等都各自有其特殊的外貌和结构，且可由于种类成分等的不同而形成多种多样的生物群落。

森林对世界植物和动物的最大威胁是生态环境的破坏。大部分生物很难离开它已适应了的环境。世界上物种最丰富的地方之一是热带雨林区，但是现在它正在遭受到越来越快的破坏。实际上，世界上所有的天然森林都受到严重威胁。程度最轻的是雨林被单一的经济林所代替，情况最严重的地方已因侵蚀而被破坏成了贫瘠的灌丛地。据测算，进入90年代以来，每年有约13～15万平方千米的热带雨林变成荒地，非洲的热带雨林只剩下原先的三分之一。据世界自然保护基金会估计，全球的森林正以每年2%的速度消失，按照这个速度，50年后人们将看不到天然森林了。

根据第六次全国森林资源清查结果，全国森林面积26.2亿亩，森林覆盖率18.21%，森林蓄积124.56亿立方米。全国人工林面积7.99亿亩，人工林面积居世界首位。全国城市绿化覆盖率达31.15%，人均公共绿地达6.49平方米。这一结果说明：

一、我国林业工作取得了很大的成就，森林面积和蓄积量继续保持双增长。第四次全国森林资源清查(1989-1993年)结果，我国森林覆盖率为15.12%，本次清查结果表明，森林覆盖率净增1.43个百分点。两次清查间隔期内(以下简称间隔期内)我国森林面积净增1370.3万公顷，其中人工林面积净增1025.2万公顷。目前，我国森林面积居世界第5位，人工林面积居世界首位。

间隔期内，全国活立木总蓄积量净增5.4亿立方米，森林蓄积量净增6.0亿立方米，用材林蓄积净增2.4亿立方米;林木年均净生长量为45752.5万立方米，年均净消耗量为37075。2万立方米，林木蓄积生长量继续大于消耗量。我国森林蓄积量居世界第7位。

二、林业面临的形势依然相当严峻，主要表现为：一是森林资源的平均水平依然很低。我国的森林覆盖率只相当于世界森林覆盖率(27%)的61.3%;全国人均森林面积和人均森林蓄积分别相当于世界人均水平的1/5和1/8。二是森林质量不高，平均每公顷蓄积量只有78.06立方米，相当于世界平均水平的68%;郁闭度0.2-0.3的林分面积占林分总面积的20.1%。三是林龄结构不合理，可采资源继续减少。全国林分面积中，幼、中龄林占71.1%;用材林中，幼、中龄林面积占74.4%;间隔期内用材林成熟林面积减少17.2万公顷，蓄积量减少1.6亿立方米;四是林地被改变用途或征占现象依然严重，每年平均有216.3万公顷的林业用地逆转为非林业用地。

由此可见，只要我们人人都能尽自己的一份力量，中国就会重见绿色，世界就会充满绿色!

Wind blows up bags higher and higher in the sky. It is a scary thought that some day the earth will turn into a huge garbage land. Wastes, if not treated properly, will make our life a living nightmare.

The environmental issue is getting worse almost every day in cities with very large population. As is often the case, city development outpaces environmental protection. People consume great amount of natural resources and produce wastes. To effectively address such problems, cities need to spend big money. In addition, they need to call to the attention of people to become more environmentally responsible.

Many people are becoming less responsible and easily influenced by bad behaviors. “Why should I care while others shouldn’t?” Such idea makes some people only concern with places where they live and work. Furthermore, people sometimes even purposely litter for revenge to other people.

Although media promotes environmental awareness, good people are often snubbed as posers who try to set up a superior image in real life. Consequently, they are intimated of receiving negative comments for doing the right thing. Wrong as it is, such phenomenon is widespread especially among youngsters and people with low income and little education.

However, our society is waging a campaign against environmental pollution. People learn the harms of un-degradable lunch boxes and other polluting wastes. Laws in many countries prohibit or limit excessive use of polluting bags. Companies are continually replacing the old materials with more environmental friendly and recyclable kinds. Scientists have developed more effective technologies in waste treatment. As time goes by, more and more people put high priority on the protection of environment for a healthier life.

To sum up, people produce huge amount of garbage and the environment is seriously polluted because of lack of financial resources, sense of responsibility, or efforts. But the world will not turn into a “throw away” society if people put in sufficient efforts to protect our environment.

7月1日，泰山区省庄镇开展了“7.11”世界人口宣传活动，举办以家庭幸福为主题的文艺演出。

文艺节目以宣传计生政策、知识，提倡优生优育、生男生女都一样为主题，重点突出全面两孩政策的宣传、婚育新风宣传、优生优育宣传。设立了5个咨询台，就法规、科技、利导、药具等工作接受群众咨询，分别设立了人口宣传品发放处、免费药具发放处、计生政策咨询处、健康咨询处等展台，吸引了广大群众参与到世界人口日的宣传服务活动中来。本次活动共发放宣传品3000多份，解答各类咨询500余条，提供免费医疗服务200多人次，就育龄妇女生殖保健及避孕等常识进行耐心解答，给已婚育龄群众讲解孕前健康检查的好处。

6月5日是“世界环境日”，它主要是为了号召人们保护地球，为我们的家园增添一抹绿色。6月3日上午我和爸爸参加了由萧山日报小记者组织的“世界环境日”卖报等系列活动。

我来到报到处签完到穿好小记者的专用红马甲，在老师那里领了报纸等用品就开始“卖报”了。因为是第一次卖报，比较紧张，话也说不清楚，不知道如何卖报，因此在江寺公园转了一大圈一份报纸都没有卖出去。我很失落，这时爸爸过来教我怎么卖报纸。在爸爸的指导下，我顺利地卖出了第一份报纸，我很激动。就这样我一份一份的将报纸卖给过路的人。在剩下最后4份报纸的时候，我在红绿灯路口叫住一位叔叔，他被我在炎热的环境下卖报宣传保护环境的举动所感动，为我感到骄傲，于是他把剩下的4份报纸一次性买走了。就这样我把所有的报纸都卖完了，并把签名纸和卖报的钱交到老师那里，我领了奖品哼着“卖报歌”高兴地回家了。

通过这次活动，我不但学习到了卖报的经验，也让我变得更勇敢了，还为地球做了一点事，让我们的家园变得更美好，真是一个有意义的活动啊！

“我们青海是三江源头之地，保护好这里是我们的责任，也是我们的义务。”5日，在西宁市中心广场举办的世界环境日宣传活动现场，志愿者们对记者说。

6月5日是世界环境日，青海省环境日主题为“保护好中华水塔，确保一江清水向东流”，该主题旨在动员各级政府、部门和社会各界牢记嘱托，履行责任，牢固树立人与自然和谐共生理念，践行绿色生活、绿色消费，推动绿色发展，引导广大民众积极关注和参与三江源国家公园建设和湟水流域污染治理，保护水环境、治理水污染、节约水资源，从身边小事做起，履行环保责任，筑牢生态安全屏障，共建美丽家园。

活动现场，记者看到，很多市民对三江源国家公园片以及湟水河治理专题片都有着浓厚的兴趣，在现场驻足观看，一些小学生、中学生志愿者也加入到宣传队伍中，用自己手中的画笔，在百米长卷上画出“我爱家乡水”，同时还将环保宣传语编成快板书，在广场上为市民表演;有些在广场铺起来百米签名长卷，呼吁市民从身边小事做起，履行环保责任。

据记者了解，从5月下旬开始，西宁市利用各类媒体在商场、酒店等的LED屏、手机短信，公交车内车载电视等平台播发今年“改善环境质量推动绿色发展”的世界环境日主题、环保公益广告片及环保宣传标语，旨在引导社会公众实施绿色低碳消费，使节水、节电、节能、节材、降低生活污染物排放成为广大群众的自觉行为，努力提高市民环境意识，营造人人关心环保、支持环保、参与环保的浓厚氛围，努力改善全民生活环境质量。
